Questions from Lise

  1. Do you have a saying that you don’t necessarily intend to use but still do
I guess I say “um” a lot and don’t mean to? It’s not really a saying but it’s the closest thing I can think of… Oh, and I say “It’s like” before explaining something to someone too. And “You know what I mean though” while explaining something to someone…
  2. What would be your ideal living situation?
I love my current living situation, so something pretty similar to what I have now! Basically living with my partner. I wish we lived in our own mortgaged home though rather than a rented flat, and I wish we lived somewhere warmer or somewhere closer to my family. Other than that it’s pretty perfect!
  3. If you could have any non traditional pet, what would it be?
I would have… A little baby snake… Or a ferret if that’s counted as being non-traditional… Or an ocelot. Oh, one of them Savannah cats. Or a lizard. Or a serval, or a pig. I’ve genuinely always wanted a pet pig. Honestly I love all animals to bits and I’d be happy to take care of almost any animal if I could!
  4. What would be your dream job? Do you already have it?
I haven’t had a job for over 5 years! Terrible I know, I know. I’ve been a student since then. That’s no excuse to not work but full-time education does take a lot of work! So I definitely do not already have my dream job. My dream job would be to get paid to do something to do with travel, animals, nature, warm countries and statistics. So like an ecology statistician or something? It wouldn’t even feel like a job – it would be amazing! I don’t know how likely it would ever be though considering I’m getting a degree in Astrophysics and not in Ecology haha! Hopefully I’ll find a way 🙂
  5. What does blogging mean to you?
Blogging is my outlet. It’s my way to de-stress, to vent… To be free really! I feel entirely free with my blog to literally express myself however I want, which is amazing. I find blogging insanely therapeutic and that’s actually the reason I started my blog – I started it up when I was in a pretty dark time in my life and just felt like creating a blog was the best way I could help myself to feel a bit better. It’s also a nice way to have some public permanence if that makes sense? Like a way for me to “define” myself in a “certain” way? Basically blogging makes me happy!
  6. Do you have any weird holiday traditions?
Mmm… I always bring pretty much only Lush products with me on holiday, and will usually do a little Lush shop before going on holiday to make sure I have a solid shampoo and some sort of solid body wash and toothpaste etc. We also always search on Happycow to find all the local vegan restaurants, and try to visit the ones that sound the most amazing while in that country. We only really book holidays in affordable European countries… And we always seem to pack in a panic the same morning of our flight! Can’t think of anything specific though. Oh and on the flight, if we have the two outer seats I’ll always sit in the aisle, and if we have the two inner seats I’ll always sit by the window.
  7. Is there a fictional character you would have loved to meet in real life? Which one?
Not that I can think of? Oh, any Star Trek character for sure.
  8. What are the best and worst purchases you’ve ever made?
The best purchase is… Paying rent for this flat if that counts? If not then… God there are way too many good purchases!!! Um I’m going to go with Coalface from Lush – not because of how good the product is (although it is decent,) but because of what that purchase lead to. It was the first thing I bought from Lush and opened me up to the happy world of Lush! Worst purchase… Uhh… Once I bought a “vegetarian” samosa that actually ended up being lamb flavour or something and I only knew once I had bitten into it. That was a pretty bad purchase. I’m really frugal so I’ve never wasted a bunch of money on something to only regret it honestly.
  9. Whats the worst screw up you’ve ever had in the kitchen?
I don’t really cook but I could tell you some kitchen horrors that Richard has conjured up! Oh, I used to toast poppadoms in the toaster and they would always end up as charcoal and setting on fire.
  10. Do you have any “useless” talents? What are they?
I have really clicky fingers. Like I can click them all at once like most people do, but then I can go and click them all individually aswell. It’s not really a talent, just gross really isn’t it. I’m very talented at stressing out. And I can whistle. Can’t really think of any other useless talents!
  11. Has anyone ever tricked you into believing something and then you discovered it wasn’t true? What was it?
I’m really gullible so people do this all the time, but they always tell me straight afterwards so I never had to discover the thing wasn’t true. Like people have made me believe that there are exams on a day when there aren’t etc. Only little things though.

