Weight Diary 8!

Weight Diary Day 8:

Starting weight: 142.8 lbs

Current weight today in morning: 125.4 lbs

Goal weights: 129.8 lbs, 128.8 lbs, 127.8 lbs, 126.8 lbs, 125.8 lbs, 124.8 lbs, 123.8 lbs,
122.8 lbs, 122.4 lbs.

Why I weigh this much: Again, I’m very dehydrated and am not drinking enough water! The food I’m eating also isn’t the most nutritious, so my body probably isn’t holding onto as many nutrients as it should be. I definitely need to be keeping on top of both of these things if I want to remain healthy. I also need to really make sure I am sticking to my calories! I’m going to try my best to keep on top of everything today to keep myself healthy 🙂

Lush Rehab Shampoo Review

Rehab Shampoo (100g):

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

I find Lush liquid shampoos to make my hair a little bit tangled. It isn’t a huge issue, but it is definitely something I did notice occur with this particular shampoo.

The scent is very strong! To me it smells like sweet fruit, lavender, mint and tea tree. Mostly mint and tea tree to me, although it actually does not contain any tea tree whatsoever! If you don’t like those sorts of scents, I’d try a different Lush shampoo.

It was very difficult to know how much of this product I would need to use at a time. This shampoo is somehow super inconsistent! Sometimes I’d only need the tiniest amount to lather up my entire head of hair, and other times I’d have to add additional shampoo to my hair 3 or 4 times before being satisfied with the lather.

I don’t fully like the name of this product. Rehab is a word with many negative associations – things I don’t particularly want to pop into my mind whenever I go to wash my hair! I haven’t even be to rehab, but I’m sure this name would be even more disturbing for anyone that has!

Rehab is a very simple shampoo – some people only love Lush for the colourful, creative, innovative, unusual looking products! If you just find simple products to be boring, I’d try a shampoo bar instead!

Pros:

I personally love the scent of this shampoo. It was so unexpected, because most of the ingredients are fruit juices. It really does smell like mint, tea tree and a hint of lavender. It is just the most clarifying, clean smell and I absolutely love it! It also has a sweetness to it, that reminds me of the scent of hard boiled minty sweets.

I think the scent of this product does wonders for your mind too. The clarity of the scent just makes you feel refreshed, de-stressed, clear and ready to start the day with a fresh mind. If you are a person that experiences negative moods / negative ways of thinking frequently, I’d highly recommend you try this shampoo!

Again, for a friend who experiences negative moods often, this would make a really thoughful gift to them! The name might be a tad offensive, but if you just explain to them that the purpose you thought they would like the product is how clarifying and uplifting the scent is, I’m sure they’d be very appreciative!

Okay, so the name is a little odd. BUT, it does make my mind instantly start playing Amy Winehouse’s ‘Rehab’ in my mind – which isn’t such a bad thing!

The consistency of this shampoo is really lovely, as is the colour of it! It is just a super pale, transparent cream colour. Really simple and nice 🙂

I found this shampoo to be quite softening on my hair, and found that it generally lathered up quite well.

This shampoo cleans hair very well.

I found Rehab to have a slightly thickening effect on my hair!

My hair has seemed stronger recently than it usually does. I have extremely fine blonde hair, and usually it feels quite weak. I definitely think Rehab has helped with the strength of my hair!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think this was a really nice shampoo. It was pretty basic, but felt somewhat like a staple product – everyone could do with a bottle of Rehab in their shower!

Honestly, I didn’t notice any massive change when using this shampoo. My hair does seem thicker and healthier than it used to, but I still lose a lot of hair whilst in the shower, my hair still gets greasy quickly etc. I think that I do overall like this shampoo – it just isn’t absolutely perfect I suppose!

Overall, I’m going to rate Rehab a 4 or a 5 star rating. It is difficult to pick between the two… I’m rating Rehab a 5/5* rating. I was going to give it a 4* rating but honestly, my hair has just been in much better shape recently, which will at least be partially due to Rehab. I’ve hardly been noticing any split ends in my hair and my hair has been both thicker and stronger.

Lush From Dusk ‘Til Dawn Massage Bar Review

I bought this massage bar sometime last year – I think it was actually around this time last year to be honest! I only just managed to use it up – here is my review of it!

From Dusk ‘Til Dawn Massage Bar:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This massage bar does smell very strong and very much so of oranges. If you do not like zesty, fruity citrus scents, this massage bar isn’t for you!

