Lush New Shampoo Bar Review

New Shampoo Bar:

new_shampoo_bar_be_cruelty_free_solid_shot_1 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar doesn’t leave your hair feeling COMPLETELY cleansed. What I mean by this is that although it does leave your hair clean, it also seems to add something back into your hair. I don’t know if it’s the glycerine or the oils within this shampoo bar, but I know some people just want their hair to feel super squeaky clean when they are done with shampooing!

The scent isn’t sweet, fruity or foodsy. The scent of New is quite green, minty and spicy. It has a very fresh scent, with hints of earthy and woodsy scents thrown in there. I know some people aren’t drawn to these sorts of scents!

I found that the New shampoo bar did stick quite a bit to the surface that I would lay it on once I was done using it in the shower (I rested it on top of a shower jelly lid.) This would leave behind quite a bit of sticky shampoo bar residue, and was quite annoying!

Pros:

I personally think the way that New shampoo bar leaves your hair feeling is REALLY nice! It leaves your hair feeling slightly conditioned, which is something I personally appreciate 🙂 I found that the shampoo bar being fairly moisturising also meant that my hair would be more smooth, tame and manageable after washing my hair!

This is a really refreshing shampoo bar. The mint and spices in New make your scalp feel super fresh, and the scents that this bar gives off are just what anyone needs to help them wake up and feel energized!

New has a little wooden stick embedded in the top of the bar, that says #BeCrueltyFree on it. I think this is a really cute addition to the shampoo bar, and is something that you can keep afterwards if you’re insanely sentimental like I am…

Most importantly, New shampoo bar does its job! This shampoo bar always cleaned my hair as much as any other shampoo would do which, ultimately, is what is the purpose of a shampoo is in the first place.

The scent is very unisex in my opinion. Many of Lush’s products carry scents that can be very obviously geared toward females, by being stereotypically sweet, foodsy and fruity scented. That isn’t the case with New shampoo bar, which I think is fantastic!

New shampoo bar lathers up absolutely amazingly.

Shampoo bars always last a pretty good amount of time before they are completely used up, and this one is no different. It lasted me and my partner absolutely ages!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think New shampoo bar is definitely a very good option if you’re looking to try a new shampoo. It isn’t an absolutely perfect product, but I do think it is pretty amazing, especially for a shampoo! It just always left my hair feeling so amazing and more conditioned than most shampoos leave my hair, and made my hair overall feel really healthy.

Overall, I rate New shampoo bar a 5/5* rating. Again, it wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was good enough to warrant this rating!

I’d highly recommend giving this product a try if you haven’t done so already 🙂

Lush Rehab Shampoo Review

Rehab Shampoo (100g):

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

I find Lush liquid shampoos to make my hair a little bit tangled. It isn’t a huge issue, but it is definitely something I did notice occur with this particular shampoo.

The scent is very strong! To me it smells like sweet fruit, lavender, mint and tea tree. Mostly mint and tea tree to me, although it actually does not contain any tea tree whatsoever! If you don’t like those sorts of scents, I’d try a different Lush shampoo.

It was very difficult to know how much of this product I would need to use at a time. This shampoo is somehow super inconsistent! Sometimes I’d only need the tiniest amount to lather up my entire head of hair, and other times I’d have to add additional shampoo to my hair 3 or 4 times before being satisfied with the lather.

I don’t fully like the name of this product. Rehab is a word with many negative associations – things I don’t particularly want to pop into my mind whenever I go to wash my hair! I haven’t even be to rehab, but I’m sure this name would be even more disturbing for anyone that has!

Rehab is a very simple shampoo – some people only love Lush for the colourful, creative, innovative, unusual looking products! If you just find simple products to be boring, I’d try a shampoo bar instead!

Pros:

I personally love the scent of this shampoo. It was so unexpected, because most of the ingredients are fruit juices. It really does smell like mint, tea tree and a hint of lavender. It is just the most clarifying, clean smell and I absolutely love it! It also has a sweetness to it, that reminds me of the scent of hard boiled minty sweets.

I think the scent of this product does wonders for your mind too. The clarity of the scent just makes you feel refreshed, de-stressed, clear and ready to start the day with a fresh mind. If you are a person that experiences negative moods / negative ways of thinking frequently, I’d highly recommend you try this shampoo!

Again, for a friend who experiences negative moods often, this would make a really thoughful gift to them! The name might be a tad offensive, but if you just explain to them that the purpose you thought they would like the product is how clarifying and uplifting the scent is, I’m sure they’d be very appreciative!

Okay, so the name is a little odd. BUT, it does make my mind instantly start playing Amy Winehouse’s ‘Rehab’ in my mind – which isn’t such a bad thing!