My questions:

  1. What would be your favourite place to visit abroad during the Summer?
  2. What is something exciting that you hope to happen this Summer?
  3. What are some activities that you have planned for this Summer?
  4. What is your favourite season and why?
  5. What are some of your go-to outfits for the Summertime?
  6. What is the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
  7. What is your favourite thing about the Summer?
  8. If you had to move to a different country, where would you choose to move to and why?
  9. What are your favourite things to eat and drink during the Summer?
  10. What are some of your favourite Summertime fragrances?
  11. What are some purchases you hope to / need to make before or during this Summer?

I tried my best to make my questions kinda “sunny” and relevant to the title ‘The Sunshine Blogger Award’! I hope some of you enjoy answering them. To anyone who wants to answer my questions and who wants to be nominated – consider yourself nominated! Thanks again Lise, I’ve have fun writing this blog post 🙂

The Beauty Tag

Hey guyyys! 😀

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! I was technically tagged by Lise over at Lushtivity, although not directly as she tagged anybody who wanted to give this questionnaire a go. She’s awesome. Go check her out.

1. Do you remember your first makeup item?

When I was probably around 6 years old, my mother took me and my two older siblings to a beauty shop and let us all pick one nail polish each – orange and yellow were my favourite colours so I of course chose the sparkly orange nail polish.

2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?
My perfect mascara would make my eyelashes look super natural – like my own eyelashes only slightly more enhanced and beautiful. I love a natural look! I’d also want the mascara to be ethical and made from natural ingredients – similar to Lush’s ‘Eyes Right’ mascara (the one that comes in the long tube from Oxford Street.) It would be super easy to apply and wouldn’t get all over my eyelids. As I said, Lush’s ‘Eyes Right’ mascara is the best one I have tried so far, but it is going to take some practice to learn how to apply it without getting product all over my face!

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?
I like a natural medium kinda coverage from my foundation. One where after I use it my skin still looks like my own, but just with less flaws. Again, I prefer makeup that just naturally and beautifully enhances what I already have!

4. Favourite high end brand?
The most expensive makeup I’ve tried is from Lush, so I guess Lush?

5. What cosmetics brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?
Honestly, none. I’m only interested in Lush products now haha!

6. Favourite drugstore brand?
I actually really enjoy just using MUA products for when I want some more affordable makeup. I bought a MUA eyeshadow palette recently and have been using one of the powders on my eyebrows every single day since. It works amazingly and was super affordable!

7. Do you wear false lashes?
Nope, never have. I’d like to try them just to see what they look like – just for fun. I’d never be into wearing them frequently though. Don’t like the idea of sticking random bits of plastic to my body too much.

8. Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?
I can leave the house without any makeup, so long as I’m not going to be seeing many people at all on that day. I can’t leave to go and have a normal day at Uni without foundation, setting powder and eyebrow powder. I’d also be fairly miserable if I don’t have my lip tint on too. The rest, meh. I usually just do my foundation before I leave and pack the rest of those items in my Uni bag – I do most of my makeup whilst commuting on the train!

9. What is your most cherished beauty product?
Probably my ‘Light Yellow Colour Supplement’ from Lush at the moment. It’s basically a foundation. Really not sure what I would do without it!

10. How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there, or get lots of goodies at once?
I never really shop for makeup apart from when I have run out of something that I use daily. If I do need to stock up on makeup though, I do prefer to make any purchases I need to make in one go.

11. Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?
I don’t have a beauty budget but I am extremely frugal. So technically I spend my money on beauty products freely as I don’t really keep a close track of it, but it’s still rare that I’ll buy any beauty products for myself.

12. Do you utilize coupons, reward cards and sales when you shop for cosmetics?
No. I just get what I need when I need it!

