After Day 6 Of Working On Me.

Hey guys!

Yesterday I managed to achieve 10 things toward developing myself into a healthy version of me!

1.) I took my weight! This has literally just become routing by this point 🙂

2.) Made myself a proper, good breakfast consisting of cereal, a coffee and a bottle of water.

3.) I drank a bottle of water! Again, standard routine by this point!

4.) I put a load of laundry on in the washing machine.

5.) I hung up lots of wet laundry to dry.

6.) THIS is the exciting one of the day guys. I always seem to have one thing that I’m pretty chuffed about and excited about. So basically, I had been watching the Kon Mari method on Netflix and so I decided to try it myself. I washed all of me and my partner’s clothes and piled them all into separate piles on the bed, and proceeded to alternate picking one item to go into the keep pile, one to go into the discard pile (depending on whether the item truly sparked joy or not). Our aim was a 50% reduction in our clothes, so this method worked really nicely! At the end, we allowed our imperfect selves to grab anything we REALLY wanted from the discard pile, so I think we probably got rid of around 40% of our clothes at the end. After doing this, me and my fiancé ended up putting away SOME of my clothes using the Kon Mari way (so that we could fit as many clothes into our storage areas as possible etc), but I basically ended up with a massive pile of clothes on top of my dressing table ever since that Kon Mari session that never ended up being put away. Finally, yesterday me and my partner put ALL MY CLOTHES AWAY IN THE KON MARI FASHION! I mean, I’m so happy I could legit cry about this achievement. I sat there for probably 4 hours straight folding and putting away my clothes. The photo is just a sample which is the drawer with all my tops inside and a few jumpers.

7.) I drank another bottle of water.

8.) I uploaded another picture onto Instagram. This time it was just a screen shot of my phone’s background, because I think one’s phone background really showcases a lot about an individual! It also allowed me to give a moment to express my appreciation about my fiancé buying me the phone 🙂

9.) I drank another bottle of water.

10.) I drank my final bottle of water (adding up to 2.4 litres in total for the day).

Thank you so much for reading!

Today I hope that I will do some studying, henna my ends, take a bath, upload another picture on Instagram, clean my mirrors and windows and any hard surfaces and that’s about it.

For Instagram, I think I might start aiming to upload photos of myself actually DOING things, rather than just selfies or photos that don’t have me in them at all… I think photos of people actually doing things kinda shows a little window into that person’s life and are really personally expressive!

I will update you all tomorrow to show you what I got up to doing today 🙂

How To Keep On Top Of Your Laundry!

Hey guys! 😀

It’s been quite a while since I last wrote a blog post – sorry! I recently finished up at University for the year, and have since been catching up with a whole ton of chores that I let get on top of me during the academic year.

I live away from home in a cute little flat with my partner, and doing the laundry for the household is my chore. Studying for an Astrophysics degree is, well, basically rocket science right? So it’s pretty damn difficult, and has taken up almost my entire attention since the end of September / beginning of October last year. This meant that I fell behind TERRIBLY on the laundry front (and honestly, basically every front in my life, I just decided to tackle the laundry first!)

Finally, a billion full loads in the washing machine later, and I have actually managed to get all of the laundry done… As in, to fill up the washing machine right now I’d have to wash the bed sheets on my bed or something, which really don’t need to be washed right now as we changed them quite recently!

Now, you guys, you have no idea how bad the pile of dirty laundry got. It got pretty bad. So, I’ve come up with a strategy that will make doing the laundry easy, and prevent it from getting this bad ever again!:

  1. img_01681Don’t put dirty laundry onto the floor, into a laundry bag or basket or anywhere else. Do put dirty laundry STRAIGHT into the washing machine, and let it act as your laundry basket.
  2. Don’t wait to add fabric softener and laundry detergent into the washing machine for when you actually need to turn the washing machine on (if your household contains 2+ people.) Do put in the fabric softener and laundry detergent as soon as one load is finished (using a generic fabric softener and detergent suitable to wash most clothing items,) so that when you do need to turn the washing machine on, the job will be done that much faster.

