Lush Love You, Love You Lots Soap Review

Yes yes yes, I’m very aware that this is a really old product from Lush (Valentines Exclusive 2017,) but I’ve only just used it up. Here’s my review – I hope you enjoy!

Love You, Love You Lots Soap (100g):

love-you-love-you-lots-soap-lush-013117 (2)

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This was a Valentine’s Day Exclusive product in 2017 – it would be very difficult to get your hands on the soap now and would be even more difficult to stock up on should you happen to fall in love with it!

This is a very girly soap. It is pink, has the word “love” written in it with a heart for the ‘o’ (in translucent cherry red,) is super creamy and smells like soft, powdery roses. That’s not to say that a man couldn’t use and enjoy this soap of course! It just may not be the soap you want to purchase for a man or woman who doesn’t appreciate cute products very much.

The scent, although very soft, is still quite sweet and could become slightly sickly after a while!

Pros:

This soap was pretty creamy. If you have sensitive or dry skin, this soap would be a good one to try. I definitely found this soap to be more calming and soothing on my hands than a lot of other soaps I’ve tried.

‘Love You, Love You Lots’ lathered up really well.

This soap did a great job at cleaning my hands thoroughly.

This is an ADORABLE soap! It is a super cute bubblegum, pastel pink colour, with the word “love” on the top of it, with a heart for the ‘o’. The writing is in transclucent, cherry red. The whole product smells like powdery, soft roses (if that makes any sense!) It has a sweet, soft, floral, rosy scent. The name is really cute too. This is definitely a product for any girly girls who are into everything sweet scented and pink!

This product was gifted to me, and it made a really sweet gift as part of a gift box for Valentines Day!

Even as somebody who isn’t super girly, I think this soap looks really cute. The pink colour is different to any other soaps I’ve seen from Lush so far (or any other company for that matter.) This soap would even look lovely just being on display in the home!

The scent is quite inoffensive, because of how soft it is. It is definitely a feminine scent but it is so light and calming and pretty scented that I don’t think it is a scent that would bother anybody very much.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this soap was fine. The design was super cute, it smelled pleasant and at the end of the day, it did it’s job at cleaning my hands very well. The entire formulation of the product is inoffensive in general – the scent, the creaminess… I think this would be a really good gift for somebody you appreciates cute and feminine beauty products πŸ™‚

Overall, I rate this soap a 4/5* rating. It was a really really lovely product, but wasn’t anything life changingly special to me. The best part about the soap was the concept – it’s just so flipping cute!

Lush Brazilliant Shampoo Bar Review.

Hey guys!

Here is a review of Lush’s Brazilliant Shampoo bar. I hope you enjoy!

(Photo from Lush UK website.)

Brazilliant Shampoo Bar:

Braziliant_web

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar does break into little pieces once it begins to get thin! I HATE that this happens to Lush’s shampoo bars – it’s such a pain to use little tiny pieces of shampoo bar, and I just can’t waste them and throw them in the bin! Using them tiny pieces of shampoo bar is a super time consuming process.

This shampoo bar does stick to whatever you leave it to dry on – although not massively. Regardless, it’s still an aspect of this product that I don’t enjoy very much!

I personally found the scent of Brazilliant to be a little artificial smelling. I’m not sure why this is. To me it smelled similar to a chemical-filled orange flavoured squash or something. Not terrible smelling, but not as good as it potentially could have been!

I didn’t notice any improvements to the condition of my hair while using Brazilliant.

Pros:

Now, I bought this shampoo bar for me and my partner to take with us for when we travelled to Mallorca! So, whenever I smell Brazilliant, the scent instantly makes me think of Summer and our time in Mallorca, which certainly isn’t a bad thing!

I think the overall scent of Brazilliant is quite fresh, uplifting and Summery. I’d definitely recommend trying our Brazilliant during the warmer half of the year!