13. What type of product do you buy the most of?
I get through toothpaste quite quickly… And also shampoo. I strangely have loads of shower gels though, even though I get through them super slowly. I’m going to go with shampoo.

14. Is there a brand you absolutely can’t stand?
Um, not really. Any brands that test on animals or are absurdly overpriced. I’ve also always had a negative perspective on super popular, hyped up brands like Mac.

15. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics, like parabens or sulfates?
I’m a vegan so I do make sure any beauty products I use are also vegan. I also like natural products – the more natural the ingredients the better! I’m honestly not that fussy at the minute though – again, I tend to stick to trying out Lush products and for the most part they seem to do more good than harm thus far!

16. Do you have a favourite place to shop for makeup?
Again, Lush… If I can’t afford Lush at the time though, I’ll go take a look in Superdrug!

17. Do you like trying new skin care products or do you keep a certain routine?
I love trying new skin care products. Once I’ve found something that I really love though, I’ll not stray from using it (like my ‘Veganese Conditioner’ and my ‘Eau Roma Water Toner’ from Lush.)

18. Favourite bath and body brand?
I’m so tediously predictable. LUSH!

19. If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?
LUSH!

20. What brand do you think has the best packaging?
Lush… Only because they use recycled plastic to make their pots and have a really good recycling scheme. I also think their packaging looks quite funky.

21. Which celebrity always has great makeup?
I have no idea. I’m not really a fan of celebrities. I’ll say Rihanna just because she mostly seems to go for a fairly natural look that really enhances her natural beauty, which is what I like my makeup to look like.

22. Do you belong to any online makeup communities?
No.

23. 5 Favourite beauty gurus:
Meh, none. I nominate myself to be a beauty guru. There, now I can vote for myself!

24. Do you like multi-functional products like lip and cheek stains?
If that’s their primary purpose and they have been made specifically to be one just as much as the other, then sure. That sounds pretty neat. But, I tend to find that products advertised as being multi-functional usually have one primary function, and then a secondary, not-so-good function. So I guess I like them if they are ACTUALLY multi-functional!

25. Are you clumsy at putting on makeup?
Yes. I’m terrible at putting on liquid eyeliner – although I’d absolutely love to get good at it. I’m also pretty bad at applying mascara around 75% of the time – there is the odd time that it comes out pretty darn good. I always accidentally smudge my lip tint over my lip line too, and it takes a while to perfect the outline. So, long story short, yes.

26. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I use just a regular facial primer all over my face – including around my eyes.

27. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?
On a typical day I use shampoo and conditioner. That’s it. I used to use a hair moisturiser daily too but I used it all up 😦

28. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?
I just use a foundation!

29. Would you ever consider taking makeup classes?
Probably not. I really enjoy learning my own way around applying makeup, and how to apply it in such a way that works best with my unique skin, facial features, tones etc.

30. What do you love about makeup?
I love that it gives a person confidence in how they look, where they might feel completely unconfident otherwise. I love that it provides every single person in the world the opportunity to look the most conventionally beautiful that they possibly can. I love that makeup enhances an individual’s unique natural beauty, and really makes a person shine from the inside out. I love that it gives everybody the opportunity to look “on fleek” and like all of them beautiful models and celebrities they see. It gives us power to change our physical appearance and how we are perceived by others pretty damn easily. It’s pretty magical stuff.

I tag:
Whoever wants to do this questionnaire!

5 Lists About 5 Things

Hey ya’ll!

I saw my lovely blogger friend Lise’s post for this idea, linked here. Please head over to her blog and read her post too!

5 Lists About 5 Things:

5 Things I Often Say:

  • “Uhhm…” is a thing I say super often because I find it really difficult to articulate my thoughts, so I’ll say “Uhhm…” when I’m trying to think about what to say next!
  • “Hey” is usually how I greet people, so I guess I say it quite a bit 🙂
  • “HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” is how I greet my partner when he comes home! I’m always very excited to see him!
  • “For f*ck’s sake!” is something I say quite frequently when I get very very annoyed… Which happens quite a lot…
  • “Meow” is something I also say quite a lot when I’m at home – I absolutely love cats and think they’re just insanely adorable so of course I enjoy mimicking them!

