Lush Brazilliant Shampoo Bar Review.

Hey guys!

Here is a review of Lush’s Brazilliant Shampoo bar. I hope you enjoy!

Brazilliant Shampoo Bar:

Braziliant_web

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar does break into little pieces once it begins to get thin! I HATE that this happens to Lush’s shampoo bars – it’s such a pain to use little tiny pieces of shampoo bar, and I just can’t waste them and throw them in the bin! Using them tiny pieces of shampoo bar is a super time consuming process.

This shampoo bar does stick to whatever you leave it to dry on – although not massively. Regardless, it’s still an aspect of this product that I don’t enjoy very much!

I personally found the scent of Brazilliant to be a little artificial smelling. I’m not sure why this is. To me it smelled similar to a chemical-filled orange flavoured squash or something. Not terrible smelling, but not as good as it potentially could have been!

I didn’t notice any improvements to the condition of my hair while using Brazilliant.

Pros:

Now, I bought this shampoo bar for me and my partner to take with us for when we travelled to Mallorca! So, whenever I smell Brazilliant, the scent instantly makes me think of Summer and our time in Mallorca, which certainly isn’t a bad thing!

I think the overall scent of Brazilliant is quite fresh, uplifting and Summery. I’d definitely recommend trying our Brazilliant during the warmer half of the year!

This shampoo bar always left my hair feeling super clean, soft and not overly dried-out – even when not using a hair moisturiser of any kind afterwards. It didn’t leave my hair actually feeling moisturised, it just left it feeling fairly nice 🙂

Although Brazilliant does begin to break into pieces once it becomes really thin, it held together far better than I expected it to. I think for some reason I was under the impression that Brazilliant was a soft shampoo bar when I first purchased it, and that it would break into pieces really quickly. In actuality, it held together far better than most of the other shampoo bars I have tried from Lush!

Okay, this is a big pro that I only just remembered about this shampoo bar. IT LEAVES A SCENT IN YOUR HAIR! I’m not even kidding, this is the FIRST shampoo bar from Lush (I believe) that I have used that has actually left a scent in my hair after usage. The scent is really faint, but it is definitely there! It’s also a nice neutral scent – not many people are off-put by the scent of oranges, right?

The colour of Brazilliant is absolutely phenomenal. It is the brightest, happiest, opaquest orange you’ve ever seen! I absolutely love it, and again, it is super appropriate to have in the bathroom during the Summertime for this reason!

Brazilliant lathers up really beautifully, and lasts a very long time (around 3 months for me and my partner!)

Even the name of Brazilliant is really summery! This is like the ultimate happy Summer shampoo IMO 😉

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really enjoyed this shampoo bar – especially the concept of it 🙂 It wasn’t absolutely amazing though – Brazilliant didn’t help the condition of my hair out at all really, and I still got loads of split ends while using it! I definitely recommend using it during the Summer though, alongside a good moisturising product to keep your hair hydrated 🙂

Overall, I’m going to rate Brazilliant a 4/5* rating. It worked really well as a shampoo, despite its novel format, and is a really lovely product!

Lush New Shampoo Bar Review

New Shampoo Bar:

new_shampoo_bar_be_cruelty_free_solid_shot_1 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar doesn’t leave your hair feeling COMPLETELY cleansed. What I mean by this is that although it does leave your hair clean, it also seems to add something back into your hair. I don’t know if it’s the glycerine or the oils within this shampoo bar, but I know some people just want their hair to feel super squeaky clean when they are done with shampooing!

The scent isn’t sweet, fruity or foodsy. The scent of New is quite green, minty and spicy. It has a very fresh scent, with hints of earthy and woodsy scents thrown in there. I know some people aren’t drawn to these sorts of scents!

I found that the New shampoo bar did stick quite a bit to the surface that I would lay it on once I was done using it in the shower (I rested it on top of a shower jelly lid.) This would leave behind quite a bit of sticky shampoo bar residue, and was quite annoying!

Pros:

I personally think the way that New shampoo bar leaves your hair feeling is REALLY nice! It leaves your hair feeling slightly conditioned, which is something I personally appreciate 🙂 I found that the shampoo bar being fairly moisturising also meant that my hair would be more smooth, tame and manageable after washing my hair!

This is a really refreshing shampoo bar. The mint and spices in New make your scalp feel super fresh, and the scents that this bar gives off are just what anyone needs to help them wake up and feel energized!