This shampoo bar always left my hair feeling super clean, soft and not overly dried-out – even when not using a hair moisturiser of any kind afterwards. It didn’t leave my hair actually feeling moisturised, it just left it feeling fairly nice πŸ™‚

Although Brazilliant does begin to break into pieces once it becomes really thin, it held together far better than I expected it to. I think for some reason I was under the impression that Brazilliant was a soft shampoo bar when I first purchased it, and that it would break into pieces really quickly. In actuality, it held together far better than most of the other shampoo bars I have tried from Lush!

Okay, this is a big pro that I only just remembered about this shampoo bar. IT LEAVES A SCENT IN YOUR HAIR! I’m not even kidding, this is the FIRST shampoo bar from Lush (I believe) that I have used that has actually left a scent in my hair after usage. The scent is really faint, but it is definitely there! It’s also a nice neutral scent – not many people are off-put by the scent of oranges, right?

The colour of Brazilliant is absolutely phenomenal. It is the brightest, happiest, opaquest orange you’ve ever seen! I absolutely love it, and again, it is super appropriate to have in the bathroom during the Summertime for this reason!

Brazilliant lathers up really beautifully, and lasts a very long time (around 3 months for me and my partner!)

Even the name of Brazilliant is really summery! This is like the ultimate happy Summer shampoo IMO πŸ˜‰

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really enjoyed this shampoo bar – especially the concept of it πŸ™‚ It wasn’t absolutely amazing though – Brazilliant didn’t help the condition of my hair out at all really, and I still got loads of split ends while using it! I definitely recommend using it during the Summer though, alongside a good moisturising product to keep your hair hydrated πŸ™‚

Overall, I’m going to rate Brazilliant a 4/5* rating. It worked really well as a shampoo, despite its novel format, and is a really lovely product!

Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment Review

Hey guys!

Yet another Lush review! This is a product I have actually had for an insanely long amount of time – just over 2 years now! I finally used it up though – I hope you enjoy my review πŸ™‚

(Photo taken from Lush USA site.)

Grease Lightning Spot Treatment:

02896

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

If you want to get this product and you’re expecting miracles, just don’t. The effects of Grease Lightning are pretty mild the majority of the time.

The texture of Grease Lightning can turn a bit funny! Mine developed gross hard lumps in it by the end, although, I did use it for a really long time.

Toward the end of the product, the bottle that it comes in makes it really difficult to use up the last bit of product. I had to add a little bit of water to the bottle, shake it up and then empty it into a little black sample pot. I kept repeating the process until all of the spot treatment was in the little black container. Not a huge deal, but definitely a bit of a pain.

This product shows on the skin when it dries. It makes the skin look a little shiny and sometimes a tiny bit crispy – similar to how dried PVA glue would look on the skin once dried! I never found this to be a huge problem, as it would only notice if I had the product on by itself (and in those times, I’d not leave the house anyways!)

Pros:

This spot treatment DOES work – even if the effects are mild. It especially worked extremely well when I first began using it. Here’s an example. I pierced my septum around 6 months after purchasing Grease Lightning. I pierced it myself, and the jewellery I decided to use was too small for the piercing, which caused irritation. My skin developed some sore bumps where the skin was pierced. In a panic, I decided to try heavily applying some Grease Lightning to the bumps and to leave it on overnight. Hey presto, in the morning the bumps were completely gone! I also clearly remember applying Grease Lightning to my acne near when I first began using it, and the next day all of the little bumps on my skin were completely gone, my pores looked clearer and any larger spots had become smaller and had begun to heal. If you need a spot treatment, this one is certainly worth a try!

Grease Lightning contains a lot of Aloe Vera gel, so I would use this on me and my partner whenever I’d notice a bug bite on us, and it would really help! I also would use it on any rashes, scratches etc, and it always seemed to just be a generally healing product to use.

This product lasts a REALLY long time!!! It is 100% worth the money. Again, it lasted me just over TWO YEARS, and was fine all the way up until near the end of the product.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this product was pretty good, but no miracle worker. I wouldn’t say it is a cure for acne or anything like that, but used alongside other products it can definitely HELP to cure acne.

