Lush Igloo Soap Review

Hey guys!

So this was a Christmas exclusive soap from Lush back in 2016. I purchased a good block of the stuff (yellow in colour) and have only just finished it using it up! I bought SO many soaps that year that I’ve just been slowly making my way through them. I still have 5 other soaps from that year that I’m working on using up! Regardless, I hope you enjoy this review 🙂

Igloo Soap (100g):

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

My piece of this soap was yellow (I believe you could get the soap in either red, orange, green or yellow.) The colour of this soap was so vibrant that it would leave bright yellow marks on my sink! It washed off easily, but it just meant having to wash the sink more often to keep it looking nice.

I don’t particularly remember my hands being soft or feeling moisturised when I used this soap. If anything, it was very, very slightly drying to my hands.

Although I really liked the colour of the soap, it was pretty basic and didn’t really “go” with anything in the bathroom. It was just plain in design – no lustre or other colours swirled in there or anything, and was such a bright yellow that I could only see it looking good in a predominantly yellow room.

The scent of this soap is mainly citrus (lemon,) and I know that a LOT of people are very bored and tired of all the citrus scented products that Lush makes!

Pros:

I LOVED the scent of this soap personally! It smelled like lemon flavoured turkish delight – a soft, sweet, icing-sugary, powdery, lemony, rosy scent. It is definitely one of the best smelling Lush soap that I have used thus far!

The smell would always cling to my hands after using it. The scent of the soap is non-offensive because of how soft of a smell it has, so the scent clinging to my hands was never a bad thing.

The colour of this soap was gorgeous. It was a delicious, bright, zesty, lemony yellow colour. Super uplifting to look at!

Igloo soap always did a good job of washing my hands thoroughly.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this was a nice soap. I loved the scent of it, but besides that… I just really don’t have too much to say about this product overall! Besides the scent it was honestly a pretty basic soap.

Overall, I’m going to rate Igloo soap a 4/5* rating. It was a nice soap and was better than average – it just wasn’t anything special really!

10 Reasons Why Hufflepuffs Are Epic.

hufflepuff.png

Hey guys! I’ve been really into Harry Potter recently, so I came up with this post. I hope you enjoy!

  1. Us Hufflepuffs appreciate the smaller, more ignored things in life. We take time to enjoy the view, we notice the beauty in the little wild flowers that we walk by on a daily basis, we stop to move (and hence, save from being trodden on) innocent slugs that we see in the middle of the pavement… Sure, maybe we don’t always put the apparently “important” things in the world first, but I think we have an inner wisdom that tells us what is TRULY important 🙂
    yellow2.jpg
  2. We are a very mysterious and underestimated house! The dark horses in the running. No-one is really fully sure of what our motives or skills are, because we conceal them so well 😉 We also hate to boast and to be in the spotlight! It isn’t that we don’t HAVE any motives and skills other than, well, being kind. It’s just that kindness is at the forefront of our minds the majority of the time. It could be said that I myself am ambitious, will stand up for what is right and I would like to think that I’m pretty wise! We can truly surprise you (and even ourselves) with our talents when we feel it appropriate to do so!
    Yellow-sand.jpg
  3. We have an aptitude for the care of animals and plants – (magical creatures and herbology.) No other Hogwarts house is as good with caring for other forms of life as we are, and it is something we really pride ourselves on! Animals and plants keep us healthy and share this planet with us, and us Hufflepuffs believe that they are incredibly important and warrant out respect (both inside and outside of the classroom.)
    wallup.net
  4. We really like to keep the peace, and will only be purposefully rude if we are very wound-up. Us Hufflepuffs like to think before we speak, and refuse to become involved in meaningless arguments! We prefer to be neutral, objective, observant spectators, and to analyse all the angles to each side of an argument. We like to find compromise where available. Hufflepuffs are, however, very just – meaning that we can be extremely opinionated on what is the right course of action, and will definitely stand up to anything we consider to be morally/ethically “wrong”. We are always careful to not upset others when it isn’t necessary to do so, and I think that makes us pretty epic 🙂
    yellow1
  5. Hufflepuffs are pretty damn loyal when it comes down to it. We are extremely kind, and always do our best to make those we care about, happy. All the Hogwarts houses have loyal traits, but none like Hufflepuff. We will not discriminate, and are loyal intuitively to those who have shown us trust, kindness and who have made us happy. Once we have committed ourselves to someone, we will do our best to remain loving, kind and true to them – even if they have heavily let us down in the past!
    huffles.png
  6. We are very, very patient in comparison to the other Hogwarts houses, and will happily wait for our time to come to have glory. In general, we are in no particular rush to achieve big things in our lives, and believe that one cannot make anything happen any quicker than the time that it is ready to do so. That isn’t to say that we aren’t at all ambitious, because we are! We simply prefer to try and enjoy the journey, rather than fighting to get to the finishing line.
    roses_flower_yellow_bright_beautiful_bouquet_28145_1400x1050.jpg
  7. Us Hufflepuffs are unapologetically honest and true. We do not purposely conceal any truths about our beliefs, and you can always be sure of exactly who you’re dealing with when it comes to us lot. We do not conform to norms, and will not be “kind” or “polite” just to uphold an outward appearance of being a nice person! We are still kind, but you can rest assured that we are being so without any ulterior motives.
    d
  8. We love happiness, life and sunshine! No other house enjoys to simply be happy as much as us guys and girls do. Even our common room is almost perpetually sunny, warm and cosy, and is filled with all sorts of interesting plants. The view from our common room is of fresh green grass and beautifully bright dandelions. Our house colours of yellow and black represent fields of bright, yellow, sunny wheat growing in dark earth. Yellow itself is also such a bright and cheerful colour – often used to represent the mood happiness. There are no harsh lines in our common room – all the doors and windows are circular shaped – as is the shape of the common room itself! The Hufflepuff common room truly is a happy little den, where everyone can feel safe.
    hufflepuffcom.jpg
  9. We, by far, have the most cuddly emblematic animal! We are represented by the adorable badger, a very underestimated animal! Don’t let their adorable, cuddliness fool you – if you cross a badger, they’ll defend themselves and their loved ones with their life! I’m proud to be represented by the badger 😀
    badger
  10. We are very hard workers, and are also extremely determined. We like to challenge ourselves, so we will often pursuit things in life that we aren’t naturally very good at, and will continue working at those things until we are. For example, I believe I was one of two Hufflepuffs in my classes at college, and we definitely found studying classes such as Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, Physics and Statistics more difficult than our classmates. However, by the end of the year I was receiving results in my exams that exceeded those of the majority of my classmates – primarily in Statistics but also in Physics. Those results were purely due to a lot of studying, reading and hard work. Us Hufflepuffs can achieve anything that we set our mind to!