5 Things I Often Think:

  • “Everything, everything, everything, everything…” is something I think a lot. I’m sure it makes absolutely no sense to any of you reading this, but it’s basically my brain-prompt to make sure I don’t forget anything!
  • “From all angles” is another thought I have a lot. It’s my way of reminding myself to make sure that I’ve approached the subject from all angles and again, that I haven’t forgotten to include anything. It’s something I particularly like to do when it comes to posting on social media sites.
  • “I need to lose weight, I shouldn’t eat that, I should be dieting today to get back to my ideal weight…” is a thought process I have a lot. Everybody says that weight fluctuates – well, mine doesn’t really. My weight just naturally inches it’s way up and up the scales, and it takes some work to maintain a specific weight. This means that every few weeks I’m back to having a few lbs to lose, hence why I have this thought process pretty often.
  • “I need to do something about my damaged hair, I need to do something about my unhealthy skin, I need to study for this exam, need to do this , need to do that, need to do everything…” Yep, I have fairly severe anxiety so I’m basically perpetually worried and stressing out about literally everything that I “need” to do.
  • “I love Richard so much…” He’s my partner and I’m fairly obsessed with him, despite us having been together (and living together) for almost 5 years now!

5 Things I Dream About At Night:

  • My dreams are fairly disturbing but I promise you that I am a normal sane human being. I think it’s from watching the entire “Britain’s Darkest Taboos” series on TV! Something I dream about a lot is about murdering people and then having to deal with the aftermath – hiding/disposing of the body, not getting found out by the police or by anyone for that matter, going into hiding, making sure I don’t leave behind any DNA or any “trail” of any kind etc… I know that sounds proper creepy, but if it helps then the people I end up killing in my dreams are always people who tried hurting/killing other people – usually my family members.
  • Sometimes I dream about having a baby with my partner! I’m insanely excited to one day have a baby and be a mother!
  • I have SO MANY DREAMS where I’m just running away from something. Just running, running, running and hiding… Running down streets, into back alleys, jumping people’s back garden fences, climbing buildings… Like, literally non-stop running away from something. One time I was running away from these monsters that were trying to EAT ME. One caught me and ate me and it was the most terrifying dream I’ve ever had I swear to God.
  • I have a lot of fairly psychedelic dreams. I’ve had dreams of being in a flying yellow submarine, and then everyone’s face started melting after eating lemon sherbet hard boiled sweets. I had another dream where my father turned literally bright green and shrunk to the size of a baby, so we put him into a crib and it turned out that this was all happening because he was really ill and was dying. Then the sky turned dark red and the sun set and everyone had really weirdly long shadows, and everyone had to evacuate that village thing but we had to leave my dad behind because, well, he was a dying green baby in a crib (still with his normal head BTW, just a baby’s body.) It was weird.
  • I’ve had some dreams where I’m living another life. Ones where I’m in the army have been really exciting. Another one I had was where I was the girl from ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and I was trying to sneak into some castle building thing, and there were loads of flying monkeys everywhere.

5 Things I Order Abroad:

  • I’ve ordered a beanie hat and a jumper from abroad once a couple of years ago… I think they were from China.
  • I literally think that’s it. Everything is just cheaper to get delivered from England and you can get most stuff from this country so I don’t really ever feel like I’m missing out on anything!

5 Things I Wish Would Happen Before The End Of The Year:

  • I wish that I’ll get proposed to and engaged before the end of the year!
  • I wish that I’ll achieve some more health goes by the end of the year – I’d be happy if I can even just maintain my ideal weight, drink a good amount of water everyday and fit in a nice amount of exercise daily!
  • I wish that I’d receive a 70% average for my first year of my Astrophysics degree – a 1:1! I should get those results in June, so I definitely wish for this by the end of the year!
  • I wish that me and my partner would move out somewhere more north (we’re thinking High Barnet) by the end of the year. A nice fresh new start!
  • I wish that I would get my first body mod since forever before the end of the year – something super meaningful to me, probably a tattoo!

