Lush Breath Of Fresh Air Toner Water Review

Breath Of Fresh Air Toner Water (100g):

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

I wasn’t the MOST keen on this toner water if I’m honest with you! The second ingredient in this toner is Fresh Sea Water, which contains aound 1/30th of salt. That may not seem like much, especially considering that Fresh Sea Water isn’t even the first ingredient in this toner water, however it is something I noticed with when using this product. I have very sensitive skin in general, because I have acne and also have an annoying picking habit, which made using this toner actually a little painful. Using this toner would cause a slight burning sensation on my face – not nice! If you have sensitive skin, acne or often have open wounds on your face, this is NOT the toner for you! It will hurt!

I’ve tried all of Lush’s toners before trying this one, and this is the toner that left my face with the least clean of a feeling. My face, by no means, would feel dirty after using this toner. It would just not feel fully fresh I suppose!

Pros:

This toner made an absolutely fantastic cleanser (both by itself and used after cleansing or after rinsing off a face mask, to get rid of excess residue!) This is by far Lush’s best toner for getting rid of any excess dirt, makeup or residue of any sort from the face! It is extremely clarifying and no matter how thoroughly I would cleanse beforehand, a cotton round with Breath Of Fresh Air toner applied to it would always remove extra dirt from my face!

This toner lasted me a really good long time, was very affordable and has a long time before its expiry date. My toner water was made on the 11/04 this year, and I just finished it up today on the 14/07 – so a 100g bottle of the stuff lasted me just over 3 months! I use this toner extremely regularly – twice a day, and use plenty each time! The expiry date for my bottle is 11/06/18, so you have 1 year and 2 months to use up this toner (more than enough time!)

I really like the scent of this toner. To me it smells fresh, like a beach holiday all contained in a bottle. It really does smell wonderful!

Breath Of Fresh Air does its job really well as a toner. My skin would be cleaner, my pores would appear smaller, my skin would feel less tight and my skin would appear more plump and youthful after using this toner. It really does do its job well, considering the product is mostly made from water!

Although I found the salt in the product to be irritating, salt is known to be anti-bacterial, which would actually be beneficial for spots or wounds. So, although the toner may burn a bit to use, it isn’t actually harmful towards skin problems at all.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think this toner was okay. I really like the concept of it – it smells identical to the Sea Monster Fun to me – a scent that always reminds me of being on a seaside holiday somewhere warm. It also cleanses really well and overall, does its job well. It did sting my face though, and it didn’t make my skin “feel” super clean – I could definitely feel product left behind on my skin after using the toner. Also, although I know this toner was technically good for my acne, I haven’t noticed my acne being significantly better recently. In fact, very recently my acne has actually been pretty bad. I do think this toner helps, just not THAT significantly!

Overall, I’m going to rate this toner 4/5* rating. It is a decent toner and works really, really well! Incredibly so! I just hate the feeling of having product on my face after having used it.

I have officially now tried all of Lush’s currently available toners! As of 14/07/17, Eau Roma Water is my official favourite, and I’ll be sure to pick up a big bottle of the stuff once I have the money to do so, as that works out as being best value for money!

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo Review

Daddy-O Shampoo (100g):

Rating: 2/5*

Cons:

I found that I’d lose quite a bit of hair in the shower after using this shampoo… This is something I have found with a few of Lush’s shampoos (such as Cynthia Sylvia Stout,) so I know this wasn’t just a flukey thing! Maybe it is the SLS in the product, or perhaps it is just too drying on my hair. Either way, this was obviously definitely a con for me!

Daddy-O was difficult to lather up. I’d squirt a bit of shampoo into my hand and attempt to lather it into my hair, with little success. I’d have to repeat this process a few times before my hair felt like I had used enough shampoo to actually thoroughly clean it. I’d end up using probably around 4 squirts of shampoo on average to clean my hair properly – it would really depend on how many days I went without washing my hair! Anyway, this process could be quite time consuming and irritating!

I didn’t REALLY notice much of a change in the colour of my hair or anything. Maybe a slight change, but definitely not a massive one! (This shampoo is supposed to reduce brassy tones in blonde hair and make the hair appear brighter and lighter.)

I’d always need to both condition my hair AND apply R&B Hair Moisturiser after using Daddy-O, because it just wasn’t very nourishing!

The scent of Daddy-O is very sweet and quite a natural sort of scent – definitely not everyone’s cup of tea!

Pros:

This is a purple shampoo, some some people with very light hair may find that it helps to fend away those brassy tones!

This shampoo physically looks gorgeous! It is a gorgeous, deep, extremely pigmented purple colour, and has a metallic sheen to it.

I think the name of this shampoo is quite sweet!

This shampoo lasted me and my partner quite a long time. I received this shampoo on 1st February, and although I didn’t start using it right away, I did start using it not too long after receiving it. I used up the last bit of this shampoo on Sunday 8th May, which means it lasted both me and my partner around 3 months. Considering it was only a little 100g bottle of shampoo, I think this is pretty damn good!