I would definitely recommend Grease Lightning. It is an extremely cost effective product as it lasts for such a long amount of time, and can help so many different skin problems.

Overall, I’m going to rate Grease Lightning a 4/5* rating. It did do its job and helped to calm down my acne, and I also found it to be useful for many other things, such as bug bites and piercings! It wasn’t perfect though, I mean, my skin still isn’t great!

Lush New Shampoo Bar Review

New Shampoo Bar:

new_shampoo_bar_be_cruelty_free_solid_shot_1 (2)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This shampoo bar doesn’t leave your hair feeling COMPLETELY cleansed. What I mean by this is that although it does leave your hair clean, it also seems to add something back into your hair. I don’t know if it’s the glycerine or the oils within this shampoo bar, but I know some people just want their hair to feel super squeaky clean when they are done with shampooing!

The scent isn’t sweet, fruity or foodsy. The scent of New is quite green, minty and spicy. It has a very fresh scent, with hints of earthy and woodsy scents thrown in there. I know some people aren’t drawn to these sorts of scents!

I found that the New shampoo bar did stick quite a bit to the surface that I would lay it on once I was done using it in the shower (I rested it on top of a shower jelly lid.) This would leave behind quite a bit of sticky shampoo bar residue, and was quite annoying!

Pros:

I personally think the way that New shampoo bar leaves your hair feeling is REALLY nice! It leaves your hair feeling slightly conditioned, which is something I personally appreciate πŸ™‚ I found that the shampoo bar being fairly moisturising also meant that my hair would be more smooth, tame and manageable after washing my hair!

This is a really refreshing shampoo bar. The mint and spices in New make your scalp feel super fresh, and the scents that this bar gives off are just what anyone needs to help them wake up and feel energized!

New has a little wooden stick embedded in the top of the bar, that says #BeCrueltyFree on it. I think this is a really cute addition to the shampoo bar, and is something that you can keep afterwards if you’re insanely sentimental like I am…

Most importantly, New shampoo bar does its job! This shampoo bar always cleaned my hair as much as any other shampoo would do which, ultimately, is what is the purpose of a shampoo is in the first place.

The scent is very unisex in my opinion. Many of Lush’s products carry scents that can be very obviously geared toward females, by being stereotypically sweet, foodsy and fruity scented. That isn’t the case with New shampoo bar, which I think is fantastic!

New shampoo bar lathers up absolutely amazingly.

Shampoo bars always last a pretty good amount of time before they are completely used up, and this one is no different. It lasted me and my partner absolutely ages!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think New shampoo bar is definitely a very good option if you’re looking to try a new shampoo. It isn’t an absolutely perfect product, but I do think it is pretty amazing, especially for a shampoo! It just always left my hair feeling so amazing and more conditioned than most shampoos leave my hair, and made my hair overall feel really healthy.

Overall, I rate New shampoo bar a 5/5* rating. Again, it wasn’t absolutely perfect, but it was good enough to warrant this rating!

I’d highly recommend giving this product a try if you haven’t done so already πŸ™‚

Lush Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster Mouthwash Tabs Review

Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster Mouthwash Tabs (45g)

Rating: 3/5*

Cons:

I wasn’t keen on the taste of these. At all! The taste did not grow on me, and I really didn’t enjoy it. They tasted like citrus mixed with sweetener and aniseed. I don’t like aniseed after an incident I had with Ouzo once. Ugh. Disgusting. Gross. I HATED THE TASTE OF THESE. PLEASE GOD NO!!! Eughhh so gross!

I found it kinda difficult to get these to fully dissolve into my mouth to become a mouthwash. I’d always be left with some gritty liquid to swish around, and would often find little gritty pieces of mouthwash tab left behind in/on my teeth after I had finished swishing.