The consistency of this shampoo is really lovely, as is the colour of it! It is just a super pale, transparent cream colour. Really simple and nice 🙂

I found this shampoo to be quite softening on my hair, and found that it generally lathered up quite well.

This shampoo cleans hair very well.

I found Rehab to have a slightly thickening effect on my hair!

My hair has seemed stronger recently than it usually does. I have extremely fine blonde hair, and usually it feels quite weak. I definitely think Rehab has helped with the strength of my hair!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think this was a really nice shampoo. It was pretty basic, but felt somewhat like a staple product – everyone could do with a bottle of Rehab in their shower!

Honestly, I didn’t notice any massive change when using this shampoo. My hair does seem thicker and healthier than it used to, but I still lose a lot of hair whilst in the shower, my hair still gets greasy quickly etc. I think that I do overall like this shampoo – it just isn’t absolutely perfect I suppose!

Overall, I’m going to rate Rehab a 4 or a 5 star rating. It is difficult to pick between the two… I’m rating Rehab a 5/5* rating. I was going to give it a 4* rating but honestly, my hair has just been in much better shape recently, which will at least be partially due to Rehab. I’ve hardly been noticing any split ends in my hair and my hair has been both thicker and stronger.

Lush Ultrablast Tooth Powder Review

I bought this from the Oxford Street Lush on March 18th, and just used it all up today! Time for Ultrablast’s review!

Ultrablast Tooth Powder:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

If you don’t like the idea of having a savoury tasting toothpaste, this tooth powder isn’t for you! It definitely does not taste sweet whatsoever.

This tooth paste is literally a powder – which could seem a little strange to some people! It this doesn’t sound like your sort of thing, try a different tooth product instead!

The powder did begin to clump and get sort of watery at the same time toward the end of the pot. That was a little annoying, but only slightly 🙂

Pros:

I found this tooth powder lasted a very decent amount of time! It lasted me and my partner around 7 weeks to use up – not bad in my opinion! I think this was because the powder really didn’t clump up until right near the end of the product, so we would only pick up a small amount on our toothbrushes for each use.

Even though your toothbrush won’t pick up that much product, the amount that it will pick up will somehow ALWAYS be the right amount! I found with toothy tabs that sometimes I would need to use a couple to feel like my teeth were REALLY clean, but with this tooth powder, just one dab is always the right amount!

I found this product fun and novel to use, but still super simple! All I would do is to wet my toothbrush thoroughly and shake off any excess water suuuper thoroughly (until no droplets of water ping off the brush!) I would then open the tooth powder pot, and dab my brush into the powder – deep enough so that all the sides of my brush were slightly submerged into the powder. I would then pull my brush out and tap it on the sides of the pot, until no excess powder dropped off. Then I just brushed away! Super easy, and lasts absolutely ages this way!

I was able to use up all the product fairly easily, despite the last bit being a little wet and clumpy.

The scent is lovely and minty 🙂

The taste to me was like a slightly savory, slightly salty mint flavour. That probably sounds really gross and weird, but I actually really enjoyed it! It kept my breath smelling incredibly fresh, and tasted really good to be honest! I think it is definitely at least worth a go 🙂

This tooth powder doesn’t contain any fluoride – which some argue is bad for your teeth and health in general. If you want to avoid fluoride then this tooth powder is an excellent alternative.

You would think that this product being a powder would make it super messy and easy to spill, but I really haven’t had either of those issues so far (and this is my second tooth powder that I’ve used up.) In fact, I’ve dropped more product in the form of toothy tabs than I have in the form of tooth powder!

This being a powder makes it super travel-friendly 🙂

I found that using this tooth powder meant that I used up less water whilst brushing my teeth – as it is far easier to rinse out after I’m done brushing, and as I don’t need to add any water to my brush after adding the product. Less water wastage guys!

This powder comes in one of Lush’s recyclable pots. When you return 5 of these pots, you get a fresh face mask from Lush for free!

Ultrablast is vegan.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I’m sure you can tell that I really quite enjoyed this tooth powder! I thought it tasted lovely, smelled lovely, was super easy to use, lasted forever and I loved the packaging for it.

I’m going to rate this product a 5/5* rating. It was an absolutely brilliant product and both me and my partner really enjoyed using it!

Lush Dirty Springwash Shower Gel Review

Dirty Springwash Shower Gel (100g)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shower gel doesn’t lather up as well as some others. That isn’t to say it is bad at lathering up, just that it could be a whole lot better. I’d find myself adding more product to my loofah at least once during my showers. The lather that it does produce just seems to disappear really quickly.

This shower gel has a very familiar concept, that some people might find a bit boring to be frank! It is a minty smelling product – I could name so many minty smelling/tasting products that I know!

I’m not keen on the name of this product in all honestly. I’m not a fan of the word dirty!

The scent is quite strong and could be almost too overbearing for some people.