  3. img_01751Don’t be super picky with the temperature, speed and setting that you wash clothes on apart from for clothes where it ACTUALLY makes a difference. Do find a general speed, temperature and setting that works for the majority of your clothes and put your machine on those settings, so that you can get a load of laundry washed that bit faster when you next need to.
  4.

Don’t leave clean, wet laundry in the washing machine when you have noticed it has finished its cycle. Do take out the clean laundry and hang it out to dry straight away.

  5. img_01781img_01771Don’t leave laundry out to dry for days and days and days. Do check everyday to see what pieces of laundry are dry, and bring in, fold up and put away any items that are STRAIGHT AWAY!
  6. Don’t wait until more than one full load of laundry is dirty before using the washing machine. Do check to see how full the washing machine is whenever you add in new items and when it is full, take out any odd items that won’t be suitable being washed with the rest of the items, turn on the washing machine and start a cycle.

And there they are – my pro tips to keep your laundry under control!

I don’t think leaving fabric softener etc in the machine will be a problem because we somehow come up with dirty laundry in our home pretty quickly, and I can sometimes even find myself needing to do a full load of laundry every other day! Even if some of the tips don’t look appealing to you, maybe some could be adapted a little so that they help make your laundry easier to do too!

Lush Sakura Bath Bomb Review.

Hey guys! I hope you enjoy this review!

Sakura Bath Bomb Review:

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This bath bomb doesn’t make a show at all in your bath. If you are looking for something that will leave your bath looking colourful, or different in any significant way, this one isn’t really for you. It is very plain!

This bath bomb is not moisturising very much at all. In fact, this bath bomb didn’t really do much for my skin whatsoever.

Because the bath bomb doesn’t do much, after you’ve finished with your bath, the water will probably be a murkey greyish colour from all the suds that result bathing. This could be much more pleasant if the bath bomb had some colour to it!

Pros:

Guys… the smell of this bath bomb is flipping incredible… The smell lingers, mainly in hair. I rinsed my hair in the bath after washing it, and oh my… My hair today still smells like fresh clean laundry, floral and like mimosa. This is after having used the bath bomb a full day ago. IT SMELLS SO GOOD!!! If you want a bath bomb that is going to linger in your hair and make you smell divine for absolutely ages, this is the ONE! The smell is completely inoffensive and is the sort of smell that everyone and anyone would like, because it just smells clean and fresh really.

The smell the bath bomb produces in the bath is much more floral than how it initially smells and than how it smells when it lingers in your hair. It smells so good!

The concept is lovely – a simple, delicate, feminine, fresh and pretty bath bomb 🙂

Visually, the bath bomb looks lovely. It is white with blue and pink speckles, and has some large blue-green coloured salt on the top of it.

This is a vegan product from Lush!

I literally can’t stop smelling my hair guys…

This was a gift from my mother for my birthday, and it really is a lovely bath bomb. I’m so glad to have been able to try it.

Although you can’t feel much of an effect from the bath bomb, it is definitely somewhat moisturising because you can see the bath bomb’s ingredients floating on top of the bath water when it is done fizzing, and the water does definitely feel more silky and moisturising than usual bath water. My skin also felt slightly moisturised after I had finished my bath.

The bath water was a really pretty blue colour before I got in. I’m not sure if this was anything to do with the bath bomb, because the colour seemed to disappear once I was in the bath, so I think it was more of a trick of the eye. Either way, it was pretty!

Overall conclusion:

Overall, I loved this bath bomb. Sure, it wasn’t that exciting, and it really didn’t do all that much for my skin. The smell is to die for though, and the bath bomb itself was really pretty. The entire concept of this bath bomb is really nice.

I rate this bath bomb a 4/5*, although it is really close to a 5* rating! This bath bomb is absolutely ideal to use when you just want to smell incredibly fresh all day.
