Beginning Blogging Again…

Hey guys!

Okay, I’m not going to lie to any of you. I’ve been pretty down in the dumps recently which has caused me to not really feel like blogging anymore. That’s okay! It happens. It’s frustrating because I have SO many ideas, but just don’t have the energy or space in my mind to spend on writing blog posts right now. I think being a student and just navigating your way through adult life does that to all of us at some point – drains our ability to be creative.

Well, I do really want to begin blogging again. Definitely not as a regular thing or anything – I want to keep my blog how it has always been. Just something I write in when I want to write, and about whatever I want to write about! Essentially, this blog is like my own diary or personal notebook or something that I share with anybody who like to read what I have to write. This blog has always been and will always be ME, through and through.

That being said, although I do want to start blogging again, my inability to be creative is making it very difficult for me to come up with anything that I can realistically write and post about given my energy levels, so I did do a little cheeky Google search for “easy blog posts”, and “X Biggest ______ Mistakes People Make” was literally the first idea on the first link that came up.

I’m just being kind to myself! I need to be kind to myself if I’m ever going to find blogging easier than I do right now.

So, 10 seemed like a good number and well, “relationship” is a topic that I feel fairly well versed in given that I’ve been in a rollercoaster style one for 6 and a half years, so let’s do this!

I hope you find the post helpful!

My Blog Needs More Attention.

Hey guys!

My blog ABSOLUTELY needs to be receiving far more attention from myself. I find writing about my life in my blog to be extremely therapeutic, and neglecting using my blog has genuinely had quite a negative impact on my mental health.

It’s about time I treat my blog, and give it the attention it deserves.

I’m going to get my laptop repaired so that I’m more able to write my blog posts in privacy and with ease.

I’m going to begin blogging a whole lot MORE – I have used up plenty of Lush products that I can easily write reviews for right now, a bunch of clothing hauls to write about, travel adventures that I want to share with you guys…

I’m tired of feeling like I don’t have my blog to fall back on when I’m feeling down. My laptop has been broken since around September last year, so since then it has been a lot more difficult to upload and edit photos for my blog, as well as to find the time and privacy to write blog posts using either my partner’s work laptop or his computer in the living room.

I’m tired of only having my old iPhone – glitchy, with a not-so-great camera, very little space and almost zero battery life, to be able to take any photos with.

I literally just want a simple laptop – one with seemingly forever-lasting battery life, one that runs quietly, easily and smoothly, one with a simple operating system that I’m already familiar with and don’t have to re-learn, one with a lot of space and enough cpu to run games fairly easily. It may SEEM like I’m asking for a lot, but my previous laptop was really affordable, had really good battery life, was light and small, ran really smoothly etc. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful for my current broken laptop as my partner did purchase it for me, it just really seems that these days you pay a LOT more for a laptop that is a LOT more dodgy if that makes any sense.

Anyways – need to get all my tech stuff sorted out, need to get rid of loads of stuff because we have a major lack of space issue, need to make the flat nice because our tenancy ends real soon… Maybe then I can finally be free(ish) to write more blog posts and post more pictures on Instagram etc.

The Sunshine Blogger Award

sunshien award.png

Thank you so much to Lise for nominating me! She writes over at Lushtivity 🙂

The rules:

  • Thank the blogger who has nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs and write 11 new questions for them.
  • List the rules and display the logo of sunshine blog award in your post.

Questions from Lise:

  1. If you had to describe yourself in four words, what would you choose?
Neurotic, overthinking, true and sensitive. HOWEVER, upon asking my partner how he would describe me in 4 words, the person that knows me more than anyone else other than myself, he said “Caring, intelligent, chilled and beautiful.” Just goes to show that not everybody sees you how you view yourself!
  2. You’re stranded on an island and can only bring one item, one person and one food item. What and who do you bring, and why?
Okay, so I assume there won’t be any signal on this island but just at the slight chance that there would be, I’d have to say I’d bring a phone. So I could call someone to help me – and also to occupy myself while on the island. I’m going to have to be a bit boring with this one, and say that I’d bring my partner. I feel safest and happiest when I’m with him 🙂 As for food, I’d being a whole lot of kale. It’s extremely nutrient dense and I feel it is the most likely food item that would prevent us from dying…
  3. You have the chance to go back in time to change one major world event. What would you change?
Eh, I’m not so great with the history of the world honestly and I’m not the type of person that would go changing history if I could. The butterfly effect of such changes could just make the present a whole lot worse! Assuming it wouldn’t make anything worse though, maybe the holocaust? I really don’t know!
  4. Why did you start blogging? Do you feel different about it now?
I started blogging to make all the billions of disorganized thoughts in my head, organised and “real”. I just wanted to have my thoughts presented in a more solid place than just inside my mind, and to have a place to feel free to express myself fully and truly. I don’t feel any differently about it now! I don’ t think my intentions will ever change 🙂
  5. What is the meaning behind your blog name?
Well, Storm is my name (and is also just a pretty cool world to have in the title of a blog, in my opinion,) and my blog is like a window into my perspective of the universe I suppose. Hence, “Storm’s Universe.”
  6. What is your current favorite song?
“Oh No!” – Marina and the Diamonds.
  7. If you had to just eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    Vegetable fried rice.
  8. What is your biggest flaw?
    My neuroticism…
  9. Do you have a favorite series? Could be anything from books to tv shows.
    Star Trek.
  10. Did you keep your new years resolutions?
I don’t made new years resolutions – but I do give myself “Birthday Goals.” I have sort of passively tried to achieve them so far.
  11. Do you have any exciting plans for the future?
Yes, I do! I am going to Mallorca on the 29th for 12 nights 🙂 Very, very excited! Me and my partner shall be staying in a gorgeous little guest house thing with a pool (and a really nice bath.) I shall also be beginning my Astrophysics degree in September which is pretty awesome. Nothing else exciting has a date set for it to occur, but there are many exciting things I hope to happen soon 🙂

Okay guys, I don’t mean to be a party pooper but I’m not going to think up of 11 questions or tag anyone just yet. I have lots to do today but I promise I will get around to it when I have time! I hope you enjoyed reading my post regardless 🙂

The Versatile Blogger Award.

