Lush Brazilliant Shampoo Bar Review.

Hey guys!

Here is a review of Lush’s Brazilliant Shampoo bar. I hope you enjoy!

(Photo from Lush UK website.)

Brazilliant Shampoo Bar:

Braziliant_web

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar does break into little pieces once it begins to get thin! I HATE that this happens to Lush’s shampoo bars – it’s such a pain to use little tiny pieces of shampoo bar, and I just can’t waste them and throw them in the bin! Using them tiny pieces of shampoo bar is a super time consuming process.

This shampoo bar does stick to whatever you leave it to dry on – although not massively. Regardless, it’s still an aspect of this product that I don’t enjoy very much!

I personally found the scent of Brazilliant to be a little artificial smelling. I’m not sure why this is. To me it smelled similar to a chemical-filled orange flavoured squash or something. Not terrible smelling, but not as good as it potentially could have been!

I didn’t notice any improvements to the condition of my hair while using Brazilliant.

Pros:

Now, I bought this shampoo bar for me and my partner to take with us for when we travelled to Mallorca! So, whenever I smell Brazilliant, the scent instantly makes me think of Summer and our time in Mallorca, which certainly isn’t a bad thing!

I think the overall scent of Brazilliant is quite fresh, uplifting and Summery. I’d definitely recommend trying our Brazilliant during the warmer half of the year!

This shampoo bar always left my hair feeling super clean, soft and not overly dried-out – even when not using a hair moisturiser of any kind afterwards. It didn’t leave my hair actually feeling moisturised, it just left it feeling fairly nice 🙂

Although Brazilliant does begin to break into pieces once it becomes really thin, it held together far better than I expected it to. I think for some reason I was under the impression that Brazilliant was a soft shampoo bar when I first purchased it, and that it would break into pieces really quickly. In actuality, it held together far better than most of the other shampoo bars I have tried from Lush!

Okay, this is a big pro that I only just remembered about this shampoo bar. IT LEAVES A SCENT IN YOUR HAIR! I’m not even kidding, this is the FIRST shampoo bar from Lush (I believe) that I have used that has actually left a scent in my hair after usage. The scent is really faint, but it is definitely there! It’s also a nice neutral scent – not many people are off-put by the scent of oranges, right?

The colour of Brazilliant is absolutely phenomenal. It is the brightest, happiest, opaquest orange you’ve ever seen! I absolutely love it, and again, it is super appropriate to have in the bathroom during the Summertime for this reason!

Brazilliant lathers up really beautifully, and lasts a very long time (around 3 months for me and my partner!)

Even the name of Brazilliant is really summery! This is like the ultimate happy Summer shampoo IMO 😉

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really enjoyed this shampoo bar – especially the concept of it 🙂 It wasn’t absolutely amazing though – Brazilliant didn’t help the condition of my hair out at all really, and I still got loads of split ends while using it! I definitely recommend using it during the Summer though, alongside a good moisturising product to keep your hair hydrated 🙂

Overall, I’m going to rate Brazilliant a 4/5* rating. It worked really well as a shampoo, despite its novel format, and is a really lovely product!

Lush New Shampoo Bar Review

New Shampoo Bar:

new_shampoo_bar_be_cruelty_free_solid_shot_1 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar doesn’t leave your hair feeling COMPLETELY cleansed. What I mean by this is that although it does leave your hair clean, it also seems to add something back into your hair. I don’t know if it’s the glycerine or the oils within this shampoo bar, but I know some people just want their hair to feel super squeaky clean when they are done with shampooing!

The scent isn’t sweet, fruity or foodsy. The scent of New is quite green, minty and spicy. It has a very fresh scent, with hints of earthy and woodsy scents thrown in there. I know some people aren’t drawn to these sorts of scents!

I found that the New shampoo bar did stick quite a bit to the surface that I would lay it on once I was done using it in the shower (I rested it on top of a shower jelly lid.) This would leave behind quite a bit of sticky shampoo bar residue, and was quite annoying!

Pros:

I personally think the way that New shampoo bar leaves your hair feeling is REALLY nice! It leaves your hair feeling slightly conditioned, which is something I personally appreciate 🙂 I found that the shampoo bar being fairly moisturising also meant that my hair would be more smooth, tame and manageable after washing my hair!

This is a really refreshing shampoo bar. The mint and spices in New make your scalp feel super fresh, and the scents that this bar gives off are just what anyone needs to help them wake up and feel energized!