The scent of this massage bar was slightly artificial smelling to me. It smelled to me like orange Tango or orange squash or something like that! If you are looking for a more “real” orange scent, don’t try this one!

This massage bar takes AGES to use up! This could be a good thing, or a bad thing. I have this in the cons list for this product because it took me a year to get through, and I got a little bit bored always using the same massage bar! If you like your Lush products to not last TOO long, this one isn’t for you!

I’m not 100% sure that I like the shape of this product… It looks a little… Strange… It is a beige-yellow cone, with a golden tip.

When melted, this bar could get quite greasy. I know it is made of oils, but I found it a little bit TOO oily for my liking.

Pros:

I think this massage bar smelled absolutely amazing! To me, it smelled almost identical to the Celebrate Body Lotion! A very bright and orangey scent. The scent was also strong, which meant that if I left the bar on my bedside table, my whole room would smell absolutely lovely! It makes a brilliant air freshener 😉

I found the scent to be very uplifting, and was a great product to use when I wanted a little nudge to get me up and being productive!

I think the scent of this massage bar works pretty much all year-round. It’s zesty scent works especially well in the Summer time!

I found this massage bar to also make a lovely lotion – especially for legs during the Summer! It gave my legs the most gorgeous sun-reflecting sheen, whilst keeping my skin nourished and smelling divine. Again, definitely one for the Summer!

This product lasts forever. I know I also made this a con, but you definitely get your money’s worth with this massage bar. You won’t need to buy a replacement for around a year!

My partner would massage me with this bar very often, and when melted on my back, it would feel very luxurious! It always left my skin feeling so soft and smooth 🙂

I found the shape of the bar to be good for massages too, as the more pointy end could be used to really put pressure onto any achy knots. If you have a partner that is willing to give you massages, and you have really achy areas in your back, give this bar a go!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this was a lovely massage bar. I have hardly any issues with it at all! I think it smelled divine, and was absolutely perfect in the Summer! It made back massages feel even better too!

I’m going to rate this massage bar a 5/5* rating! It really was a lovely product – it was excellent value for money, made massages feel absolutely amazing and it was lovely during the Summer on my legs!

Lush Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume

Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume (100g)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

The scent of this conditioner is STRONG. EXTREMELY strong! If you don’t like the scent of flowers then seriously, give this one a miss, because it has an extremely strong floral scent to it.

This conditioner doesn’t go a long way. You need a decent amount of product to truly condition your hair. Not absolutely tons, but definitely not a small amount. This product wont last you very long!

I found this conditioner to make my roots a little greasy. I don’t actually apply conditioner to my roots, but after conditioning my ends, I do sort of spread the product throughout all of my hair. I also comb the conditioner through the entire length of my hair before rinsing it out. Once I used this product in the evening, and the next morning, I have to wash my fringe again before going to college. As I said, I didn’t even apply the conditioner directly to my fringe or roots – only to my ends! If you have a fringe or your hair gets oily quite fast at the roots, I might stay away from this one!

This is an extremely expensive product – the most expensive conditioner that Lush do. I’d advise you try a sample of this conditioner before purchasing it, as a little 100g bottle of it costs £9.95!

Pros:

I personally like the smell of this conditioner a lot. It smells really fresh and makes me feel happy. It reminds me of the outdoors, of nature and of the Summertime 🙂 If you like very natural, floral, outdoorsy scents, you’ll really like the smell of Happy Happy Joy Joy!

After rinsing the product out of the hair, a scent lingers – but not the exact same scent as the product smells in its container. The musky floral scent of the product is hardly present, and instead the scent is much more zesty and citrusy. I think it smells lovely in the hair!

This product did condition my hair very well (almost too well!) My hair felt almost perfectly conditioned after using Happy Happy Joy Joy in face, and I only needed the smallest amount of R&B Hair moisturiser to reach that perfect level. If you are in some SERIOUS need of hydration for your hair, try this conditioner! This finding seems odd to me, considering that most reviews that that this conditioner is extremely light. Perhaps it is because of my hair being extremely straight, very fine and very thin and all natural! Perhaps if you have hair similar to me, you will also find this conditioner to be extremely conditioning!

This conditioner is very natural and it really feels like you are genuinely feeding your hair when you use it. My hair certainly feels healthier after having used this conditioner!