The tabs create a mouthwash that is a bright, almost luminous yellow colour. You’re not supposed to rinse your mouth with water after using these, meaning that if any of that colour clings to your teeth, your teeth will appear more yellow after using these tabs! I didn’t particularly notice this, but it is something that made me feel slightly uncomfortable!

Pros:

My mouth would feel more fresh and clean after using one of these mouthwash tabs, so they did their job!

The taste was definitely a refreshing type of taste.

The sweet lemony taste of the mouthwash tabs was really nice!

These mouthwash tabs are a pale yellow colour, which I think looks cute! They are also in cute diamond shapes πŸ™‚

These mouthwash tabs are extremely travel friendly!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, these tabs were… Interesting… They did work, but they were sort of uncomfortable to use, because they just didn’t dissolve or break down that well in my mouth. I really didn’t like how gritty the mouthwash solution was!

I also HATED the aniseed taste. I think it was vile, and I think Lush are taking a big risk by flavouring a mouthwash product with aniseed considering how love/hate the flavour is! It was just nasty, and the last thing I’d want my mouth to taste like after having used mouthwash!

The mouthwash did work though, and it was a nice extra step to ensure that my mouth was super clean. They are really handy aswell because of them being in a solid format, and they look adorable! The lemony flavour in them is nice too, but overall I think the taste of them is quite gross to be honest!

Overall, I’m going to rate these guys 3/5* rating. I can’t give them lower than that because they did their job, which is the most important thing really! They just tasted sooo gross

Lush Reindeer Rock Soap Review

This is for the new design of the Reindeer Rock soap from the exclusive Christmas range in 2016. I only just used up this soap a little while ago – here is my review of the product!

Lush Reindeer Rock Soap

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This soap doesn’t smell like anything incredible. It sort of smells slightly sweet and tangy, very floral, fresh and citrusy. Mostly floral and citrusy. It doesn’t have a bad scent, it just isn’t anything absolutely amazing in my opinion!

You can’t buy a specific amount of this soap. It comes in one set size and shape, so if you wanted to try a sample or if you wanted to buy a bigger piece of the soap, you’d be out of luck! Steer clear of this soap if you enjoy picking the amount of soap you want to purchase!

This soap was a Christmas exclusive product from 2016. This means you can’t buy it in store anymore – and it may not even return next Christmas! If you do somehow get your hands on some of this soap, and happen to really love it, you’re going to have a difficult time stocking up on the stuff!

Back to the scent – it wasn’t very Christmasy at all. The scent is more of a Spring/Summer scent to me!

This soap has quite a Christmasy name and also has quite a Christmasy appearance. This is a con, because it means that it may feel strange to use this soap during other times of the year. The scent and the appearance of this soap just do not go well together in my opinion!

I found this soap to be drying on my hands. Not extremely so, but I did notice a tiny little bit of dry skin on a couple of different days when I had been using Reindeer Rock as my hand soap.

Pros:

This soap looks absolutely gorgeous! It is in the shape of a stone, and is a gorgeous vibrant blue colour. It also has a caveman-style reindeer engraved into the top of it, which is coloured with golden lustre. The main blue soap itself also has golden lustre running all the way through it, which looks absolutely stunning.

Reindeer Rock soap lathers up wonderfully, and stays in tact pretty well. It only started breaking up once there was hardly any soap left at all, and it lathered up well fairly consistently.

I think the smell is quite pleasant. Again, not amazing, but it definitely is nice and entirely unoffensive.

The colour of the soap stays until the soap is completely gone. This, I have found, is quite rare with a Lush soap! The colour does fade, but it is definitely still a bright blue colour until its last use.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, me and my partner really enjoyed using this soap. It is probably the best lathering soap I have used from Lush to this day, stays together better than any Lush soap I have used to this day, and also retains its colour better than any Lush soap I have used to this day.

It wasn’t perfect though – but it definitely was a pleasure to use!

Overall, I’m going to rate this soap a 4/5* rating. If the scent was more down my alley, it would have been a 5* rating!