New has a little wooden stick embedded in the top of the bar, that says #BeCrueltyFree on it. I think this is a really cute addition to the shampoo bar, and is something that you can keep afterwards if you’re insanely sentimental like I am…

Most importantly, New shampoo bar does its job! This shampoo bar always cleaned my hair as much as any other shampoo would do which, ultimately, is what is the purpose of a shampoo is in the first place.

The scent is very unisex in my opinion. Many of Lush’s products carry scents that can be very obviously geared toward females, by being stereotypically sweet, foodsy and fruity scented. That isn’t the case with New shampoo bar, which I think is fantastic!

New shampoo bar lathers up absolutely amazingly.

Shampoo bars always last a pretty good amount of time before they are completely used up, and this one is no different. It lasted me and my partner absolutely ages!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think New shampoo bar is definitely a very good option if you’re looking to try a new shampoo. It isn’t an absolutely perfect product, but I do think it is pretty amazing, especially for a shampoo! It just always left my hair feeling so amazing and more conditioned than most shampoos leave my hair, and made my hair overall feel really healthy.

Overall, I rate New shampoo bar a 5/5* rating. Again, it wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was good enough to warrant this rating!

I’d highly recommend giving this product a try if you haven’t done so already 🙂

Lush Rehab Shampoo Review

Rehab Shampoo (100g):

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

I find Lush liquid shampoos to make my hair a little bit tangled. It isn’t a huge issue, but it is definitely something I did notice occur with this particular shampoo.

The scent is very strong! To me it smells like sweet fruit, lavender, mint and tea tree. Mostly mint and tea tree to me, although it actually does not contain any tea tree whatsoever! If you don’t like those sorts of scents, I’d try a different Lush shampoo.

It was very difficult to know how much of this product I would need to use at a time. This shampoo is somehow super inconsistent! Sometimes I’d only need the tiniest amount to lather up my entire head of hair, and other times I’d have to add additional shampoo to my hair 3 or 4 times before being satisfied with the lather.

I don’t fully like the name of this product. Rehab is a word with many negative associations – things I don’t particularly want to pop into my mind whenever I go to wash my hair! I haven’t even be to rehab, but I’m sure this name would be even more disturbing for anyone that has!

Rehab is a very simple shampoo – some people only love Lush for the colourful, creative, innovative, unusual looking products! If you just find simple products to be boring, I’d try a shampoo bar instead!

Pros:

I personally love the scent of this shampoo. It was so unexpected, because most of the ingredients are fruit juices. It really does smell like mint, tea tree and a hint of lavender. It is just the most clarifying, clean smell and I absolutely love it! It also has a sweetness to it, that reminds me of the scent of hard boiled minty sweets.

I think the scent of this product does wonders for your mind too. The clarity of the scent just makes you feel refreshed, de-stressed, clear and ready to start the day with a fresh mind. If you are a person that experiences negative moods / negative ways of thinking frequently, I’d highly recommend you try this shampoo!

Again, for a friend who experiences negative moods often, this would make a really thoughful gift to them! The name might be a tad offensive, but if you just explain to them that the purpose you thought they would like the product is how clarifying and uplifting the scent is, I’m sure they’d be very appreciative!

Okay, so the name is a little odd. BUT, it does make my mind instantly start playing Amy Winehouse’s ‘Rehab’ in my mind – which isn’t such a bad thing!

The consistency of this shampoo is really lovely, as is the colour of it! It is just a super pale, transparent cream colour. Really simple and nice 🙂

I found this shampoo to be quite softening on my hair, and found that it generally lathered up quite well.

This shampoo cleans hair very well.

I found Rehab to have a slightly thickening effect on my hair!

My hair has seemed stronger recently than it usually does. I have extremely fine blonde hair, and usually it feels quite weak. I definitely think Rehab has helped with the strength of my hair!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think this was a really nice shampoo. It was pretty basic, but felt somewhat like a staple product – everyone could do with a bottle of Rehab in their shower!

Honestly, I didn’t notice any massive change when using this shampoo. My hair does seem thicker and healthier than it used to, but I still lose a lot of hair whilst in the shower, my hair still gets greasy quickly etc. I think that I do overall like this shampoo – it just isn’t absolutely perfect I suppose!