The name… Okay, so it’s just a name, right? But Happy Happy Joy Joy is just such a happy, cute, uplifting name, how could you not love it?!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this is an absolutely lovely conditioner from Lush. It just smells so happy, outdoorsy and natural! It also actually works extremely well at conditioning the hair (at least for my hair!) I found this conditioner to actually be TOO conditioning for my fringe area, but only just not conditioning enough for my ends. Considering that I didn’t even actually apply the conditioner to my fringe area, I’m not quite sure how I would be able to find balance with this product! The scent is very strong before rinsing it out – possibly even almost TOO strong. But I do really like it!

Overall, I’m going to have to give this lovely conditioner a 4/5* rating. If it would just leave my fringe and root area a little less oily, I’d probably give it a higher rating!

I hope you enjoyed my review!

Lush Trichomania Solid Shampoo Review

Trichomania Solid Shampoo (100g):

IMG_4007 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar can be a little bit messy. It is a solid product, and you buy it “naked.” This means that it can leave behind residue wherever you set it down after washing your hair. It also means that this bar changed shape and texture over the course of its life, due to absorbing moisture. This solid shampoo is particularly soft to start with, so it becomes sticky and leaves behind  residue/changes shape/texture even more so than other solid products that Lush do. If you just aren’t a fan of the concept of Lush’s solid products in general, this one is no different – so steer clear!

This shampoo smelled like nuts to me, almost like peanut butter actually. It smelled closer to how I’d imagine almond butter would smell though – peanut butter’s sweeter cousin. It was a nice smell to me at least, but some people might really hate it!

This product seems to run out pretty quickly.

I find this shampoo to be more moisturising than most, meaning that my hair would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using it. I had to wash my fringe daily whilst using this shampoo because if I left more than a day between washing it, it would look pretty damn greasy!

This is an extremely simple looking product. It just looks like a chunk of cream coloured soap. If you are after an exciting looking product than maybe this one isn’t for you.

Pros:

This shampoo made my hair SO soft. Like, the softest a Lush shampoo has ever made my hair, without doubt. EXTREMELY soft!

This shampoo moisturised my hair. I have had so much less static since switching from Cythia Sylvia Stout to Trichomania, and I am SO GLAD for it! My hair feels really lovely after using this shampoo.

Even if my fringe (and sometimes my roots) would get greasier quicker than usual whilst using this shampoo, the rest of my hair wouldn’t. This shampoo was almost like a miniature treatment for my hair – it really nourished it and kept it looking and feeling so much healthier than usual!

I thought the smell was pretty nice! I love nutty smells 🙂

This is obviously a solid product, which makes it super travel-friendly 🙂

This shampoo lathered up SO WELL! It produced a lather extremely quickly whenever I went to use it, and the lather itself would be frothy and extremely creamy.

This shampoo always cleaned my hair so well!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I honestly loved this shampoo guys. It is so incredibly underrated – why is it so underrated?!? I honestly wouldn’t have tried this shampoo out for the longest time had I not been randomly sent some as a sample with one of my Lush samples. I think because the Solid Shampoo Bars are so popular, the Solid Shampoos just get given far less attention. This shampoo is a real game changer though.

My hair is very fine, quite long (below shoulder length,) blonde, thin and straight. It is also all natural and is completely unprocessed. My hair gets greasy pretty quickly but at the same time, the majority of my hair (anything that isn’t either my fringe or my roots) is pretty dry and lacking in moisture. I find fine, thin, straight hair is not only more prone to oiliness due to how easily oils can spread around the hair, but that is also more prone to dryness due to how difficult it is for this hair type to retain moisture. Basically, this sort of hair is the equivalent of combination skin – both dry and oily at the same time 😀

I’m going to have to give this product a 5/5* rating. It was pretty amazing, and I’m genuinely sad that I used up my piece. Usually I’m actually happy when I use up a product, because it means I get to write a review on it and that I get to try something new instead. I really miss it though!

I would HIGHLY recommend trying this shampoo out. TRUST me! It is absolutely wonderful!

Lush Dirty Springwash Shower Gel Review

Dirty Springwash Shower Gel (100g)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shower gel doesn’t lather up as well as some others. That isn’t to say it is bad at lathering up, just that it could be a whole lot better. I’d find myself adding more product to my loofah at least once during my showers. The lather that it does produce just seems to disappear really quickly.