Lush Refresher Shower Jelly Review

Refresher Shower Jelly (100g):

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

Toward the end of its days, this shower jelly was extremely difficult to lather up. This was only really for the final time or two that I used the jelly, but I was really surprised with how little lather was coming from the jelly at this point.

Shower jellies are SUPER difficult to use up before their use by date – or at least Refresher was! I don’t fully remember when I received my Refresher jelly – I believe it was some time during the first week or two of January 2016. Its use by date was 15/02/17.Β I only managed to use this guy up yesterday – 17/05/17! It’s difficult to use up because you generally need such a small amount of product to wash your entire body with. If you aren’t cool with using products past their use-by date, maybe this jelly isn’t for you!

Refresher is a straight up lemon scented product. If you aren’t into citrus scents then you’re not going to like the smell of Refresher.

Pros:

I think Refresher Shower Jelly smells absolutely divine. It smells just like lemon sherbet sweets! It really does smell incredible!

This shower jelly lasts a really long time. You definitely get value for money when it comes to this product!

The appearance of Refresher is gorgeous! It is a bright, deep yellow colour, and is full of yellow lustre!

I found this Shower Jelly to be really moisturising! I think it is definitely more moisturising than some of Lush’s other body wash products. If you have dry skin or just love a moisturising body wash, give Refresher a try!

Everything about this shower jelly is super positive and uplifting. I personally received Refresher from my partner, as part of a gift set called ‘Happiness’. The occasion was very cheerful and uplifting in itself, and using a bright yellow, Β lustre filled, lemon scented jelly type product, straight out of the fridge, called ‘Refresher’, first thing in the morning just really added to the entire feel of the product. It is just… Such a happy product! It’s like Lush injected some positive vibes into this jelly.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I really enjoyed this product – a lot! Many people find shower jellies difficult to use, but I never had this problem at all. I just would take the jelly out of its pot, rub it onto a wet shower pouf and voila. Easy!

I think Refresher is such a happy jelly! It would be quite a difficult product to not love in my opinion.

Overall, I’m going to rate Refresher a 5/5* rating, but only just! I’m actually not the BIGGEST fan of lemon scents – I don’t dislike them at all, but I can find them to be a bit “much” sometimes. I couldn’t really give Refresher any lower than 5 stars though – it really is an amazing product, and is strangely underrated!

Lush Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb Review

Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb:

Rating: 3/5*

Cons:

This bath bomb leaves the bath water looking like many people peed in it. I’m not even kidding – it looks super yellow and kinda slightly frothy, but really not in a good way! If you HATE bathing in water that has this sort of a look to it, this is not a bath bomb you want to try!

The scent is quite sickly. To me it smelled like very sweet creamed coconut, or maybe coconut yoghurt. Either way, a super sweet coconut scent that definitely won’t be for everyone!

My Yellow Submarine tipped onto it’s side a little way into its show, and never turned back upright again. I like to let my bath bombs do their own thing, so I just left it that way. I expected him to float around upright for the entire show, so this was a little disappointing!

The colour the bath water turns is a real let down, because the show that the bath bomb provides is so colourful!

The scent of this bath bomb is very subtle – I could hardly smell it at all once I was in the tub, and couldn’t even really smell it very well while the bath bomb was fizzing away. If you like strongly scented bath bombs, this isn’t the one for you!

This was an exclusive product from Lush Oxford Street, and isn’t something that is readily available year-round. If you happen to get your hands on it, and happen to really like it, you’re going to find it difficult to stock up on!

This one was a really, really, really, REALLY slow fizzer. I honestly became a little antsy and fed up after around the 5 minute mark! I’m guessing the bath bomb took around 15 minutes to fizz away entirely. If you do not like slow fizzers, this one isn’t for you!

This bath bomb looks to me like it should smell of banana and marshmallow – like those banana candies and foamy candies in general that you eat as a child. It doesn’t smell like that at all though!