New has a little wooden stick embedded in the top of the bar, that says #BeCrueltyFree on it. I think this is a really cute addition to the shampoo bar, and is something that you can keep afterwards if you’re insanely sentimental like I am…

Most importantly, New shampoo bar does its job! This shampoo bar always cleaned my hair as much as any other shampoo would do which, ultimately, is what is the purpose of a shampoo is in the first place.

The scent is very unisex in my opinion. Many of Lush’s products carry scents that can be very obviously geared toward females, by being stereotypically sweet, foodsy and fruity scented. That isn’t the case with New shampoo bar, which I think is fantastic!

New shampoo bar lathers up absolutely amazingly.

Shampoo bars always last a pretty good amount of time before they are completely used up, and this one is no different. It lasted me and my partner absolutely ages!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think New shampoo bar is definitely a very good option if you’re looking to try a new shampoo. It isn’t an absolutely perfect product, but I do think it is pretty amazing, especially for a shampoo! It just always left my hair feeling so amazing and more conditioned than most shampoos leave my hair, and made my hair overall feel really healthy.

Overall, I rate New shampoo bar a 5/5* rating. Again, it wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was good enough to warrant this rating!

I’d highly recommend giving this product a try if you haven’t done so already 🙂

Lush Sugar Scrub Shower Scrub Review

Sugar Scrub Shower Scrub:

Rating: 3/5*

Cons:

This sugar scrub was extremely abrasive to use! Sometimes after scrubbing my legs and arms, I would find little red streaks on my skin where I had used the scrub. If you have sensitive skin, DEFINITELY do not try this scrub!

After using this sugar scrub a few times, it had become rather damp and started to disintegrate. Any part of the scrub that this had happened to became a gel-like consistency, rather than a scrub – the gel was hardly scrubby at all! I think this is because of the scrub being made of sugar, so the scrub easily dissolves into water and combines to form a gel. If you’d prefer a hardier, more resilient scrub, I’d give on of Lush’s salt scrubs a try!

Sugar Scrub has a very herbal scent to it – it smells like fennel, lavender, ginger and slightly zesty. It predominantly smells like fennel and lavender though. I know a lot of people who really are not keen on those sorts of scents!

I didn’t really find that this scrub did THAT much for my skin. It never left my skin extremely soft, smooth or moisturised or anything like that. It wasn’t a mind-blowing product whatsoever.

I found Sugar Scrub to be a little messy, because of the fact that it would dissolve and form that gel-like substance between baths. I kept mine in the lid of a square Lush tin on the side of my bath tub. If you don’t like messy products, I’d give Sugar Scrub a miss!

Pros:

This is a really natural scrub. It’s mostly just sugar and oils. All the ingredients in this product are beneficial to the user to some way or another. It’s nice to know that you’re using such a natural product to exfoliate with 🙂

I really like the colour of Sugar Scrub! It is green, and makes me feel more like I’m using a very natural product that is good for my skin.

Sugar Scrub does work – toward the end of the product, I only had enough scrub left to exfoliate one of my legs. The scrubbed one was definitely felt much more smooth and silky than the unscrubbed one.

The scent of Sugar Scrub is very fresh.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I thought this scrub was just fine. It was fresh smelling and appearing product, and did its job (most of the time.) Sometimes the scrub would become too dissolved to work effectively as a scrub, and sometimes it would have the opposite problem, and feel far too harsh on my skin.

Although I enjoyed the freshness of Sugar Scrub’s scent, I’m not the biggest fan of the smell of fennel to be honest.

I don’t really have much more to say about it. It was a little boring to be honest, and wasn’t the best scrub I have used from Lush thus far. I’m going to rate this scrub a 3/5* rating – it did work for the most part, it just could really use some improvements here and there!

Lush Trichomania Solid Shampoo Review

Trichomania Solid Shampoo (100g):

IMG_4007 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar can be a little bit messy. It is a solid product, and you buy it “naked.” This means that it can leave behind residue wherever you set it down after washing your hair. It also means that this bar changed shape and texture over the course of its life, due to absorbing moisture. This solid shampoo is particularly soft to start with, so it becomes sticky and leaves behind  residue/changes shape/texture even more so than other solid products that Lush do. If you just aren’t a fan of the concept of Lush’s solid products in general, this one is no different – so steer clear!

This shampoo smelled like nuts to me, almost like peanut butter actually. It smelled closer to how I’d imagine almond butter would smell though – peanut butter’s sweeter cousin. It was a nice smell to me at least, but some people might really hate it!