So, that’s it from me today! Thank you for reading – I know I wrote quite a lot, I’m very passionate about being a Hufflepuff recently…

I hope you enjoyed my 10 reasons why Hufflepuffs are epic!

Lush Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster Mouthwash Tabs Review

Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster Mouthwash Tabs (45g)

Rating: 3/5*

Cons:

I wasn’t keen on the taste of these. At all! The taste did not grow on me, and I really didn’t enjoy it. They tasted like citrus mixed with sweetener and aniseed. I don’t like aniseed after an incident I had with Ouzo once. Ugh. Disgusting. Gross. I HATED THE TASTE OF THESE. PLEASE GOD NO!!! Eughhh so gross!

I found it kinda difficult to get these to fully dissolve into my mouth to become a mouthwash. I’d always be left with some gritty liquid to swish around, and would often find little gritty pieces of mouthwash tab left behind in/on my teeth after I had finished swishing.

The tabs create a mouthwash that is a bright, almost luminous yellow colour. You’re not supposed to rinse your mouth with water after using these, meaning that if any of that colour clings to your teeth, your teeth will appear more yellow after using these tabs! I didn’t particularly notice this, but it is something that made me feel slightly uncomfortable!

Pros:

My mouth would feel more fresh and clean after using one of these mouthwash tabs, so they did their job!

The taste was definitely a refreshing type of taste.

The sweet lemony taste of the mouthwash tabs was really nice!

These mouthwash tabs are a pale yellow colour, which I think looks cute! They are also in cute diamond shapes 🙂

These mouthwash tabs are extremely travel friendly!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, these tabs were… Interesting… They did work, but they were sort of uncomfortable to use, because they just didn’t dissolve or break down that well in my mouth. I really didn’t like how gritty the mouthwash solution was!

I also HATED the aniseed taste. I think it was vile, and I think Lush are taking a big risk by flavouring a mouthwash product with aniseed considering how love/hate the flavour is! It was just nasty, and the last thing I’d want my mouth to taste like after having used mouthwash!

The mouthwash did work though, and it was a nice extra step to ensure that my mouth was super clean. They are really handy aswell because of them being in a solid format, and they look adorable! The lemony flavour in them is nice too, but overall I think the taste of them is quite gross to be honest!