This shower gel has a very familiar concept, that some people might find a bit boring to be frank! It is a minty smelling product – I could name so many minty smelling/tasting products that I know!

I’m not keen on the name of this product in all honestly. I’m not a fan of the word dirty!

The scent is quite strong and could be almost too overbearing for some people.

This is a minty shower gel, as it contains spearmint oil, menthol crystals and thyme oil. This means that some people may find that this shower gel produces a cooling effect on the skin, which I definitely know some people dislike! If you don’t like feeling super fresh to the point of feeling a little bit cold, this one isn’t for you!

Pros:

I think this shower gel smells great! It reminds me of the scent of spearmint Polos. I really like the smell of mint a lot, and the combination of spearmint oil, menthol crystals, thyme oil, limonene and fine sea salt just make this shower gel smell that much more amazing!

The scent lingers on the skin. I could smell this shower gel on myself throughout the day, which was absolutely lovely.

This shower gel has a really pretty colour – a nice turquoise-aquamarine-blue. It is beautiful!

Using this shower gel did make me feel very fresh afterwards! 🙂

This is a vegan product, so all you vegans can use this one!

It does the job and cleans your skin very well 🙂

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this shower gel is really nice, but nothing incredibly special. It is a fairly common sort of scent, it didn’t lather up that well and well, I don’t know. It just didn’t really grab my attention all that much!

I did think the colour of this product was rather pretty, and I do like the scent. It cleaned my skin very well and made me feel rather fresh. The scent lingering on my skin is deifnitely the biggest pro for me!

Overall, I’m going to rate this shower gel a 4/5* rating. It was very nice, but nothing exceptionally special.

What have I gotten myself into…

By Saturday evening, I will be drinking and socialising with people I don’t even know exist at the moment.

After having spent the day hiking 11 miles with them across the countryside.

I have never been hiking before.

I haven’t socialised with anyone, without my boyfriend being present (besides going to college 3 days a week,) since December.

In 2015, over a year ago.

Here’s how it all started:

I was sitting at home by myself last night, feeling rather lonely. I live with my partner you see and other than him, I don’t speak to anyone often at all. I send and receive emails to and from my mother occasionally, and I only have one contact in my instant messaging app – which is my partner himself. I deactivated my facebook because I didn’t really get on with anyone on there. So my friendship circle, essentially, consists of me and my boyfriend. 😀

He was out drinking with his co-workers last night, so I was at home by myself from around 4pm onward. This scenario is common, and is generally fine by me. Only yesterday, I felt particularly left out and lonely, and told him I felt that way sometimes when he’d spend the evening drinking with colleagues. Regardless, he wasn’t home until 5 to 1 in the morning.

During the time by myself, I thought “Why should I sit here feeling sorry for myself?” “Why do I have to wait for him to be home in order to feel happy and entertained?” “Why should I priotise time with him, when he doesn’t do the same for me?”

I decided to make a plan involving only myself for a change. I wanted some adventure, some fun and some new people in my life. I searched for “adventure meetup” using google, and thus discovered Outdooraholics.

It was just what I felt I needed – just what I was looking for. Adventure and new people. I scrolled through their events and to my surprise, they had one as soon as Saturday (less than 2 days away at that point) – an 11 mile hike through the countryside. There were 3 available spots left. I thought this all sounded absolutely brilliant! I decided to join, and committed by paying the event’s fees.

I have no idea what I have gotten myself into.

I haven’t really been to meetups with strangers before – me and people generally do not go well together. You know how the oil always separates from all the other ingredients in the Olive Branch shower gel? I’m the oil. Me and people just don’t seem to mix.

I am excited and nervous, all at the same time. I’m also excited to see if I enjoy the idea of a meetup in general because if I do, there are so many other groups and events I could join. I’m only going to be committing one event at a time though. Don’t really want to throw myself in the deep end just yet!

I do hope I enjoy this. I love the outdoors, and I love adventure. Me and my partner don’t really go outdoors on little adventures very often though and as I said before, he’s the only person I really do anything with.

So there you have it. By Saturday evening, I will be drinking and socialising with people I don’t even know exist at the moment, after having spent the day hiking 11 miles with them across the countryside. I have never been hiking before. I haven’t socialised with anyone, without my boyfriend being present (besides going to college 3 days a week,) since December 2015, over a year ago.