This product seems to run out pretty quickly.

I find this shampoo to be more moisturising than most, meaning that my hair would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using it. I had to wash my fringe daily whilst using this shampoo because if I left more than a day between washing it, it would look pretty damn greasy!

This is an extremely simple looking product. It just looks like a chunk of cream coloured soap. If you are after an exciting looking product than maybe this one isn’t for you.

Pros:

This shampoo made my hair SO soft. Like, the softest a Lush shampoo has ever made my hair, without doubt. EXTREMELY soft!

This shampoo moisturised my hair. I have had so much less static since switching from Cythia Sylvia Stout to Trichomania, and I am SO GLAD for it! My hair feels really lovely after using this shampoo.

Even if my fringe (and sometimes my roots) would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using this shampoo, the rest of my hair wouldn’t. This shampoo was almost like a miniature treatment for my hair – it really nourished it and kept it looking and feeling so much healthier than usual!

I thought the smell was pretty nice! I love nutty smells 🙂

This is obviously a solid product, which makes it super travel-friendly 🙂

This shampoo lathered up SO WELL! It produced a lather extremely quickly whenever I went to use it, and the lather itself would be frothy and extremely creamy.

This shampoo always cleaned my hair so well!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I honestly loved this shampoo guys. It is so incredibly underrated – why is it so underrated?!? I honestly wouldn’t have tried this shampoo out for the longest time had I not been randomly sent some as a sample with one of my Lush samples. I think because the Solid Shampoo Bars are so popular, the Solid Shampoos just get given far less attention. This shampoo is a real game changer though.

My hair is very fine, quite long (below shoulder length,) blonde, thin and straight. It is also all natural and is completely unprocessed. My hair gets greasy pretty quickly but at the same time, the majority of my hair (anything that isn’t either my fringe or my roots) is pretty dry and lacking in moisture. I find fine, thin, straight hair is not only more prone to oiliness due to how easily oils can spread around the hair, but that is also more prone to dryness due to how difficult it is for this hair type to retain moisture. Basically, this sort of hair is the equivalent of combination skin – both dry and oily at the same time 😀

I’m going to have to give this product a 5/5* rating. It was pretty amazing, and I’m genuinely sad that I used up my piece. Usually I’m actually happy when I use up a product, because it means I get to write a review on it and that I get to try something new instead. I really miss it though!

I would HIGHLY recommend trying this shampoo out. TRUST me! It is absolutely wonderful!

Lush Jungle Solid Conditioner Review

This was a product I had wanted to try for the LONGEST time! It sounded amazing in theory – let’s see how it performed in reality!

Jungle Solid Conditioner:

Rating: 1/5*

Cons:

The scent of this solid conditioner is extremely pungent. It definitely isn’t a subtle scent, and is one that I think a lot of people won’t be into. The scent also smells almost perfumey, chemically and artificial when the product in sitting in your hair before being rinsed out. Definitely a bit of a turn off for me myself!

This conditioner is… well… I don’t know about my final opinion of this conditioner just yet, but I do know that it had a lot of negative traits. One of those traits being that while applying this conditioner to my hair, combing it through and while rinsing it out, I’d just  find my hair sort of… falling out… really easily. I’m not even kidding. I don’t know if it’s because the conditioner tugged at my hair and that my hair is very fragile or what it was. All I know is that I’d end up having lost quite a bit of hair after every shower where I had used Jungle Solid Conditioner! I’d just constantly find loads of strands of my hair on my hands and body throughout my shower… SO BAD!!!

This conditioner doesn’t do the best job at conditioning one’s hair. My hair would never feel fully conditioned after using this conditioner, and I’d have to turn to my R&B Hair Moisturiser for my hair to feel fully moisturised. Not a great one for dry hair!

The scent itself is somewhat of a masculine scent in my opinion. It smells very green and salty, very much like how you’d imagine a humid tropical jungle to smell! That might be your kinda thing, but it might not be!

A little does NOT go a long way with this conditioner – despite what anyone says!!! I have extremely fine hair so if the general idea is that a little bit goes a long way when it comes to solid conditioners, that should certainly be the case with my type of hair – right? Wrong. This conditioner ran out SO QUICKLY and even then, my hair never felt fully conditioned once it had dried – unless I had used my hair moisturiser!

This conditioner is kinda messy. Toward the end of my bar, it broke into loads of little pieces. The only way I managed to use those pieces was to smush them up in the palm of my hand to form a uniform paste, and then to apply that paste to my hair. I still lost some product down the drain though.