Thanks for reading! Phew, that post turned out to be longer than I had anticipated. I really like to ramble on, don’t I?!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to leave a comment below if you found any of my points (or “things”) interesting. I’d also love to hear what some of you lot would put in your lists!

My Christmas Wishlist!

Hey guys!

I thought I’d write my Christmas Wishlist here for fun :3 I don’t expect anybody to buy me anything on this list, but it’s fun to use your imagination to think about what you’d pick for yourself if you were your own Santa! Heck, I’ll probably end up treating myself to many things on this list in the end anyways!

  1. Lush Eyes Right Mascara:
eyesrightI really want to try this mascara! I love Lush’s makeup, and use the Light Yellow Colour Supplement and the Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Tint pretty much daily! I know that I would use this mascara, and the Oxford Street store has a nice version of Eyes Right that comes in a long tube with a longer mascara wand. Perfect seeing as the Oxford Street store is the quickest one for me to get to!
  2. Lush Independent Eyeliner:
    independent
Again, I’d just love to try more of Lush’s makeup range, because it really seems to work very well for me! It agrees with my skin for the most part, and definitely enhances my more positive facial features whilst dulling down the more negative ones. Also, I haven’t used liquid eyeliner in so long and I feel like having one from Lush would encourage me to be a bit more adventurous with my makeup! All I use at the moment is foundation (which I never used before obtaining it from Lush, and now I could hardly live without it,) and a lip tint (never used to use bold colours and again, couldn’t go without using it now!)
  3. Lush Emotional Brilliance Translucent Powder:
    emotional brilliance.JPG
Another makeup product! I’ve heard so many amazing things about this powder so I’m absolutely dying to try it out! The packaging on the powder I use at the moment always cracks and although the colour is a perfect match to my skin tone, it leaves the texture of my face looking… Meh… I’ve heard that Lush products combine and work best with other Lush products, so I’m really excited to see how Emotional Brilliance Translucent Powder will look on top of my Light Yellow Colour Supplement.
  4. Lush Veganese Conditioner (1kg) :
    veganese
Kinda like the above picture, only a 1kg version 😉 I absolutely adore this conditioner – in fact, it is my favourite conditoner from Lush, and thus my favourite conditioner full stop! I’d love to just stock up and have tons and tons of the stuff so that it will be more cost effective and last me longer before I next need to repurchase any. I also haven’t actually used a conditioner in my hair since… Well… A really, really long time ago (between 6 and 9 months ago…) I’d really appreciate being able to condition my hair with a quality conditioner again!
  5. Eau Roma Water Toner Water (250g) :
    eau roma water
I really, really miss having a toner. Especially THIS toner. A 250g supply would last me far longer than my 100g one did. I just feel like this is such an essential product for me and I hate not being able to use it!
  6. Jason And The Argan Oil Shampoo Bar:
    Jason_argan_oils_web
I haven’t been using a shampoo for a while – ever since my Brazilliant shampoo bar ran out about a week ago. I’ve just been using shower gel in my hair since then! I do have little bits of shampoos here and there, but I’d love a nice fresh shampoo bar 🙂 I’ve never tried Jason And The Argan Oil – but it smells SO good!
  7. A £75 Primark Gift Card:
    Primark Gift Card Giftcardcentre_co_uk
Honestly, I just absolutely love myself some Primark! I find shopping there to be fairly stressful, but very, very fun. They always seem to have something I like and I’m still in search of some new pieces to replace some old items of clothing I have, so a Primark Gift Card would just be absolutely perfect for me! Who doesn’t love doing a good Primark haul?!
  8. Sony Cybershot W830 8x Zoom Compact Digital Camera (Pink) :
    camera
Okay, so the only camera I have really is the camera on my phone – which is decent, but not that great. I’d love to have my first adult dedicated camera! This one just has some really good reviews, and  just seems like a great choice for a first camera to me. I love taking photos and would really like to get even more invested in taking photos and videos!
  9. Casio CTK-1200AD Full Size Starter Keyboard:
keyboardI don’t really know how to play any instruments, but I’m really interested in learning how to play one. I feel like a keyboard would be a nice instrument to begin with!
  10. Ever Us 14ct Yellow Gold 1.50ct Two Stone Diamond Twist Ring:
    ring.png
…Because a girl can dream, amiright?