Overall, I’m going to rate Rehab a 4 or a 5 star rating. It is difficult to pick between the two… I’m rating Rehab a 5/5* rating. I was going to give it a 4* rating but honestly, my hair has just been in much better shape recently, which will at least be partially due to Rehab. I’ve hardly been noticing any split ends in my hair and my hair has been both thicker and stronger.

Lush Trichomania Solid Shampoo Review

Trichomania Solid Shampoo (100g):

IMG_4007 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar can be a little bit messy. It is a solid product, and you buy it “naked.” This means that it can leave behind residue wherever you set it down after washing your hair. It also means that this bar changed shape and texture over the course of its life, due to absorbing moisture. This solid shampoo is particularly soft to start with, so it becomes sticky and leaves behind  residue/changes shape/texture even more so than other solid products that Lush do. If you just aren’t a fan of the concept of Lush’s solid products in general, this one is no different – so steer clear!

This shampoo smelled like nuts to me, almost like peanut butter actually. It smelled closer to how I’d imagine almond butter would smell though – peanut butter’s sweeter cousin. It was a nice smell to me at least, but some people might really hate it!

This product seems to run out pretty quickly.

I find this shampoo to be more moisturising than most, meaning that my hair would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using it. I had to wash my fringe daily whilst using this shampoo because if I left more than a day between washing it, it would look pretty damn greasy!

This is an extremely simple looking product. It just looks like a chunk of cream coloured soap. If you are after an exciting looking product than maybe this one isn’t for you.

Pros:

This shampoo made my hair SO soft. Like, the softest a Lush shampoo has ever made my hair, without doubt. EXTREMELY soft!

This shampoo moisturised my hair. I have had so much less static since switching from Cythia Sylvia Stout to Trichomania, and I am SO GLAD for it! My hair feels really lovely after using this shampoo.

Even if my fringe (and sometimes my roots) would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using this shampoo, the rest of my hair wouldn’t. This shampoo was almost like a miniature treatment for my hair – it really nourished it and kept it looking and feeling so much healthier than usual!

I thought the smell was pretty nice! I love nutty smells 🙂

This is obviously a solid product, which makes it super travel-friendly 🙂

This shampoo lathered up SO WELL! It produced a lather extremely quickly whenever I went to use it, and the lather itself would be frothy and extremely creamy.

This shampoo always cleaned my hair so well!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I honestly loved this shampoo guys. It is so incredibly underrated – why is it so underrated?!? I honestly wouldn’t have tried this shampoo out for the longest time had I not been randomly sent some as a sample with one of my Lush samples. I think because the Solid Shampoo Bars are so popular, the Solid Shampoos just get given far less attention. This shampoo is a real game changer though.

My hair is very fine, quite long (below shoulder length,) blonde, thin and straight. It is also all natural and is completely unprocessed. My hair gets greasy pretty quickly but at the same time, the majority of my hair (anything that isn’t either my fringe or my roots) is pretty dry and lacking in moisture. I find fine, thin, straight hair is not only more prone to oiliness due to how easily oils can spread around the hair, but that is also more prone to dryness due to how difficult it is for this hair type to retain moisture. Basically, this sort of hair is the equivalent of combination skin – both dry and oily at the same time 😀

I’m going to have to give this product a 5/5* rating. It was pretty amazing, and I’m genuinely sad that I used up my piece. Usually I’m actually happy when I use up a product, because it means I get to write a review on it and that I get to try something new instead. I really miss it though!

I would HIGHLY recommend trying this shampoo out. TRUST me! It is absolutely wonderful!

Lush Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo Review

Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo (100g)

Rating: 2/5*

Cons:

This shampoo made my hair really, really knotty. My hair is very, very, VERY fine and is below shoulder length, so it gets tangled very easily as is! This shampoo definitely didn’t help with that problem in the slightest, and just made it far worse. If you’re chill with having extremely knotty, thin, breakable, unhealthy hair then sure, try this shampoo…

This shampoo made my hair feel like sh*t in general. Some of the horrible effects this shampoo gave my hair: Made my hair more static, made my hair even more knotty, made my hair feel less healthy, dried out my hair, made my hair more prone to breakage and damage… It got to the point where I just really didn’t want to use this shampoo anymore, and was quite glad when my partner did instead. I really had high hopes for this shampoo but honestly, it was a massive let down!

I had to use quite a bit of product for my hair to even be shampooed properly. Getting the right amount of product in my hair took a lot of trial and error.