Pros:

I personally think the scent is super exciting – it makes me feel like I’m living in some tropical location using this uber natural scented, local conditioner. It smells really good to me, and the scent really brings adventurous thoughts to the forefront of my mind. I know it probably sounds bizarre that a scent could do this, but for me, it really does. It makes me just want to explore and live close to the tropical jungles and rain forests around the world… It is a perfect scent for those of you who are super adventurous at heart!

The conditioner is green, which makes me feel more like it is very natural. I really like the thought of using a natural conditioner in my hair – one that doesn’t contain silicon to create the illusion of well conditioned, healthy hair. I prefer my hair to be truly nourished! If you are interested in more natural products, perhaps give this conditioner a try.

I haven’t personally travelled with this conditioner, but I can tell it would be extremely travel friendly. You could just pop it in a sandwich bag and then straight into your backpack or suitcase, without worrying about any leakage, the quantity you are allowed to bring with you and without worrying about the hassle of re-bagging your conditioner when going through security at an airport. If you like to travel around, try this conditioner!

Although this product didn’t condition my hair THAT well, it definitely did condition my hair at least slightly. This conditioner definitely made my hair feel a little less dry.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I love the CONCEPT of this conditioner, but I really don’t like how it actually works in my hair – like, at all. I think it makes for a pretty terrible conditioner in fact. A really, really terrible conditioner (probably not as bad as Big Solid Conditioner though!) It has literally caused me to lose quite a bit of hair, and never conditoned my hair very nicely. The scent is also very artificial when applying the conditioner in the shower. I think it is an incredible shame because truly, the concept of this conditioner is amazing – a travel friendly, tropical and natural smelling conditioner, that inspires adventure in whoever uses it!

Unfortunately, I’m going to have to rate this conditioner a 1/5* rating. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how brilliant the concept of a product is. If it is going to cause you HAIR LOSS, it simply isn’t worth it!

If you think the idea of this conditioner sounds nice, I would recommend you try Sugar Daddy-O Solid Conditioner by Lush. It still smells delicious and is extremely travel friendly, but it also works really, really well and leaves your hair looking absolutely amazing!

Lush Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar Review

Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

Like all shampoo bars, this does leave a bit of a mess in whatever tray you store it in. Particles of purple shampoo bar seem almost permanently welded to my square lush tin that I kept this shampoo bar in!

To me, this shampoo bar smells sort of like a good ol’ gin and tonic – something I’m sure is not everyone’s cup of tea!

The smell didn’t cling to my hair at all, and because I personally enjoyed the scent, this was a con for me.

This shampoo bar is an online exclusive, so you’ll have to do an online shop and pay for postage to get your hands on one of these!

Pros:

This lathers up like crazy. This is the shampoo that lathers more than any other I have tried from Lush (Jumping Juniper is at least the fifth that I have tried!) You can literally see the foam collecting around the plug hole as you wash it out of your hair. It is absolutely incredible!

This lasts for ages!

The colour is super pretty.

I really like the smell – it smells like gin and tonic to me, so basically a sort of slightly peppery lemon/lime scent. It is really refreshing and interesting 🙂

This definitely washed my hair absolutely brilliantly.

This shampoo bar was the least awkward. What I mean by this is that the shampoo bar stayed in its form until it became very small, at which point the separate pieces still sort of stuck together, so it wasn’t very difficult to use at all.

My hair always felt lovely using this shampoo bar. It says it is very cleansing, and although it did clean my hair very well, it certainly did not strip it. I haven’t even been using a conditioner for quite a long time, yet this shampoo would leave my hair so shiny and silky and smooth and lovely – especially with second day hair!

I even got my partner into using this shampoo over his regular one – I convinced him that it was quicker and easier to use than regular shampoo and after trying it, he saw that I was telling the truth. As far as I know, he has used shampoo bars since 🙂

This washes out very nicely. You do need to rinse it out quite thoroughly, but it definitely washes out faster than regular shampoo.

Overall conclusion:

Overall, I could not possibly give this shampoo a poor rating after what it has done for my hair. It just was such value for money – it lathered insanely well and really left my hair feeling lovely. It wasn’t anything extremely special, but it did it’s job very well – what more could you ask for from a shampoo?

I’m going to give this shampoo bar a rating of… hmm… I couldn’t give it any less than 5/5*. Although it is a simple product and doesn’t have a specific exciting theme (like Seanik for example,) it just did its job so, so well. I really enjoyed it!