Overall, I’m going to rate these guys 3/5* rating. I can’t give them lower than that because they did their job, which is the most important thing really! They just tasted sooo gross

Lush Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb Review

Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb:

Rating: 3/5*

Cons:

This bath bomb leaves the bath water looking like many people peed in it. I’m not even kidding – it looks super yellow and kinda slightly frothy, but really not in a good way! If you HATE bathing in water that has this sort of a look to it, this is not a bath bomb you want to try!

The scent is quite sickly. To me it smelled like very sweet creamed coconut, or maybe coconut yoghurt. Either way, a super sweet coconut scent that definitely won’t be for everyone!

My Yellow Submarine tipped onto it’s side a little way into its show, and never turned back upright again. I like to let my bath bombs do their own thing, so I just left it that way. I expected him to float around upright for the entire show, so this was a little disappointing!

The colour the bath water turns is a real let down, because the show that the bath bomb provides is so colourful!

The scent of this bath bomb is very subtle – I could hardly smell it at all once I was in the tub, and couldn’t even really smell it very well while the bath bomb was fizzing away. If you like strongly scented bath bombs, this isn’t the one for you!

This was an exclusive product from Lush Oxford Street, and isn’t something that is readily available year-round. If you happen to get your hands on it, and happen to really like it, you’re going to find it difficult to stock up on!

This one was a really, really, really, REALLY slow fizzer. I honestly became a little antsy and fed up after around the 5 minute mark! I’m guessing the bath bomb took around 15 minutes to fizz away entirely. If you do not like slow fizzers, this one isn’t for you!

This bath bomb looks to me like it should smell of banana and marshmallow – like those banana candies and foamy candies in general that you eat as a child. It doesn’t smell like that at all though!

Pros:

This product is so cute! I mean, c’mon, it’s a bloomin’ yellow submarine!!! This product made me so nostalgic of times when I would watch The Yellow Submarine as a kid. The colours of the bath bomb and the show it provides perfectly represent the film. The Yellow Submarine bath bomb begins blowing out groovy bubbles toward the beginning of its show, and fizzes out beams of pink, yellow and pale yellow foam. The bath bomb slowly fizzes away around the bath tub, in a super chill fashion. I think this is the type of product that anyone who has seen The Yellow Submarine HAS to try at least once!

I really liked the colours of this bath bomb. They were super cute – a pale yellow submarine with a bright pink tail end.

The bath bomb really helped to soften my skin, and when it came to exfoliating (something I always do after washing my face and before shaving,) I was able to remove loads of dead skin! I know that’s pretty nasty, but my skin was soooo smooth and soft afterwards! If you want to have super smooth skin then exfoliate after bathing with this guy!

I received this as a gift from my partner, and it made a really fun gift! Perhaps this would be a good bath bomb to give to a Yellow Submarine fan as a gift 🙂

This product is vegan and, of course, is a Lush product! Two very good things 🙂

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I loved the concept and appearance of this bath bomb SO MUCH! I also liked the softening effect that it had on my skin. The idea of the bath bomb was brilliant overall, but I wasn’t personally very keen on the scent of it. It was too sickly for me! The scent was also way too subtle for me – I love it when I can still smell the bath bomb in my hair the morning after having taken a bath. This bath bomb also fizzes away WAY too slowly, and the end result was kinda icky to be honest.

Overall, I’m going to rate this bath bomb a 3/5* rating. It was a really fun concept for a bath bomb, and I’m really glad it was one that I got to try! The cons were pretty big for me though to be honest.

Lush Let The Good Times Roll Fresh Cleanser Review

I’m so gutted that I’ve finished this cleanser up! It was such a pleasure to use. I bought it using a gift card during the Boxing Day sale last year, and I only just finished it yesterday, so it has lasted me around 4 1/2 months in total! I hope you enjoy my review 🙂

Let The Good Times Roll Fresh Cleanser (100g):

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This product smells so good. If you find it difficult to resist things that smell absolutely incredible, well, you may find yourself accidentally trying to taste this cleanser… I wish I was joking, but I genuinely licked this cleanser… On more than one occasion… It didn’t even taste bad! After watching tons of videos where YouTubers describe their first impressions of this product on cleanser, I know I’m not the only one who has tried to steal a taste!

I know this cleanser lasted me a while, but it didn’t feel long enough honestly. You’re going to feel like this product runs out really quickly, because it is such a nice product to use that you’re just going to want it to last forever!

Okay, if this stuff gets in your eye, even just a little bit of it, you’re screwed. Okay, not screwed, but your eyes will really, really hurt. The consistency of this cleanser is pretty much like sand, so just imagine little grains of damp sand in your eyes… Not very pleasant. If you have sensitive eyes then perhaps you should give a different Lush cleanser a try.