This shampoo left my hair really, really flat and lifeless after use. I hated it so much!!!

Sometimes my hair would appear to have more volume – but not exactly in a good way. My hair would be flat at the roots and really static and horrid everywhere else!

Pros:

My partner LOVED this shampoo. He really enjoyed it. He’s a he, and has short, thick hair, so maybe this shampoo is more well suited to those sorts of traits? I don’t know, but I’m glad he enjoyed it all the same!

This shampoo did make my hair shinier, which is something I have been enjoying recently.

This shampoo did clean my hair very well, which is something I’m happy about.

I really liked the smell of this one. A very light, sweet, syruppy, natural lemon smell. It always left my partner’s hair smelling really lovely too!

A little 100g bottle of this is very affordable for a shampoo from Lush (£4.75!)

This is a vegan shampoo from Lush – just those things along make this shampoo worth a go in my opinion!

This shampoo is SUPPOSED to make your hair more voluminous and strong, and is supposed to be gentle. Although I didn’t personally find it to be any of those things really, maybe this product will do these things in someone else’s hair.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I’m not going to lie, I hated this shampoo. I absolutely hated it. It has made my hair more of a nightmare to work with than it usually is around this time of the year. My partner did love it however, so I would recommend trying this shampoo if you have short hair, thick hair or both!

This is a shampoo where it would be absolutely terrible to skip the conditioner with, however unprocessed and healthy your hair is.

I’m unfortunately going to have to rate this shampoo a 2/5* rating, and it is only getting that high a rating due to the fact that my partner really enjoyed it.

If you want to try a shampoo that really does improve one’s hair, I’d try either Seanik or Jumping Juniper Solid Shampoo Bars from Lush’s range!

Products from Lush that I would LOVE to try!

You know them people who hear raves about a product, believes the hype is absolute rubbish and actually end up steering away from it altogether?

I’m one of those.

I’m someone who somehow ends up generally liking the products that people usually like less, and disliking the products people usually like more. For example – love Aqua Marina, not so keen on Angels On Bare Skin. Think Sakura bath bomb is an absolute babe, but Lord Of Misrule… meh… Definitely nowhere near as good as I had expected it to be!

This isn’t me thinking I’m some special flower. When I do like I popular product, I’m always pleasantly surprised that the opinion of the masses fell true to me too! In fact, that event is exactly what made me want to write this post.

Yesterday, I tried Let The Good Times Roll cleanser for the first time ever and wow. Wow. Now, sometimes my opinion of a product changes and develops over the time it takes to use up the entire product, which is why I won’t be reviewing it yet – but I can say with a fairly high degree of certainty that the review for this one will be good. I was so pleasantly surprised.

So many times I have heard Lushies vouching for the effectiveness of this product and so many times have I entered a Lush store and been told that I should give it a go by an employee. Each of these occasions just turned me off the idea more and more!

During my mahoosive Boxing Day haul (which I really do hope I post about soon, it was bloody brilliant!,) I grabbed myself one of the Festive Fresh gift sets – which includes the wonderful Christmas exclusive Buche De Noel, and also Let The Good Times Roll.

Anyway, after discovering that Let The Good Times Roll actually probably will turn out to be as good as it’s hyped up to be, I wanted to make a list of well-loved Lush products that I’d love to give a go!

Here’s to my quest in finding my absolute favourite products from every category from Lush!

Body

Brightside Bubble Bar – This Bubble Bar looks so bright and colourful. I always had thought that a general citrussy scent might be a bit… simple? I thought that this product had perhaps been hyped up a bit too much but you know what? This bath product has a whopping overall rating of 4.7*, which is the average rating of 250 different reviews! I like to take a bath pretty much every single day. If I’m going to be taking baths so frequently, perhaps it’s about time I give Brightside a try!

Lush Gardener Cold Pressed Soap – I have never thought that this soap looks very pretty. It is a mossy, earthy, greeny brown colour, with a watering can image in the center. Despite it not looking all that nice, this soap has an average rating of 5* on the Lush website. I love using Lush soaps to wash my hands and I think it is about time I give this guy a try!

93,000 Miles Shower Jelly – Shower jellies…hmm… I own a few, but have never finished them and I’m not 100% sure what to think of them. I have always stayed away from this one in particular, because I know that it has a clovey, spicy sort of scent. I do like spicy scents, but sweet spicy scents. I’ve always been sort of wary about the type of scent this product might have. It does however have a rating of 4.7/5*, and surely not everyone who reviews this product can be wrong? I do have very achy muscles so perhaps this is one unexpected item that I’ll actually end up falling in love with if I only give it a chance!

Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub – Now, this is a product that I actually have wanted to try for a while. It looks and smells nice and is quite affordable in my opinion – the only thing that has been putting me off is that I have high expectations for it. When I have high expectations for a product, my expectations are rarely met! This is a scrub with a rating of 4.7/5*, and that is the average rating of 320 reviews of the product! Again, those reviews can’t all be wrong, surely! I think it is about time I get over my fear of being disappointed, and give this scrub a try!

Salted Coconut Hand Scub – This just has always seemed like such a basic, over-shadowed product, so I’ve never really had much interest in trying it. It does have decent reviews though, and is the only scrub specifically for hands that Lush do. Time to try it!

Dream Cream Body Lotion – Again, a product that just always seemed so simple and almost boring to me. It does have insanely good reviews, and I have learnt over time that often the simpler products are the best products.

Handy Guruguru Hand Cream – I’m not the type of person to really buy hand creams. I just usually use a general body lotion on my hands. This hand cream sounds super nourishing though and is definitely a popular one.

Golden Handshake Hot Hand Mask – The only hand mask Lush do! I’ve heard both many good things and many bad things about this hand mask, and think it’s about time I form an opinion on it of my own.

Twinkle Toes Foot Powder – Now, I’m not a… feet… person… ugh… even hearing the word in my head sends a shiver down my spine. Due to my hatred for… feet… I do tend to neglect them somewhat. I’ll give them a scrub in the shower, and I’ll use lotion on them, but that’s about it. This powder has incredible reviews – perhaps it’s time to give my…feet…ugh… a little TLC…? Maybe…

Volcano Foot Mask – The only foot mask Lush do!

Foot Soak And Fancy Free Foot Soak – Again, this is the only foot soak Lush do and it is super affordable considering how many uses you get out of it. Would love to give this one a try!

Pumice Power Foot Soap – The only foot soap Lush do!

Go Faster Feet Foot Lotion – So, as I said earlier, I usually just use a normal body lotion on my feet to keep them soft. I tend to use quite a lot when I do this though, because the body lotion I use is quite thin in consistency. Perhaps a thicker lotion specifically for my feet would do me some good!

Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar – I love a good massage, but have always steered away from this particular massage bar if I’m honest with you. It just seems like such a typical product for everyone to love. It’s pink and girly, big, and smells of strawberries – of course most girls are going to love it…! It does have super good reviews though, so maybe it’s about time I stop steering away from the products that everyone loves. I mean, they love it for a reason!

Five O’ Clock Whistle Shaving Cream – This is the only shaving cream from Lush I can actually use because I am a vegan, but I’ve always steered away from it because it looks as though it is geared more toward a male audience. It has lovely reviews from women though, and I’d love to try it now!

Black Stockings Body Tint – I’ve never tried fake tan of any kind before, but I have been interested to see what it is like. I feel like if I were to, going for a Lushy option would be my best bet, because I’d rather keep it as natural as possible!

Shimmy Shimmy Shimmer Bar – This is definitely another one of those products that I’ve just never had much interest in trying. After having a look at it and reading the reviews however, it seems right up my alley. It sounds absolutely fantastic for using when in a nice, warm location, to make your legs and body look extra glowy and beautiful!

The Guv’Ner Deodorant Powder – Another product type that I’ve always steered away from when it comes to Lush. I like to use a strong anti-perspirant because if I don’t, well… It isn’t a good scene let me tell you that! But that doesn’t mean I couldn’t give one of their deodorants a try, perhaps even just as an extra layer over the top of my regular anti-perspirant, just to keep me smelling alright all day! This one has fantastic reviews.

Silky Underwear Dusting Powder – I have never tried a dusting powder before, I’d like to give one a try. Who knows – maybe it turns out to be my holy grail Lush product…?!

The Sunblock Solid Sunscreen Wash – SPF 30 High – Another product that one wouldn’t usually think to purchase from Lush. The concept of it really is brilliant though – a wash on sunscreen – plus it works according to the reviews! One to invest in for the Summer I reckon!

Face

Eu Roma Water Toner Water

Kalamazoo Beard And Facial Wash – A product with an insanely high rating that both men and women appear to love! I need to stop being scared by words like… “beard”… and just pay attention to the fact that it is primarily a facial cleanser!