So, there’s my Christmas Wishlist! Of course, I don’t actually expect to get any of these items – it’s just really fun to make a list! Don’t knock it until you try it. What an insane Christmas that would be though!

What do you want for Christmas? Have you made a Christmas Wishlist? If you have or if you do, please send me the link in the comments below – I find these so fun to look through!

Seven lessons I’ve learned this year – October blogging challenge #7

Okay, so I saw Lise’s post for this blogging challenge and decided to just do this challenge because it sounds fun. So, here it is!

Seven Lessons I’ve Learned This Year:

  1. I’ve learnt that your mental health comes first, always. When you have mental health problems, the times when you feel okay are unfortunately likely to just be a temporary spike in feeling positive, and it is still extremely important to keep your mental health in check by talking to a professional. It’s easy to feel like “I feel great right now, so there’s no point in me booking an appointment to see my doctor!” Don’t fall into this trap! Your mental health determines your perspective of literally EVERYTHING in your life. Taking control is priority.
  2. Cherish the people you love in your life, all good things must come to an end. If you have a partner, truly appreciate the amazing moments when you get to snuggle against his/her chest. If your parents are still around, appreciate that they are! If you have ANY friends, respect them and realise how lucky you are to have people that are there for you when you need them the most.
  3. BLOGGING helps encourage positive mental health, in my experience. When you’re feeling down, write a blog post to cheer yourself up! When you’re feeling like being productive but don’t have the energy to tackle any housework, write some blog posts! When you’re excited about something in your life and feel like you have nobody who would care enough to want you to share it with them, write a blog post about it and share it with your followers! You can literally blog about whatever you want to at the time, and it has definitely helped me out this year 🙂
  4. PERSISTENCE WORKS. I had to fly to a different country by myself when I was 19 years old in order to pursue an education. Four years later, and I am FINALLY studying on a bachelor degree in Astrophysics at my chosen University, which is all I wanted in the first place! It has taken me 4 years to get to this point and if it wasn’t for my persistence, I wouldn’t have come this far.
  5. It is actually important to try to do something eventful and memorable in your life as often as possible.. You know when you feel like “Where has the year gone…?” Yeah, well our perception of how long the day/week/month/year/life has been depends on how many milestones and eventful occasions we have experienced. So, somebody who makes sure to do something eventful and memorable everyday for a year would perceive that year as being longer than somebody who only did a handful of eventful things in that year. TRY to make everyday memorable – in any way possible!
  6. Start the day well – even on weekends. If you don’t get up early and full of energy, and if you don’t start your day with eating a good breakfast whilst checking your emails, a shower, getting dressed and throwing a load of laundry in the washing machine, you’ll just end up feeling sluggish all day and everything will feel 10x more difficult to get done. What you achieve in the first hour or two of your day really does make ALL the difference!
  7. Things don’t change all that much. If something about a person is bothering you, then they will still do that thing that bothers you 3 years on. If you have mental health problems, they don’t just disappear. They can calm down, but many of the symptoms will likely still be with you 3 years on. Working is difficult, studying is difficult, and it DOESN’T get easier with time. Accept the fact that many problems in life aren’t going to change much with time, and find ways to manage your problems rather than hoping they’ll just magically disappear.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

sunshien award.png

Thank you so much to Lise for nominating me! She writes over at Lushtivity 🙂

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger who has nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs and write 11 new questions for them.
  • List the rules and display the logo of sunshine blog award in your post.