The scent of this cleanser is super sweet, and is definitely the sort of scent that after continuous use, most people will probably start to find quite sickly. If you don’t like super sweet scents then steer clear of LLGTR!

This cleanser has a great consistency in general, but sometimes it is difficult to know how much product you need to get the desired scrubbiness. I would apply some of the cleanser to my face, begin scrubbing it around and after just 20 seconds or so, I’d find that I needed to apply more cleanser to my face. I like to rub my cleanser into my skin for around 90 seconds, to make sure I’m making full use of all of those good properties of the cleanser. If you’re not into the idea of having to re-apply your cleanser whilst cleansing, try a different cleanser 🙂

This is a very foody cleanser. Some people might not like rubbing a food-like product onto their face!

Pros:

This cleanser will make your face baby soft, silky smooth and feel super moisturised. The texture of my skin was instantly improved upon using this product – any bumps were just completely smoothed out. My skin always, ALWAYS felt AMAZING after using this cleanser! If you want your facial skin to feel amazing, try this cleanser!

The smell of this cleanser is so lovely – it’s always nice to cleanse your face with something that smells good! It smells like digestive biscuits, gingerbread, popcorn, caramel… All good things! I like the thought of my face smelling like sweet biscuits 🙂

A massive pro for me is that this cleanser doesn’t really get stuck in your hairline. I find that with a lot of Lush cleansers, little bits will get stuck in my hairline, but that doesn’t happen with LLTGR at all! If this is something you have had trouble with in the past with Lush’s cleansers, try this one!

This cleanser does a great job of actually cleansing my skin! 😀

I quite like the name of this product. ‘Let The Good Times Roll’ just sounds so positive!

This is a vegan cleanser.

This cleanser lasts quite a good amount of time! It lasted me 4 1/2 months before I used it all up. I admit that I have also been using a few other cleansers during that time, but I have predominantly been using LLTGR!

I find this fresh cleanser so easy to make a mixture with. What I do is wet my face and hands fully. I then grab a fairly small blob of cleanser, and place it into the palm of my hand. I use any left-over droplets of water on my fingers and hand to mix the cleanser into a smooth, even texture. Once I’ve achieved this, I just apply it to my face! I rub it around for 90 seconds, and then rinse it off. Perfection!

Okay, this kinda shouldn’t be a pro because it isn’t something you should do, but this cleanser tastes pretty good…

I really like the texture of LLGTR! The smell of it and texture of it genuinely makes me feel like I am rubbing crushed up Biscoff biscuits onto my face! Super fun! 🙂

This cleanser technically expired on the 2nd March, but it has been absolutely find to use for an additional 2 months and a week after this date. If you’re worried about your product going off then as long as you are using it continuously, you don’t have anything to worry about! The scent, appearance, texture and effectiveness of my cleanser didn’t change at all for the entire duration that I used it for.

The ingredients of this cleanser are pretty natural!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this cleanser was amazing! It made my face feel incredible, and it smelt really good! I loved the consistency of it too 🙂

I’m going to rate this cleanser a 5/5* rating!

I know I’ve been giving everything a 5/5* rating recently – I guess I’ve just been using some really good products up! My ratings are definitely honest though, and take into account all the pros and cons of the product. My face has just possibly never ever felt as amazing after cleansing as it does after using Let The Good Times Roll! I would HIGHLY recommend trying this cleanser. I know it seems a little gimmicky and even hyped up, but it is with very good reason! This truly is a very good cleanser 🙂

Lush Cheer Up Buttercup Bath Bomb Review

My partner bought me this as a cute gift the other week! He said he went to the Lush Oxford Street store and asked for exclusive items, and that they showed him this 🙂

Cheer Up Buttercup Bath Bomb

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This has a super sweet sherbet lemon scent to it. If that sounds horrid to you, don’t try it!

This bath bomb leaves the bath water a very translucent greeny-yellow colour. Not everyone’s cup of tea.

This bath bomb doesn’t really leave much bath art on the surface of the bath water after it has finished fizzing away.

Lots of little bits come out of this bath bomb while it fizzes, which is absolutely fine. However, once in the bath, these pieces kept freaking me out! One piece was really big, and I honestly thought it was some sort of bug like a wasp or something, so I scooped it out with my comb in an attempt to save it – only to find it was actually just another planty piece from the bath bomb! I’d also find little pieces stuck to my legs which, from a bit of a distance, looked like some sort moths or flies were stuck to my legs. If this sounds kinda creepy to you then perhaps it is best you not try this bath bomb.

I found that because this bath bomb left the bath water a very translucent colour to begin with, any product I used in the bath would really colour the water, until I was left with a really murky, grey, dirty, soapy looking bath! If you like your baths to be very colourful, this bath bomb won’t provide you with that.