Pros:

This product is so cute! I mean, c’mon, it’s a bloomin’ yellow submarine!!! This product made me so nostalgic of times when I would watch The Yellow Submarine as a kid. The colours of the bath bomb and the show it provides perfectly represent the film. The Yellow Submarine bath bomb begins blowing out groovy bubbles toward the beginning of its show, and fizzes out beams of pink, yellow and pale yellow foam. The bath bomb slowly fizzes away around the bath tub, in a super chill fashion. I think this is the type of product that anyone who has seen The Yellow Submarine HAS to try at least once!

I really liked the colours of this bath bomb. They were super cute – a pale yellow submarine with a bright pink tail end.

The bath bomb really helped to soften my skin, and when it came to exfoliating (something I always do after washing my face and before shaving,) I was able to remove loads of dead skin! I know that’s pretty nasty, but my skin was soooo smooth and soft afterwards! If you want to have super smooth skin then exfoliate after bathing with this guy!

I received this as a gift from my partner, and it made a really fun gift! Perhaps this would be a good bath bomb to give to a Yellow Submarine fan as a gift πŸ™‚

This product is vegan and, of course, is a Lush product! Two very good things πŸ™‚

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I loved the concept and appearance of this bath bomb SO MUCH! I also liked the softening effect that it had on my skin. The idea of the bath bomb was brilliant overall, but I wasn’t personally very keen on the scent of it. It was too sickly for me! The scent was also way too subtle for me – I love it when I can still smell the bath bomb in my hair the morning after having taken a bath. This bath bomb also fizzes away WAY too slowly, and the end result was kinda icky to be honest.

Overall, I’m going to rate this bath bomb a 3/5* rating. It was a really fun concept for a bath bomb, and I’m really glad it was one that I got to try! The cons were pretty big for me though to be honest.

Lush Ultrablast Tooth Powder Review

I bought this from the Oxford Street Lush on March 18th, and just used it all up today! Time for Ultrablast’s review!

Ultrablast Tooth Powder:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

If you don’t like the idea of having a savoury tasting toothpaste, this tooth powder isn’t for you! It definitely does not taste sweet whatsoever.

This tooth paste is literally a powder – which could seem a little strange to some people! It this doesn’t sound like your sort of thing, try a different tooth product instead!

The powder did begin to clump and get sort of watery at the same time toward the end of the pot. That was a little annoying, but only slightly πŸ™‚

Pros:

I found this tooth powder lasted a very decent amount of time! It lasted me and my partner around 7 weeks to use up – not bad in my opinion! I think this was because the powder really didn’t clump up until right near the end of the product, so we would only pick up a small amount on our toothbrushes for each use.

Even though your toothbrush won’t pick up that much product, the amount that it will pick up will somehow ALWAYS be the right amount! I found with toothy tabs that sometimes I would need to use a couple to feel like my teeth were REALLY clean, but with this tooth powder, just one dab is always the right amount!

I found this product fun and novel to use, but still super simple! All I would do is to wet my toothbrush thoroughly and shake off any excess water suuuper thoroughly (until no droplets of water ping off the brush!) I would then open the tooth powder pot, and dab my brush into the powder – deep enough so that all the sides of my brush were slightly submerged into the powder. I would then pull my brush out and tap it on the sides of the pot, until no excess powder dropped off. Then I just brushed away! Super easy, and lasts absolutely ages this way!

I was able to use up all the product fairly easily, despite the last bit being a little wet and clumpy.

The scent is lovely and minty πŸ™‚

The taste to me was like a slightly savory, slightly salty mint flavour. That probably sounds really gross and weird, but I actually really enjoyed it! It kept my breath smelling incredibly fresh, and tasted really good to be honest! I think it is definitely at least worth a go πŸ™‚

This tooth powder doesn’t contain any fluoride – which some argue is bad for your teeth and health in general. If you want to avoid fluoride then this tooth powder is an excellent alternative.

You would think that this product being a powder would make it super messy and easy to spill, but I really haven’t had either of those issues so far (and this is my second tooth powder that I’ve used up.) In fact, I’ve dropped more product in the form of toothy tabs than I have in the form of tooth powder!