This is a minty shower gel, as it contains spearmint oil, menthol crystals and thyme oil. This means that some people may find that this shower gel produces a cooling effect on the skin, which I definitely know some people dislike! If you don’t like feeling super fresh to the point of feeling a little bit cold, this one isn’t for you!

Pros:

I think this shower gel smells great! It reminds me of the scent of spearmint Polos. I really like the smell of mint a lot, and the combination of spearmint oil, menthol crystals, thyme oil, limonene and fine sea salt just make this shower gel smell that much more amazing!

The scent lingers on the skin. I could smell this shower gel on myself throughout the day, which was absolutely lovely.

This shower gel has a really pretty colour – a nice turquoise-aquamarine-blue. It is beautiful!

Using this shower gel did make me feel very fresh afterwards! 🙂

This is a vegan product, so all you vegans can use this one!

It does the job and cleans your skin very well 🙂

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this shower gel is really nice, but nothing incredibly special. It is a fairly common sort of scent, it didn’t lather up that well and well, I don’t know. It just didn’t really grab my attention all that much!

I did think the colour of this product was rather pretty, and I do like the scent. It cleaned my skin very well and made me feel rather fresh. The scent lingering on my skin is deifnitely the biggest pro for me!

Overall, I’m going to rate this shower gel a 4/5* rating. It was very nice, but nothing exceptionally special.

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub Review.

Hiya! 🙂

Today is a review of Lush’s ‘Mint Julips Lip Scrub’.

I hope you enjoy!

Mint Julips Lip Scrub:

Rating: 4/5

Cons:

This lip scrub tastes a bit too good – I found myself nibbling on it every now and then! This means that obviously the product runs out a lot quicker and that you kinda get less bang for your buck than you might at first think you will. Basically, for what the product is, I actually find these lip scrubs to be incredibly expensive – whether they are filled to the brim or not!

This scrub gets just about everywhere when you decide to use it. It will end up all around your lips, possibly your chin, your lap if you are sitting down at the time and whatever surface you are sitting on. This is a messy product!

The product does not taste the same way that it smells. It smells like some sort of minty milk chocolate to me, but tastes like mint flavoured sweets. This can be a bit disappointing!

The product smelling so good does mean that it is very tempting to try some of the product – perhaps the product shouldn’t smell quite so good!

After scrubbing your lips with this product, it is recommended that you actually lick the product off. This is somewhat… Well, it means that you’re basically mindfully eating your own dead, scrubbed off lip skin. This is a bit gross!

I always rinse my mouth area after using the lip scrub, because even if I try to lick the product off, there will still be sugar granules sprinkled around my mouth. This can be a bit time consuming and inconvenient at times.

Pros:

This scrub will leave your lips feeling incredibly smooth, plump, renewed and a nice rosey colour. My lips always looked their best just after I had used this scrub! If you like a more natural beauty sort of look, this scrub is especially good, because you can have all of these effects to your lips without having any product actually on them!

I found it very satisfying using this lip scrub. It’s so nice looking in the mirror after scrubbing your lips to find how perfect they look!

This lip scrub smells just like ‘Aero’ – a milk chocolate filled with sweet, creamy, minty “bubbles”. It smells absolutely amazing!

This product comes in a little tiny jar, so it is very easy to put in your handbag and carry around with you wherever you go.

This product is generally very easy and quite fast to use!

This is a Lush product, so it is pretty epic!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I absolutely love Lush’s lip scrubs. I prefer this lip scrub to their ‘Popcorn Lip Scrub’, because although I love the smell and taste of the popcorn flavoured lip scrub more, I find that ‘Mint Julips Lip Scrub’ lasts a little bit longer, and I also find I prefer the effects slightly more when using ‘Mint Julips Lip Scrub’.

‘Mint Julips Lip Scrub’ will leave your lips super plump, super rosey, feeling super renewed and extremely smooth. Yes, it might be quite messy and yes, it is also quite expensive for what it is, for the amount of product you get and for how long it lasts. My pot was made on 05/05/16, and I probably used it all up sometime this week. That means it lasts me around 10 or 11 weeks, so 2 1/2 – 3 months. That sounds like a decent amount of time for it to last, but considering it is really just sugar and oils, I’d expect it to last longer for how much I paid for it. I suppose you are essentially paying for someone else to make the product for you, saving you time – but that would still mean that I’d expect a little bit more than the small pot that this scrub comes in, as if I were to make the product myself, I’d definitely make far more product than what they provide.

Overall, I do really like this scrub. I do have some issues with it, but they are nothing massive. I rate this product a 4/5* – I really want to rate it higher, but how messy it is does put me off giving it a 5* rating. Either way, this is a fantastic product, and I look forward to trying more lip scrubs from Lush in the future!

I hope you enjoyed this review everyone!
