Lush Igloo Soap Review

Hey guys!

So this was a Christmas exclusive soap from Lush back in 2016. I purchased a good block of the stuff (yellow in colour) and have only just finished it using it up! I bought SO many soaps that year that I’ve just been slowly making my way through them. I still have 5 other soaps from that year that I’m working on using up! Regardless, I hope you enjoy this review 🙂

Igloo Soap (100g):

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

My piece of this soap was yellow (I believe you could get the soap in either red, orange, green or yellow.) The colour of this soap was so vibrant that it would leave bright yellow marks on my sink! It washed off easily, but it just meant having to wash the sink more often to keep it looking nice.

I don’t particularly remember my hands being soft or feeling moisturised when I used this soap. If anything, it was very, very slightly drying to my hands.

Although I really liked the colour of the soap, it was pretty basic and didn’t really “go” with anything in the bathroom. It was just plain in design – no lustre or other colours swirled in there or anything, and was such a bright yellow that I could only see it looking good in a predominantly yellow room.

The scent of this soap is mainly citrus (lemon,) and I know that a LOT of people are very bored and tired of all the citrus scented products that Lush makes!

Pros:

I LOVED the scent of this soap personally! It smelled like lemon flavoured turkish delight – a soft, sweet, icing-sugary, powdery, lemony, rosy scent. It is definitely one of the best smelling Lush soap that I have used thus far!

The smell would always cling to my hands after using it. The scent of the soap is non-offensive because of how soft of a smell it has, so the scent clinging to my hands was never a bad thing.

The colour of this soap was gorgeous. It was a delicious, bright, zesty, lemony yellow colour. Super uplifting to look at!

Igloo soap always did a good job of washing my hands thoroughly.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this was a nice soap. I loved the scent of it, but besides that… I just really don’t have too much to say about this product overall! Besides the scent it was honestly a pretty basic soap.

Overall, I’m going to rate Igloo soap a 4/5* rating. It was a nice soap and was better than average – it just wasn’t anything special really!

Lush Brazilliant Shampoo Bar Review.

Hey guys!

Here is a review of Lush’s Brazilliant Shampoo bar. I hope you enjoy!

(Photo from Lush UK website.)

Brazilliant Shampoo Bar:

Braziliant_web

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar does break into little pieces once it begins to get thin! I HATE that this happens to Lush’s shampoo bars – it’s such a pain to use little tiny pieces of shampoo bar, and I just can’t waste them and throw them in the bin! Using them tiny pieces of shampoo bar is a super time consuming process.

This shampoo bar does stick to whatever you leave it to dry on – although not massively. Regardless, it’s still an aspect of this product that I don’t enjoy very much!

I personally found the scent of Brazilliant to be a little artificial smelling. I’m not sure why this is. To me it smelled similar to a chemical-filled orange flavoured squash or something. Not terrible smelling, but not as good as it potentially could have been!

I didn’t notice any improvements to the condition of my hair while using Brazilliant.

Pros:

Now, I bought this shampoo bar for me and my partner to take with us for when we travelled to Mallorca! So, whenever I smell Brazilliant, the scent instantly makes me think of Summer and our time in Mallorca, which certainly isn’t a bad thing!

I think the overall scent of Brazilliant is quite fresh, uplifting and Summery. I’d definitely recommend trying our Brazilliant during the warmer half of the year!

This shampoo bar always left my hair feeling super clean, soft and not overly dried-out – even when not using a hair moisturiser of any kind afterwards. It didn’t leave my hair actually feeling moisturised, it just left it feeling fairly nice 🙂

Although Brazilliant does begin to break into pieces once it becomes really thin, it held together far better than I expected it to. I think for some reason I was under the impression that Brazilliant was a soft shampoo bar when I first purchased it, and that it would break into pieces really quickly. In actuality, it held together far better than most of the other shampoo bars I have tried from Lush!

Okay, this is a big pro that I only just remembered about this shampoo bar. IT LEAVES A SCENT IN YOUR HAIR! I’m not even kidding, this is the FIRST shampoo bar from Lush (I believe) that I have used that has actually left a scent in my hair after usage. The scent is really faint, but it is definitely there! It’s also a nice neutral scent – not many people are off-put by the scent of oranges, right?

The colour of Brazilliant is absolutely phenomenal. It is the brightest, happiest, opaquest orange you’ve ever seen! I absolutely love it, and again, it is super appropriate to have in the bathroom during the Summertime for this reason!