Ocean Salt Self-Preserving And Alcohol Free – I’ve tried the normal self preserving Ocean Salt, but never the alcohol free version.

Oatifix Fresh Face Mask – This one is so popular, but I’ve still never tried it! I think the fact that it was a hydrating mask used to put me off – I used to much prefer the super cleansing masks. Recently though, I have been having much drier skin, and I reckon a hydrating mask would actually do me a world of good! I seem to have misplaced my little stack of black pots but once I find them, I’ll definitely be grabbing this little guy!

Celestial Moisturiser – Another super simple product, hence why I’ve never thought to give it a try before. The reviews make it sound absolutely lovely though, so I’ll like to try this one ASAP – especially considering I don’t currently own a Lush moisturiser!

Atomic Tooth Powder – I’ve always been a bit nervous of using these Lush teeth products. I have tried a couple, but knowing that my dentist will always recommend fluoride toothpaste does scare me a little. I mean, surely they’re more of an expect on oral care and on effects of different types of toothpastes than I am..? I’m really not 100% sure on these teeth products however they have been tested and proven to often work even better than your standard toothpaste. Maybe it really will work better than my fluorine toothpaste? I think it’s worth a shot, and if I’m going to be trying one of Lush’s teeth products, this is one that I think sounds pretty good. It has very good reviews!

Ultrabalm All Purpose Balm – Another one of those random products that noone would really think to buy from Lush! It is expensive, but sounds like such a fantastic product. I’d probably primarily use it for my lips, because they get so insanely dry. I’m sure it would last absolutely ages!

Hair

Big Shampoo – Okay, so this is a mahoosive cult classic in the world of Lush hair care. Again, that is precisely why I have steered clear of it! It isn’t exactly cheap, so if I don’t follow everyone’s opinion of this shampoo…? I’ve been really unkeen on trying this product – I’m quite happy with using shampoo bars to be honest. But again, if I don’t try it, how will I know whether it is truly as bloody brilliant as everyone makes it out to be? I think it’s worth a shot for sure!

No Drought Dry Shampoo – I wash my hair daily. Just had to put that out there first. That’s why dry shampoos have never really appealed to me. If they can make me go a little bit further between washes though… why not give it a try? Maybe it will end up being a true game changer for me!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume – Yikes. I have thought about getting this conditioner, but was put off by the insane cost. It is really popular though! Time to save up or just grab myself a sample of the stuff I think!

Superbalm Scalp Treatment – I’ve always had a bit of a flaky scalp, and my hair tends to grow in quite thin and sparse. Perhaps this will help?

R&B Hair Moisturiser – Another one I’ve been extremely excited to try for the longest time!

6Tangled Hot Oil Treatment – Because of my hair being so fine and wispy, it does get tangled and knotty really easily. This treatment sounds like it would do my hair a world of good!

Mr Dandy’s Hair Candy Hair Dressing – This product sounds lovely to use to create some waves in the hair or something. I used to be non-stop primping my hair. I loved dying it, styling it, cutting it, layering it, adding fringes etc etc etc. I just loved to be creative with it and make it feel like it was “mine”, if that makes any sense. I always absolutely loved my hair, because I wouldn’t stop altering it until I thought it was absolutely perfect. Recently (around a couple of years ago,) I decided to favour health over creative hair. I’ve been on a mission to re-grow my natural hair and for it to all be my natural colour, natural texture and for it to just be grown long, without many cuts at all except for possibly trimming any split ends off every now and then, and maybe possibly cutting in a fringe every now and then. Anyways, my mission has been going well, but my hair is extremely plain, and in turn that makes me look like a right plain Jane! Hoping that some of these Lush hair products will add a little bit of personality, interest and uniqueness to my hair, without damaging it!

Sea Spray Hair Mist – Another styling product that I’m hoping will seriously up my hair game!

Veerappan Moustache Wax – Now, I know what you’re thinking. Yes, I am a woman and no, I don’t have a moustache. What I do have though, are eyebrows. I have heard many a good think about using this product to keep those pesky, stubborn eyebrow hairs into place. I thought I could use this to keep my brow hairs looking neat and in the position I want them to be in all day! My eyebrows are especially messy because my brow hairs are very long and I know you’re supposed to trim them to keep your brows looking neat, but if I did that, my brows would look insanely sparse. I need all the hair!