Once the bath bomb has fizzed away, the scent is still there, but not as strong as it is when the bath bomb is in solid form.

This was an exclusive product, and isn’t readily available to purchase from stores at the moment. That means that if you do manage to find one of these bath bombs, and happen to love it, you could find yourself in a bit of a pickle trying to stock up on some more!

Pros:

I think the scent of Cheer Up Buttercup is absolutely amazing! It REALLY does smell like Lemon Sherbet sweets… Mmm… Just for the scent, this bath bomb is TOTALLY worth a go!

The scent of the bath bomb will last for the entire duration of your bath, and even leaves a subtle scent behind on your skin, hair and in the air 🙂

This bath bomb helped chill me out and cheer me up! I was all stressed out and moody before I got into my bath, and I came out feeling super chilled out and very happy! It was definitely great for improving my mental state.

This bath bomb is really moisturising!

The name is absolutely adorable. I mean, Cheer Up Buttercup, c’mon. So cute!

The colour of the bath bomb is a super cute pastel yellow colour, and it has little delicate purple flowers pressed into the top of it. So pretty and gorgeous!

The little purple flowers floating around are quite relaxing (so long as you don’t mistake them for being bugs in your water.) I also love the colour purple and think the flowers themselves are absolutely gorgeous.

I think the colour of this bath bomb and the colour it left my bath water also helped perk me up. Yellow is just such a happy, sunny, optimistic colour!

This was a perfect gift from my partner. It is just so cute! If you want to give someone a really thoughtful and cute gift, this is the perfect item to do that with.

I didn’t notice this until just a bit ago, but the price of this bath bomb was actually only £2.95. This is AMAZING value for what this bath bomb has to offer!

This being an exclusive bath bomb certainly makes it feel like quite a special item to own and to use 🙂

The inside of this bath bomb was an adorable bright pink colour!

The final bath art left behind was just a subtle ombre rainbow type effect – one end was more pink, which faded to orange, then yellow, then green, then blue. Each colour was super subtle and really pretty!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really liked this bath bomb! It was just so incredibly cute, and really uplifting.

I’m going to rate this bath bomb a 5/5* rating. I know I had quite a few complaints about it, but its pros just carried so much more weight. It really was a lovely bath bomb to use, and I’m so blessed to have been able to receive it as a gift from my partner 🙂

Lush Bohemian Soap Review

Hey guys! So I went to a Lush store in Berlin while I was visiting. I just saw the store and couldn’t really resist taking a quick peek. Anyway, I was too shy to ask for any samples but luckily, when I got to the till, the cashier asked if I would like a sample of anything. I had been holding up all the soaps for my partner to smell just prior, and he really liked Bohemian (he loves lemons :D) So I asked for a Bohemian sample!

We have just finished up our piece of soap, I hope you enjoy this review!

Bohemian Soap (100g):

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

If you want to get this soap then you better like lemons a whole lot. If you don’t, you will absolutely hate this soap. Think freshly squeezed lemons!

After using this soap, my hands would feel extremely cleansed, possibly almost to a fault. I thought it was nice that it was so cleansing, but some people might find that aspect of it to be “harsh”.

Pros:

I thought this soap was pretty amazing. The scent of this soap is the closest to freshly squeezed lemon juice that I have ever smelled in a product in my life (other than freshly squeezed lemons themselves…) I’m not exaggerating. This soap smells exactly the same. I think it smells incredible!

This soap is super cleansing. It is nice to feel your hands are truly clean after you wash them!

The lather produced from this soap is surprisingly creamy. This soap lathers up so easily, and the lather is quite moisturising!

Overall Conclusion:

I know my review for this soap is incredibly short. I just can’t think of much to say about this soap. I found writing my last review on the “Dirty Springwash Shower Gel” very difficult too.

This soap is really nice. Basically, if you like lemons, you’ll really like this soap. Not a sweet, artificial scent of lemons. What I mean is if you like REAL, freshly squeezed lemon juice, you’ll love this product.

It is definitely uplifting, lemony… has a sour scent to it… It is just super lemony! The only un-lemony thing about this product is that the lather is so creamy. You’d think that a lemon soap’s lather would be more bubbly and…soapy? Rather than creamy and moisturising.

I’m going to give this soap a 4/5*. My only fault with this soap is that the scent is very sour, like legit lemon juice. I wasn’t the biggest fan of using such a strongly sour lemon scented soap every single time I washed my hands – it was just a bit too much for me! Other than that, this soap was really lovely to use and I’d recommend more people give this often overlooked soap a go!