This shampoo smells really good. It smells clean, fresh, and like Parma Violet sweets. It also has this very green undertone to it – almost a very pleasant woodsy, grassy scent. This undertone becomes much more prominent while using the shampoo in the shower, and I think is an aspect of the scent of this shower gel that is very special and unique! I LOVE the scent of Daddy-O shampoo!

This is one of Lush’s vegan shampoos, so you know you aren’t adding to the harm of any animals by using it 🙂

Although I didn’t notice much of a change in the colour of my hair or anything, I did notice that my hair did seem to be very SLIGHTLY lighter in general.

This being a Lush shampoo means it is pretty much all natural, and the ingredients are quite good for your hair!

Daddy-O definitely cleaned my hair very thoroughly!

After using Daddy-O, my hair would usually feel quite soft.

This shampoo really increased the volume of my hair! My hair always would feel rather thick compared to usual after having used this shampoo.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I wanted to love this shampoo – I really did! When it comes to a shampoo causing me to lose more hair than I usually would in the shower though, well, that’s a huge no-no. I’m not exactly what caused this – it isn’t something I found with most of the shampoos I have used from Lush, only a few of them. I think it could possibly be due to the shampoo not going very far once in the hair. This being the case has a knock on effect – it means I have to spend a lot of time to repeatedly add more product to my hair and trying to lather up. Perhaps this increased amount of time having SLS in contact with my roots caused some of my hair to fall out! Also, perhaps all the extra lathering I needed to do caused my hair to become a little tangled, and maybe some hair came out that way.

Overall, I’m afraid I’m going to give Daddy-O a rating of 2/5*. I’m giving it this rating because overall, using the product was a negative experience. Maybe continuously finding little locks of hair in the bath tub would be a good thing for some people who really want their hair thinned out, but I have extremely thin hair, so this was absolutely terrifying for me! I also don’t think it’s a very healthy thing to be happening in general… I would comb my hair very thoroughly with a fine toothed comb beforehand, so there would be no way that they were simply loose hairs/hairs that had already detached themselves from my head.

It is a real shame, because I really enjoyed so much about this shampoo! Ah well, until next time!

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner Water Review.

Hey guys, thank you for joining me today! 😀

I hope you have all enjoyed the weekend, and I hope you enjoy today’s review! 🙂

Tea Tree Water Toner Water (100g)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This tea tree toning water honestly doesn’t do very much for the skin, at least from what I found. It is a very, very diluted toner, and is extremely mild.

The smell of this toner might be off-putting for some people. It is a very strong scent, and in my opinion is more of a masculine scent than a feminine one. The scent reminds me of a weaker version of the general scent of a mens aftershave.

This toner was very, very slightly irritating on my skin as soon as it was applied. It left some areas of my face with redness, although this went very quickly.

I didn’t notice this toner doing anything much for oily skin or spots. It is very mild, so don’t expect any big results when using it!

Pros:

This being a mild toner makes it feel quite pleasant when applied to facial skin. Toners I have used in the past have sometimes actually caused spots on my face to bleed! This is definitely a toner for sensitive skin. The toner on a cotton round feels velvetty smooth to apply, and leaves the face feeling very soft and smooth.

I actually found this toner to be strangely moisturising. My face felt very plump and definitely felt much more hydrated after using this toner.

Using this toner after cleansing my face made my face feel 100% clean and extra fresh, and helped to wipe off any areas I may have missed while rinsing my cleanser off.

I personally love the smell of this toner. It smells very fresh, clean, refreshing, natural and wonderful!

This is a Lush toner, is vegan, cruelty free, ethical, handmade etc. This is reason enough to give it a go in my opinion!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I do like this toner. I do think the active ingredients in this toner are possibly a little bit too diluted with water, however, the formula still worked well with my skin.

I love the smell of it, I love the way it feels on my skin and overall, I do really enjoy its effects, however mild those effects may be. It is also from Lush, definitely a pro in my book.

I think this toner is ideal for skin that is not super oily or super dry or sensitive. I think this toner would be most ideal for normal, possibly slightly dry, slightly sensitive skin.

My skin is definitely combination and sensitive.

Overall, I rate this toner a 4/5*. I do quite like this toner, but how extremely diluted and mild it is definitely knocks off that fifth star. I think that it is expensive for what it is, but it does do something positive for my skin, no matter how small that something is.

I think if my skin was a bit less sensitive, this toner would work even better.

Honestly, I’d recommend the Tea Tree Toner Tab over this toner. All I do is put half the tab into a 60ml travel size spritzer bottle that I got from a travel kit in HEMA, fill the bottle up with water, shake it up and voila. The toner should keep until you use it all up if you use it a couple of times a day. This way, 1 tab makes 120g of product for £1 vesus 100g of product for £4.50.

I have also reviewed the toner tab, and overall gave it the same rating. It is harsher on the skin than this toner is, but definitely has other benefits that this toner does not. Definitely worth a try for £1!

Thank you for reading my review today guys!