Brazilliant lathers up really beautifully, and lasts a very long time (around 3 months for me and my partner!)

Even the name of Brazilliant is really summery! This is like the ultimate happy Summer shampoo IMO 😉

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really enjoyed this shampoo bar – especially the concept of it 🙂 It wasn’t absolutely amazing though – Brazilliant didn’t help the condition of my hair out at all really, and I still got loads of split ends while using it! I definitely recommend using it during the Summer though, alongside a good moisturising product to keep your hair hydrated 🙂

Overall, I’m going to rate Brazilliant a 4/5* rating. It worked really well as a shampoo, despite its novel format, and is a really lovely product!

Lush Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume

Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume (100g)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

The scent of this conditioner is STRONG. EXTREMELY strong! If you don’t like the scent of flowers then seriously, give this one a miss, because it has an extremely strong floral scent to it.

This conditioner doesn’t go a long way. You need a decent amount of product to truly condition your hair. Not absolutely tons, but definitely not a small amount. This product wont last you very long!

I found this conditioner to make my roots a little greasy. I don’t actually apply conditioner to my roots, but after conditioning my ends, I do sort of spread the product throughout all of my hair. I also comb the conditioner through the entire length of my hair before rinsing it out. Once I used this product in the evening, and the next morning, I have to wash my fringe again before going to college. As I said, I didn’t even apply the conditioner directly to my fringe or roots – only to my ends! If you have a fringe or your hair gets oily quite fast at the roots, I might stay away from this one!

This is an extremely expensive product – the most expensive conditioner that Lush do. I’d advise you try a sample of this conditioner before purchasing it, as a little 100g bottle of it costs £9.95!

Pros:

I personally like the smell of this conditioner a lot. It smells really fresh and makes me feel happy. It reminds me of the outdoors, of nature and of the Summertime 🙂 If you like very natural, floral, outdoorsy scents, you’ll really like the smell of Happy Happy Joy Joy!

After rinsing the product out of the hair, a scent lingers – but not the exact same scent as the product smells in its container. The musky floral scent of the product is hardly present, and instead the scent is much more zesty and citrusy. I think it smells lovely in the hair!

This product did condition my hair very well (almost too well!) My hair felt almost perfectly conditioned after using Happy Happy Joy Joy in face, and I only needed the smallest amount of R&B Hair moisturiser to reach that perfect level. If you are in some SERIOUS need of hydration for your hair, try this conditioner! This finding seems odd to me, considering that most reviews that that this conditioner is extremely light. Perhaps it is because of my hair being extremely straight, very fine and very thin and all natural! Perhaps if you have hair similar to me, you will also find this conditioner to be extremely conditioning!

This conditioner is very natural and it really feels like you are genuinely feeding your hair when you use it. My hair certainly feels healthier after having used this conditioner!

The name… Okay, so it’s just a name, right? But Happy Happy Joy Joy is just such a happy, cute, uplifting name, how could you not love it?!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this is an absolutely lovely conditioner from Lush. It just smells so happy, outdoorsy and natural! It also actually works extremely well at conditioning the hair (at least for my hair!) I found this conditioner to actually be TOO conditioning for my fringe area, but only just not conditioning enough for my ends. Considering that I didn’t even actually apply the conditioner to my fringe area, I’m not quite sure how I would be able to find balance with this product! The scent is very strong before rinsing it out – possibly even almost TOO strong. But I do really like it!

Overall, I’m going to have to give this lovely conditioner a 4/5* rating. If it would just leave my fringe and root area a little less oily, I’d probably give it a higher rating!

I hope you enjoyed my review!

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask Review

Hello again! Here’s another Lush review for another product that my partner bought for me, how lovely is he? 😀 I hope you enjoy!

Cupcake Fresh Face Mask:

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

My face didn’t feel THAT different after using this mask. I mean, it did feel different, just not as different as I would expect from a mask really. If you get this mask then use it more as a fun product for a pamper evening or something, rather than a miracle product that will do wonders for your skin!

Spreading a chocolate spread scented, coloured and textured product onto my face felt a little bit… wrong. It felt like I was putting a product on my face that just wasn’t going to do it any good. With all the cocoa butter and vanilla in there, how different from chocolate spread even is this product haha! Okay, I’m only being half serious 😉 But seriously, I know SO MANY of Lush products have cocoa butter in them and usually I’m kinda alright with it, but this time…? I don’t know, the product just didn’t feel like something that was good for my skin!