Questions from Lise:

  1. If you had to describe yourself in four words, what would you choose?
Neurotic, overthinking, true and sensitive. HOWEVER, upon asking my partner how he would describe me in 4 words, the person that knows me more than anyone else other than myself, he said “Caring, intelligent, chilled and beautiful.” Just goes to show that not everybody sees you how you view yourself!
  2. You’re stranded on an island and can only bring one item, one person and one food item. What and who do you bring, and why?
Okay, so I assume there won’t be any signal on this island but just at the slight chance that there would be, I’d have to say I’d bring a phone. So I could call someone to help me – and also to occupy myself while on the island. I’m going to have to be a bit boring with this one, and say that I’d bring my partner. I feel safest and happiest when I’m with him 🙂 As for food, I’d being a whole lot of kale. It’s extremely nutrient dense and I feel it is the most likely food item that would prevent us from dying…
  3. You have the chance to go back in time to change one major world event. What would you change?
Eh, I’m not so great with the history of the world honestly and I’m not the type of person that would go changing history if I could. The butterfly effect of such changes could just make the present a whole lot worse! Assuming it wouldn’t make anything worse though, maybe the holocaust? I really don’t know!
  4. Why did you start blogging? Do you feel different about it now?
I started blogging to make all the billions of disorganized thoughts in my head, organised and “real”. I just wanted to have my thoughts presented in a more solid place than just inside my mind, and to have a place to feel free to express myself fully and truly. I don’t feel any differently about it now! I don’ t think my intentions will ever change 🙂
  5. What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Well, Storm is my name (and is also just a pretty cool world to have in the title of a blog, in my opinion,) and my blog is like a window into my perspective of the universe I suppose. Hence, “Storm’s Universe.”
  6. What is your current favorite song?
“Oh No!” – Marina and the Diamonds.
  7. If you had to just eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    Vegetable fried rice.
  8. What is your biggest flaw?
    My neuroticism…
  9. Do you have a favorite series? Could be anything from books to tv shows.
    Star Trek.
  10. Did you keep your new years resolutions?
I don’t made new years resolutions – but I do give myself “Birthday Goals.” I have sort of passively tried to achieve them so far.
  11. Do you have any exciting plans for the future?
Yes, I do! I am going to Mallorca on the 29th for 12 nights 🙂 Very, very excited! Me and my partner shall be staying in a gorgeous little guest house thing with a pool (and a really nice bath.) I shall also be beginning my Astrophysics degree in September which is pretty awesome. Nothing else exciting has a date set for it to occur, but there are many exciting things I hope to happen soon 🙂

Okay guys, I don’t mean to be a party pooper but I’m not going to think up of 11 questions or tag anyone just yet. I have lots to do today but I promise I will get around to it when I have time! I hope you enjoyed reading my post regardless 🙂

The Happiness Tag

Tagged by Lise at Lushtivity!

The rules for this tag
List five things that makes you happy
Share five songs that makes you happy
Tag at least five bloggers that makes you happy

What makes me happy:

  1. RICHARD! Richard is my amazing partner and he makes me more happy than anything else in the world! Especially when he’s happy and smiling 🙂 Nobody knows me as well as he does, and he accepts me for all my negative traits whilst loving me for all my positive ones. He’s genuinely made me a far more kind and better person than I’ve probably ever been before in my life. He’s my ray of sunshine 🙂
  2. My family. All my family members are healthy enough and are alive, and are such lovely people! Sure, we have our little arguments sometimes like anyone does, but we are generally such a close family that those things don’t really matter much to us. My family always have been and always will be there for me, and I for them. They’re the most accepting people I’ve ever met, and I always feel super comfortable when I’m around them! You guys are awesome 🙂
  3. Nature! Lise also listed this as one of the things that makes her most happy, and it’s definitely in my top 5 list too! Animals and nature overall is just… So true to itself, if that makes sense. If an animal ever did hurt another animal, it is usually because of it being their instinct to do so. I don’t know – I feel like humans can be sinister and cruel when they’re easily able not to be, however I think when an animal seems to act “cruel”, it is purely in their nature – if that makes any sense (like when a cat sees a mouse and tries to kill it, it is practicing hunting techniques and would find it extremely hard to avoid doing so!) I don’t think an animal would ever hurt another purely for the sake of doing it / out of pleasure of seeing the animal hurt, whereas some humans do! All nature – plants, scenery, animals, the weather… It all makes me very happy!
  4. Art! All forms – dance, music, paintings, makeup, film… I think creativity and personal expression is such an important part of life. No two pieces of art are exactly the same, or come from exactly the same perspective. I just love the uniqueness of it 😀
  5. Lush. Okay, so this one may seem a bit shallow, but it really does mean a lot to me. I love using Lush products, and they really have improved the health of my body (skin, hair, teeth etc.) I think they’re products are such lovely things to indulge in, and help you to remember that your health comes first! They’re products are just all so lovely, and the entire Lush experience just makes me feel so happy!

Five songs that make me happy:

Now, I found coming up with songs that make me feel happy to be pretty difficult – there are an awful lot of good songs in the world. My solution to this problem was to provide songs that invoke happy thoughts and feelings, in relation to each of the things that make me happy from the list above

1. Buffy and Spike – Let Me Rest In Peace.
So, this is a track from the musical episode in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Me and my partner absolutely love the series, and it was even the first series we watched together, almost 4 years ago. We particularly enjoy this song, and have sung it many a time together.

2. Politicide – Last Mourning.
Okay, so basically, me and my siblings were brought up with parents who were in a Punk band! They’d often go to gigs, and would regularly bring us guys with them (even when we were REALLY little!) I’ve been brought up with their music – them recording their music in the home, listening to their music in the car… There aren’t many of their songs on YouTube, but this is one of the songs that we all listened to a lot! Mostly due to us kids – we absolutely loved it but I don’t think it was a particular favourite of my parents! My mother was the bassist, my father the singer and electric guitar player, and my father’s friend was the drummer of the band 🙂

3. Bach Cello Suite No. 1.
Okay, so there is something just so beautiful and pure about this piece – which is exactly what I love about nature. It’s so calm and is lovely to just listen to 🙂

4. Los Aldeanos – Los Aldeanos ft Bebe
This one might seem like an odd choice, but I really, really enjoy the creativity put into this song! It was a hard decision because gosh – my favourite artists are all super creative. Bjork, FKA Twigs, Marina and the Diamonds, Sia, Kimbra, Tricky, Lovage, Massive Attack, The Specials… I chose this song though, because… I couldn’t even say. I don’t know. I just think this song has been beautifully put together. I can’t even speak Spanish, so for me it’s more about the sounds the individual’s voices combines with the music that I really appreciate. It just sounds so beautiful, and I love the contrast of singing styles within the song.

5. Nature Sounds
Okay, so this isn’t really a song… Basically, if you type “Nature Sounds” into Youtube, or “Rainforest Sounds,” or anything along those lines, many long recordings of nature sounds will come up. I LOVE LISTENING TO THIS STUFF! It’s so calming, so beautiful, so relaxing, so perfect. I mean, I’d much prefer to just be outside and be in the actual location that the recording was taken, but hey, that’s not always possible. When it isn’t, these tracks will really transport you places! I’ve related these to Lush because of course, Lush is all about nature 🙂

I’ve tagged people before and they didn’t end up writing responses – which is all cool I mean, nobody should feel forced to write anything that they don’t feel like writing! But, since this is the case, I’m not going to be tagging anyone this time. It is time consuming to do, and well, seems pointless! If you want to do this tag, then consider yourself tagged by myself 🙂

If you DO do this tag, please comment below with the post. I’d love to read it!