Makeup

Okay, so I’m not 100% happy with the concept of makeup as it is. I mean, I love doing my makeup, I really, really do, and it is something I will very rarely leave the house without or take photos of myself without. But, however beautiful it makes me look, I only really use it because I don’t feel naturally very beautiful. It is sad, but that is the truth. I’d much prefer investing my money in making my skin and hair etc become naturally beautiful, than investing in colouring to cover up my natural self.

I do plan to buy Lush makeup, don’t get me wrong. It just isn’t really my priority right now, as I’m focusing more on making my skin etc healthier and therefore more beautiful, rather than focussing on just looking nice in itself. So, even if a makeup item from Lush was super raved about and had an excellent rating, and even if Lush makeup products are actually good for the skin, makeup is something that you’ll always have to just wash off at the end of the day… I dunno, maybe I’m turning into a bit of a hippie or something. I suppose I’m just not so into the idea of makeup as I used to be!

Perfume

Karma Gorilla Perfume – An extreme cult classic. With such fantastic reviews, perhaps it’s time I give it a shot..?

That’s just about everything – whew! 37 items in my wishlist!

So, now some questions for you to answer in the comments section!

Do you recommend AGAINST any of the products I have listed above? Are any of the above products some of your favourites from Lush? If you have any opinions on the products I have listed above, PLEASE comment them below, I’d really appreciate reading them!

– Storm

(I only included main-line products that can be found in every store at any time of the year, and which are entirely non-exclusive. I love trying all types of Lush products, but would be happiest of course if my favourites turned out to be main-line products that I could re-purchase easily! I also picked one item for each different use, e.g. one shampoo, one conditioner, one item to wash the body with, one item to use in the bath etc. I only need one favourite for each type of product! Finally, I selected out of vegan items and items that I don’t currently own. I made my final choices by choosing the item with the highest rating. Let’s hope I find some 5* gems out of these!)

Lush Karma Komba Shampoo Bar Review

Karma Komba Shampoo Bar

Rating: 4/5

Cons:

The scent of this shampoo bar is quite heady and heavy, and I could imagine it making some people not feel great. If strong incensey scents don’t agree with you, don’t try this shampoo bar!

This shampoo bar runs out very quickly and sticks to its container very easily. This means that you get less uses out of this shampoo bar than a lot of the others that Lush make. I believe this is because this shampoo bar is quite soft.

It’s green! The residue this bar leaves behind could definitely be mistaken for mould in some cases, and it is a bit of an odd colour for a cleansing beauty product!

This bar has a flower stuck in it, and when the shampoo bar runs out, this flower will just fall down the plug hole… I’m not too sure that this is good for drains… I feel like it might help clog them up!

The flower in the shampoo bar is sort of, well, dead.

I found this shampoo bar to be slightly more difficult to lather up than others from Lush that I have tried.

I don’t know why, but the scent reminds me a bit of school… and exams… I think it’s because I first started using this shampoo bar when I began sitting my exams in May this year. Either way, that was definitely a con for me!

Pros:

I think the colour is generally quite nice. It is unusual, but it being green makes it appear more herbal, healthy and natural. I think the colour is quite fun for the most part!

The smell is definitely interesting – an exotic, zesty, incensey sort of a scent. It sort of smells… mystical, alluring… I don’t know. It’s really nice though, even if it is a little heavy!

This shampoo bar lathers up quite nicely, even if it does take longer than other shampoo bars to do so. It is more of a creamy lather, which I think is why it takes a bit longer to lather up. The lather definitely feels healthier for the hair than, well, possibly every other shampoo I have used from Lush come to think of it. If you are looking for a softer, gentler, conditioning shampoo, I’d give this one a try for sure!

A product from Lush that is vegan, cruelty free, all natural and handmade – give it a go!

The flower, although dead, is still a cute little addition to the shampoo bar.

It cleaned my hair very well.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this is a nice shampoo bar. It is very unique, and I could see it working really well for some people.

Overall, I give this shampoo bar a rating of 4/5* rating. I know it seems like I give everything that rating recently, but it’s just my honest opinion of these products! I guess I just generally think that most Lush products are very, very good, but not perfect. Either way, I love trying every single one of them so much!

I actually used up a bath bomb before this shampoo bar, but the photos of it are on my phone which is why I decided to do this Karma Komba review first. That review will be up very shortly though!
