Lush R&B Hair Moisturiser Review

R&B Hair Moisturiser (100g:)

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This product will make your hair get greasy faster than it would do otherwise. I have really fine hair and also have a fringe, meaning this effect on me was really noticeable! I normally like to wash my hair daily as it is (or at least my fringe,) but when using this product my hair almost NEEDED to be washed daily.

A lot of people really hate the smell of R&B. To me it actually smells nice, but really, a LOT of people dislike its scent, so it’s definitely a product you should smell in store before purchasing.

The scent is really strong and clings to your hair. That means that if you happen to hate the scent of this product, even using the tiniest amount in your hair will cause you to smell of the stuff all day!

Although I personally do like the scent of R&B, just the fact that it is such a strong scent can make the product a little tedious to use. It’s like using the same perfume every single day for a REALLY long time! I mean, I’m not sure how noticeable the scent is to other people when it’s in my hair, but I personally can smell it very strongly throughout the day.

Using R&B correctly could be a struggle for some people. Everyone’s hair is different, so the amount you need to use in your hair wont be the same amount that somebody else needs in their hair. I personally used a really small amount at first, and kept adding more until I felt like there was enough product in my hair for it to have its full effect. After a while I learnt around how much product my hair needed. I also found it best to apply the hair moisturiser after washing and towel drying my hair. I’d begin at the tips, and work my way up to my roots, so that the least product would be on my roots and the most on my ends. I’d then brush my hair through, followed by using a hairdryer to dry my hair whilst running a brush through it. I’d brush one more time and voila! Learning how to use R&B to achieve the best effect for your hair might take some time!

Pros:

I personally love the scent of R&B, and really like the fact that the scent is strong and that it lingers in the hair (most of the time!) To me the scent is a very natural, sweet, buttery, herby floral scent. I REALLY like how it smells in fact, and so does my partner! I’m genuinely surprised by the amount of people that hate the way it smells.

Okay, so as I said before, my hair is SUPER fine. It’s also pretty long. R&B was a life saver for me when it comes to tangled hair. I could never imagine how easy it could be to comb my hair after towel drying it until I started using this product. It doesn’t matter whether your hair is dry, damp or completely wet, R&B makes it SO easy to comb your hair. Brushing my hair is a job that literally went from taking what seemed like 15 minutes to 15 seconds after using this product.

My hair has never felt so healthy and moisturised in my LIFE until using R&B.

R&B would also leave my hair feeling SUPER silky, smooth, soft and looking really shiny. It also helped my hair to look more bright and vibrant – it really helped my natural highlights to stand out! I always loved how my hair looked when I had used R&B.

This product would also help a lot with fighting static – I don’t remember hair static being a problem much at all during the time I used R&B, and it’s normally a pretty big problem for me and my fine hair!

My individual strands would look a lot thicker once I had applied this stuff, which is something I really enjoyed!

I’d find that my hair was stronger, healthier and would break a lot less when I had used R&B. The frequency of finding split ends reduced a LOT.

My 100g pot lasted me quite a long time. I asked my partner to run to Oxford Street after work to grab me a pot of the stuff on the 6th January 2017. I’m not 100% sure when I used it all up but I know it was very recently, so I’m going to go ahead and say that 100g pot lasted me around a year. Not bad!

The feel of the actual product by itself is really lovely. It feels super buttery and soothing.

R&B is a pale creamy yellow colour by itself – it even LOOKS buttery!

Despite what a lot of other people say, this product never made my hair feel greasy in a bad way. It would leave my hair feeling moisturised and healthy, and my hair would only begin to feel and look greasy if I didn’t wash it for over 24 hours. Even then, the greasiness was only really noticeable in my fringe so sometimes I’d just wash my fringe quickly in the morning – and tie my hair up if I was a bit paranoid about the rest of my hair looking greasy.

I didn’t have a conditioner to use in my hair for the longest time, so I relied on using R&B after washing my hair to keep it moisturised. It worked SO well, and a little really did go a long way. When I used it after having conditioned my hair, I’d need such a teeny bit to get the best effect from the product.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I absolutely loved this product and am really upset that it’s all gone now! I could hardly flaw it at all. In fact, I don’t really think I can really find a genuine flaw in the product personally.