After a while of using the product, it will become slightly thicker. When Cupcake gets like this, pieces of the mask will begin to crumble off of your face while waiting to wash it off. This was pretty annoying!

This face mask becomes INCREDIBLY difficult to spread around the face after a while – but I did find a solution to this. When my face mask got like this, I begun wetting my face before applying the mask. That way it would spread and apply MUCH easier, and the effects were just about the same to be honest!

This mask is going to last you absolutely yonks. For some people, that’s a great thing! For others, not so much. It could become quite tedious using the same mask for weeks on end. I personally used this mask probably once every other week or so on average… Some of those times with my partner using it too… And this mask has legit lasted me since the 15th August 2016, and honestly, I only just used the last bit of it yesterday, the 4th February 2017. I know that A LOT of you are going to think that it is absolutely disgusting and terrible for my skin etc etc that I used this product for so long, but I’m sure some of you will see it like I do. I only stop using a product once it changes noticeably. The only change I saw with this mask was that it became thicker – but that is something that gradually happens with masks after each use. I just kept it in the fridge and it was fine! Either way, it lasting this long was pretty damn tedious. I’m guessing I’ve personally used this mask around 10 times, and that my partner has used it around 3 times, so 10-15 uses in total! That’s nuts for such a small pot of product!

This face mask doesn’t have much grittiness to it and isn’t exfoliating whatsoever. The only hard bits this mask has in it are really chunky and hard pieces of… something… but they are so few and far between that all they do is dig into your skin a bit!

Pros:

The scent and whole concept of this face mask is soooooooooooooooo good. Like I said before, I’m not 100% sure I really WANT to be applying chocolate spread to my face but damn, it does smell, look, and feel just like a mix between cake batter and delicious chocolate spread… It is the PERFECT product for chocoholics. If you’re a bit of a chocoholic yourself, you’ll looooooooooooooove this face mask!

There’s both spearmint and peppermint oil in this mask, which gives a really nice cooling feeling while the mask is on your face and for a short while after. It is really lovely, and definitely makes the mask overall feel a lot less heavy. The mask doesn’t really smell minty to me at all, so it just leaves that nice cooling effect. Definitely makes your face feel super fresh after use!

My skin did feel nicer after using this. Even if only slightly, it is still an improvement on my skin before using the mask. Your skin will feel smoother, SLIGHTLY more moisturised, cleaner, clearer, brighter, fresher, more colourful… The effects are quite nice, just don’t expect to feel like you have entirely different skin on your face after using it! If you don’t mind the effects of your mask being very subtle then give this one a go 🙂

This mask is really easy to wash off compared to others!

This was a gift and I was very happy to receive it! I think this mask would make an incredible gift for chocolate lovers!

I know I listed this as a con, but this product lasting for ages might be a pro for some people. You definitely get your moneys worth, that’s for sure! I guess if this turns out to be your holy grail product or something, then this product lasting so long is a brilliant feature for you!

This is a Lush product, which is an amazing company – plus it is vegan! I’d try any vegan product from Lush at least once, so if you are having difficulties deciding whether to try this mask or not, I’d say you should give it a go!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this mask was okay. It is more of a luxury product, in the sense that it doesn’t really do much for the skin, but the chocolatey concept is really, really good. I’m personally not the MOST massive chocolate fan, so the main benefits I got from this product were its effects, which weren’t incredible.

Overall, I’m going to rate this face mask a 4/5* because it is a really nice mask, but it definitely isn’t brilliant. I actually had extremely high expectations for this mask because according to its description, it should have been absolutely perfect for my skin. It was really nice all the same!

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb Bath Bomb Review

Okay, so it might be confusing that I have “Bath Bomb Bath Bomb” in the title for this review, but that’s because the bath bomb’s full name is actually “Blackberry Bath Bomb”, and the product itself IS a Bath Bomb. In my reviews I always write out the product’s full name as well as the type of product that it is, so… Just bear with the weird title of this one!

My partner bought me the lovely Happy Bathday gift set from Lush for my birthday back in October. I only just used this bath bomb from that gift set, here is my review for it!