I’ve been nominated for this award by Lise at Lushtivity. Thank you lovely!

versatile blogger.jpg

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself.
  • Nominate up to 10 other bloggers of your choice.
  • Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination.

Seven facts about me:

  • I left school when I was 14 years old! I just hated school, so I pestered to be taken out until my mother agreed to it! I was technically home educated, but didn’t hold any official qualifications of any kind until I had finished my year at college when I was 20 years old, after deciding to pursue an education at 19 years. During that year, I took GCSE Mathematics, GCSE English and an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Biological Sciences.
  • My family moved to Bulgaria when I was 15 years old. Around 10 days after moving there, I found a litter of abandoned puppies. I did my best to take care of them, feeding them goat’s milk from a baby bottle. Unfortunately they all died shortly after, apart from one. I named him Pippin, and he was my companion for the 4 years that I was in Bulgaria! I didn’t have other friends while living there, but Pippin kept me company! He died one winter, just a few months before I flew back to the UK.
  • While living in Bulgaria, me and my family lived in a mansion! It was an ex-government building of some sort. We lived in a little village in the East of the country. I loved how peaceful and natural my life was there – I miss it very much!

  • I live in an adorable flat in North London with my partner! We’ve lived together for pretty much the entire 4 years that we have been together. I first moved into his mother’s home when we were 19 and were just buddies, and we started renting our flat together last September.

  • I have never, ever had a tattoo – but I really want one!
  • I wear glasses, full time, 100%! I actually really can’t see too well without them, and the only reason most of my photos are of me without them on is either because my glasses were broken/lost at the time or because I took them off for the purpose of the photo.
  • My hair has been a lot of different colours in the past. Red, purple, black, burgundy, orangey, bright blonde, blonde with purple, black with purple, natural with a black fringe, magenta… I started dying my hair when I was 12 years old – the first time was just my natural hair with some permanent purple splodges in there (I thought that looked really cool.) 3 years ago I decided to dye and cut my hair one last time, before growing my hair natural. It has been completely natural since around a year ago, after having it dyed for 10 years!

I really can’t be bothered to nominate anyone honestly. It takes me a while to link up everyone’s sites – if you are reading this and want to have this award and do this tag, go ahead!

The weekend!

Finally, it’s the weekend! Now I can blog…

I’ve been waiting all week to just be able to write my heart out on my blog.

I love blogging. Just writing and writing about whatever it is that I feel like that day.

There’s so much I want to write about too. Places I’ve traveled to, get ready with me’s, fashion, astronomy, education, relationships, mbti, making a house a home… I want this blog to be like a little journal of my life and so far, it appears that my life is just Lush!!! I do love my Lush, but there’s a lot more to me than just that, believe it or not 😉

I have so many ideas and things that I want to write about… Once I truly get in the zone, I may never stop writing!

10 Question WordPress Tag

How long have you been blogging on WordPress? It will have been 2 years on the 15th December 🙂

How many blog posts are there on your blog? 64! 🙂

What was your favourite post to write? I’m not sure because I really have so many posts… I’m going to say my Leaving University post. Writing that post was just a massive weight off of my shoulders and helped me to stop worrying about the whole thing. It was also a massive decision for me to make and one that I am very glad about. That post signifies to me the end of a horrid period of time and the start of a much, much better one!

Who’s your favourite blogger? I don’t follow any huge bloggers, but I have been really enjoying reading glittersandmayhem’s blog posts (Glitters and Mayhem). Her posts are very sincere, genuine and down to Earth. I also like the types of things she posts about – I like that her blog isn’t just a beauty blog, but also a travel blog, fashion blog, lifestyle blog… Many of my favourite topics all rolled up into one lovely blog 🙂

Who would you like to collaborate with? Um… again, I’m not really a popular blogger and honestly, the idea of collaborating with someone for a blog post sounds rather boring!

Where do you see your blog in the future? I haven’t thought of the future of my blog much to be honest! I guess I see it ultimately just… gaining some popularity? I never see it being a major blog, and I don’t think I would like it if it did! I don’t intend to ever stop blogging though – I sort of think of it as my online journal.

What quote or saying do you live by? Um… I guess that you only have one life so never stop working hard toward your dreams! That isn’t an actual quote, so I guess something like “If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it.”

Why did you start blogging? Because I did not want to be bored over Christmas the year I started my blog, and because I did want to have a platform where I could express myself!

What challenges have you faced so far? So far, my biggest challenge with blogging has been… I haven’t really had challenges… I guess maybe my biggest challenge so far has been balancing my content? My blog posts now are mostly Lush reviews, and although I don’t want the amount that I post about Lush to be lessened, I wouldn’t mind the amount that I post about my education / life / plans / travel etc to grow, so that the distributions are fairly even.

What are your inspirations for blog posts? Let me thing. What has inspired me to write my blog posts? I think the main source of my inspiration has to be YouTube. I first started watching Lush reviews on youtube, I watch YouTubers talking about their lives and well, I don’t know. A YouTube channel for a YouTuber is like a journal of their life a lot of the time, and I guess that idea really appealed to me (minus the being in videos part!) There are’t any specific YouTubers, just YouTube in general 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I tag all my followers, give it a go! 🙂