This being a powder makes it super travel-friendly πŸ™‚

I found that using this tooth powder meant that I used up less water whilst brushing my teeth – as it is far easier to rinse out after I’m done brushing, and as I don’t need to add any water to my brush after adding the product. Less water wastage guys!

This powder comes in one of Lush’s recyclable pots. When you return 5 of these pots, you get a fresh face mask from Lush for free!

Ultrablast is vegan.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I’m sure you can tell that I really quite enjoyed this tooth powder! I thought it tasted lovely, smelled lovely, was super easy to use, lasted forever and I loved the packaging for it.

I’m going to rate this product a 5/5* rating. It was an absolutely brilliant product and both me and my partner really enjoyed using it!

Lush Ocean Salt Self-Preserving & Alcohol Free Face and Body Scrub Review

Whew… That was a mouthful!

I just used it up while taking my bath πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy!

Ocean Salt Self-Preserving & Alcohol Free Face and Body Scrub:

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This is a product that is only available online as far as I know. That is something that can be a bit of a pain sometimes!

I actually couldn’t get this scrub to work by itself at all. It just wouldn’t do anything for my face whatsoever in terms of exfoliation. I learnt to first exfoliate my face with an exfoliating glove (Β£1 in Poundland etc) and THEN to use the face scrub.

Even after already scrubbing my face, the product still doesn’t really have much additional scrubbing action. I don’t knowΒ why this is. I honestly don’t. All I know is that this product isn’t very scrubby, and I’d have to keep applying the scrub to my face for it to actually work how I wanted it to!

This scrub stings when it is on your face! If you get it in your eyes, I’m so sorry. If you have any slight injuries on your face, perhaps a healing spot or a cracked lip, again, I’m sorry.

Pros:

This scrub will leave your skin so, so, so smooth. Smoother than it has ever felt. This is only slightly due to the scrubbiness of the product, and is more due to all of the oils and butters that the product contains. My face doesn’t feel oily at all, it just feels smooth and plump and lovely.

I really like the smell, and even secretly kinda like the taste of this product. I mean, I wouldn’t eat spoonfuls of the stuff, but a tiny bit always gets in my mouth while I’m scrubbing my face. It just tastes like salt. I like salt. Anyways, it smells and tastes fresh and like the ocean, in a non gross way. It is like all the good parts of the sea being squished into a product. I love it!

This is vegan and is also alcohol free. Other versions of this product are not vegan, and other versions are not alcohol free. This version has all the good things going for it! I think the product smells better without the vodka to be honest, and it also seems to work better. Either way, anyone who has ethics against alcohol and/or against vegan can use this product!

This product is alright for sensitive skin – at least more so than the version that contains alcohol!

This version of Ocean Salt is REALLY nourishing and feels very healthy on the skin compared to the other versions. I think it is the lime oil being steeped in glycerine instead of vodka. We all know that glycerine is a humectant, and draws moisture to the skin. I also found that with the other version of this product (Ocean Salt Self-Preserving,) it left a sort of sticky, oily residue on my skin. This version does not. The product is incredibly light and just absorbs into the skin.

My skin hasn’t exactly been perfect recently, but it has been better than usual. I have had quite a few spots recently, but more randomly placed around my face rather than being almost rash-like. My cheeks have been entirely clear, and my blackheads have reduced immensely. Maybe that’s part due to this product?

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I like this scrub quite a bit. I am surprised to say that I much prefer it to the non alcohol free version, considering that only one ingredient is different (vodka vs glycerine.) I do wish it was more scrubby though! And that it would hurt my skin a little less… I dunno, I guess the product could be quite a bit more effective, but it’s not bad.

I’m going to rate this product a 4/5* rating. It leaves my face real soft, what more could I want really?

– Storm

Out of the vegan facial scrubs available on the Lush UK website on 03/03/17, this is my favourite facial scrub!