Blackberry Bath Bomb Bath Bomb:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This bath bomb is pretty much a case of what you see is what you get. It is purple, and turns the bath water a shade of purple. It smells exactly how it smells once in the bath. There isn’t that much more to this bath bomb so if you expecting something really interesting to happen with this one then well, don’t. What you see is what you get!

The bath water wasn’t all thaaaaaaaaaaat moisturising. It was moisturising, but just not THAT much so.

The bath water left behind from this bath bomb isn’t very… opaque at all. There isn’t much bath art left on the water after the bomb has finished fizzing and the water is left almost transparent. Imagine using a purple filter on normal bath water, that’s what it is like. Literally just purple bath water!

Once my bath bomb had basically finished fizzing, there was this one glob of magenta dye still sort of… dispersing throughout the water. I’m a perfectionist so I absolutely MUST wait until the bath bomb has stopped moving entirely and has completely finished doing its thing, so this one little glob of dye taking like… 5 extra minutes to finish dispersing through the water… was a bit irritating!

Pros:

The smell is absolutely gorgeous. It has a rich, fruity, refreshing blackberry scent, but it also has a slight spiciness to it. It is just absolutely gorgeous. I love it SO much!!! It is also a sweet scent and wow, I just love it.

The colour of the bath bomb and the colour that it leaves the bathwater is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colour purple, so this one is right down my alley as they say. SO PRETTY!!!

The scent from this bath bomb lingered in my hair for a little while which was really, really nice!

The bath water was somewhat moisturising. Not massively so, but it was still nice!

This made a lovely gift and I am so happy I received this from my partner for my Birthday 🙂 This would make a lovely gift for pretty much anyone I should think!

This is obviously a Lush product, it is vegan, cruelty free, handmade etc etc… A fantastic product that is definitely worth a try at LEAST once!

I actually really liked the bath water being sort of see-through. I get kinda creeped out when the water is quite opaque, because it allows my imagination to go nuts and think that there might be a shark in the water… or that the water could be far deeper than I think it is etc… This probably sounds really weird to most of you, but I am really, really scared of sharks and of deep water! If you are too then a bath bomb like this is really nice!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this is such a nice bath bomb, and I just can’t get over its scent!!! I absolutely adore the colour it turns my bath water too… I think I love just about everything about this bath bomb. It COULD be improved, but not much honestly. I’d personally prefer it if this bomb had a liiiiiittle more oomph to it, but it is really lovely!

I’m going to have to rate this bath bomb a solid 5/5*!!! It could be improved, but almost no product can’t be, right? The colour and THE SCENT!!! I just LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH!

Until next time!

Lush The Experimenter Bath Bomb Review

I was lucky enough to have obtained this bath bomb as part of a gift set that I was given by my partner for my birthday! That was back in October, and I have only just found the chance to use it. Here is my review for The Experimenter!

The Experimenter Bath Bomb:

Rating:

Cons: 3/5*

The bath water ends up a sort of murky grey colour. If you was after bright bath water, steer away from The Experimenter!

This has a sort of slightly sweet, spicy, smoky and earthy scent, and definitely is more of the last 3. If you don’t like quite incensey or musky scents of any kind, steer away! The scent actually reminded me a lot of the scent of the Pumpkin bath bomb from the halloween range last year.

For me, The Experimenter performed quite peculiarly in my bath. It sank to the bottom straight away, and once it had finished fizzing and I got into the bath, there was a little pile of bath bomb dust at the bottom of the bath where it had sank. It also didn’t really make much of a display on the surface of the bath. If you are expecting a magnificent show from this bath bomb, you could very well be disappointed!

I don’t know if this has anything to do with the ingredients of this bath bomb or not, but I found it very difficult to get the bath water to be the right temperature. I had to keep adding more hot water, then more cold water etc. The reason I think it might have something to do with the ingredients of the bath bomb is because firstly, I don’t usually have this problem and secondly, I know when I’ve used Intergalactic in the past I had to add more hot water because of the cooling effects of the peppermint oil, so something similar could be happening with this bath bomb. It was quite annoying!

After draining the bath water, there will be loads of bath bomb powder, glitter, colourants and other residue left behind in the bath tub. This isn’t a huge problem but it is nice when the bath drains pretty much spotless after taking a bath!

Pros:

This bath bomb provides a very sparkly bath! It looks really lovely 🙂

Before putting the bath bomb in the bath and straight after doing so, wow. Just wow! This is such a colourful bath bomb and when it first hits the water, it makes such a beautiful circular rainbow, like a colour wheel!

I quite liked the sweet, spicy scent of this bath bomb – definitely my kinda thing!

This bath bomb is huge, so the bath water ends up feeling very rich in moisturising oils and lovely ingredients.

The scent will linger in hair for around a day, which is lovely!

This was part of a gift for my birthday and it was very lovely to receive! This bath bomb definitely makes for a brilliant and exciting gift 🙂

The name is pretty epic. It made me feel like a mad scientist or something when I used the bath bomb.

Overall Conclusion:

I liked this bath bomb a lot. It wasn’t one of my favourites, but it definitely was far from my least favourites too.

I’m going to rate this bath bomb a 3/5* rating. I know that seems sort of low, but the end colour of the bath water reminded me a bit of the colour of dirty laundry water or something… I don’t know. Either way, it was enough for me to just rate this product 3/5*.

Lush Over And Over Bath Bomb Review

Over And Over Bath Bomb:

Rating: 4/5

Cons:

This bath bomb leaves a heavy residue on the surface of the bath water, which clings to skin somewhat and 100% clings to the sides of the bath. I had to use a household cleaner to cut through the oils and wash off this residue! If that sounds like a hassle to you, I’d advise against trying this bath bomb!

This is a very limited item. I got it from Lush Oxford Street and it had just been made in the kitchen at the time. If you happen to get your hands on this bath bomb and absolutely love it, be warned – there’s a fair chance you won’t get to try it again!

The finished result of this bath bomb was underwhelming. Because of how exclusive it is, I had hoped it would provide a more exciting display or a more nourishing bath or something special! It was very simple. Some people might like that, others may not so much.

This bath bomb is super citrussy. Now, I like citrus scents, but I know some of you won’t. Steer away if you are one of those people!

My bath bomb developed a crack in it after not having it for too long, so they are very delicate. I had never even dropped it!

This bath bomb is a super, super, super slow fizzer. I personally prefer fast fizzers because I like to watch the entire display from the bath bomb before getting in myself, and I’m quite an impatient person! I know some people do prefer the slow fizzers, but for those that don’t, you’ve been warned!

The scent changes once it is in the bath. Initially, it smelled strongly of lemons to me, but once in the bath it smells more like orange flavoured lollipops – a super sweet orangey scent.

Again, you’d expect this bath bomb to be super moisturising but somehow it just isn’t really! I mean it is, but not as much as say Butterbear.

The scent that this bath bomb produces doesn’t cling at all, so don’t expect it to!

Pros:

The bath bomb being dipped in cocoa butter or whatever butter it is does make it interesting. The novelty of it is definitely fun and exciting. It’s nice to try something very new and different! Worth a try at least once I reckon.

The colours are so vibrant and pigmented. This bath bomb creates a display of bright orange, pink and yellow in the bath. It leaves your bath looking a bit like a sunset! Very pretty and warming colours.

I personally think this bath bomb smells absolutely gorgeous. After I had bought it, I left it in its paper bag on our coffee table for a couple of weeks before using it. Those entire 2 weeks, my room smelt absolutely amazingly of zesty lemon! It is by far the strongest scented Lush product I have purchased so far (in terms of how it smells before use.) After putting it in the bath, the scent develops into a very sweet orange smell, which is also lovely.

If you can get your hands on one of these, the fact that it is so exclusive makes it quite fun and exciting to use. It really does make your bath feel that much special!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this was a fun bath bomb to use, and I am very glad I gave it a good go. I think the colours and scent were absolutely wonderful but honestly, other than that…? It just didn’t really DO that much for me. It wasn’t very moisturising when I really was expecting it to be, considering it is dipped in I think cocoa butter?

It also fizzed away incredibly slowly. Like, the display lasted anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes to finish… Definitely a big no-no for me! It was a very pretty display but honestly, after a good few minutes, I just want to get in the damn bath (unless the display is incredibly beautiful – I could watch Intergalactic fizzing for a loooooooong time!)

I’m going to rate this bath bomb a… and I hate to say it for the billionth time… but it has to be another 4/5*! I know, I know, how predictable of me. I don’t know why but every Lush product has just been a 4/5* for me recently!

I intend to use a bath bomb tonight – really need a good bath to help me relax a little… Let’s hope that one is a 5/5!