I 100% recommend that everyone try a sample of this, or purchase a small pot of it. It isn’t recommended for my hair type but dayum, it worked wonders! I didn’t even think my hair was dry until I started using R&B and realised how healthy my hair could be!

Overall, I rate R&B a solid 5/5* rating.

Beautiful Women!

Hey guys!

I was having a little think yesterday about how my aesthetic has really changed over the years – in terms of the physical appearances of a person, what I personally find to be an attractive look on a woman, and what looks I want to draw inspiration from and impersonate to an extent.

I’ve been trying to work on how I look over the last couple of years, because I want to feel truly happy in my own skin, with what I see in the mirror and with how I am physically presenting myself to the world!

So, I had a little search on Google Images yesterday and found four photos of women who inspire me with their aesthetic! They’re absolutely stunning! ❤

1. c7566dbab3b16201079c381b917002f2--septum-piercings-septum-ring

First we have this absolute beauty! She’s just so gorgeous, and her aesthetic is pretty in-line with the aesthetic that I think suits me. Natural, long, wavy hair, sun-kissed skin, a septum piercing and super natural, feature-enhancing makeup. I’m 100% into the boho, hippie, natural, beachy vibe at the moment. My hair is completely natural and undyed as of 1-2 years ago, and I love it that way! I think you should rock what you have – anyone can replicate a box dye colour, but nobody can exactly replicate your unique mix of DNA that provided you with your hair colour (unless you have an identical twin, in which case your hair is 2 of a kind rather than one of a kind, still pretty rare!) I also love the outdoors, warmth and sunshine, so sun-kissed hair and sun-kissed skin just looks so healthy and gorgeous to me!

I have a septum piercing myself (although I need to get it re-done because it is really wonky…,) and I really think they make anyone’s face who has one look 50x more cute and adorable – especially when they use ring style jewellery.

Finally, the makeup. I personally only wear foundation and face powder, fill in my brows and will sometimes enjoy wearing a lip tint/mauvey nude lipstick/lip balm on my lips, and will also sometimes curl my lashes. Honestly, heavier makeup just doesn’t look nice on me! I think a natural, feature-enhancing look is much more pretty on me, like what this girl has on here. I don’t like hiding my natural face with makeup!

Sorry for writing so much, but this girl’s aesthetic is probably my favourite out of the four!

2. 964d9d191fc0e54abaaecdbee42f82cc (1)

Next up is this beauty! Now, I’m a girl with a fringe, who wears glasses and with a septum piercing. Trust me when I say this – having this combination of things on your face is REALLY difficult to pull off! It’s just a whole lot going on. If your fringe is too short, it just looks a bit weird, if your fringe is too long, they touch your glasses and then your entire face looks overwhelmed with STUFF. If your glasses just don’t suit you, you’re going to look less attractive with them on (and it’s quite difficult to get glasses that both look nice with your actual face AND with your bangs…) If your septum piercing jewellery is too chunky, then with the added bangs and glasses, your face is just going to look super overcrowded but if the jewellery is too dainty, it will just be overseen because of everything else going on on your face! BALANCE with these 3 features is really difficult to achieve, trust me!

Now, in my humble opinion, this girl pulls off all 3 seemingly effortlessly. She looks absolutely gorgeous, and has made everything work so well together! I aspire to make my fringe/glasses/septum piercing combo look as good as hers does.

3. fcb740e68e5e00701c09023108776a23--curly-bangs-curly-hair-styles

Sorry for the small picture, it’s all I could find! I believe this girl is a model, because I seem to remember finding out who she was once before… Anyways, again, this girl is such a beaut! JUST LOOK AT THAT HAIR!!! Ugh, what I’d do to have naturally curly hair, or at least wavy… Not to say that hers is natural but, y’know, it looks natural enough 🙂 I love this girl’s hair to death, I want to STEAL IT for myself! It just looks so cute and so much more interesting than straight hair in my opinion. There’s just so much more going on with curly hair! Her hair is also a fairly similar colour to my own, only mine is a bit more of a saturated colour, which makes me envy her hair even more because I can totally imagine what it would have been like if I were born with curlier hair… This girl is just so gorgeous, I’d feel pretty intimidated to be in the same room as someone so pretty :O I WISH I HAD CURLY/WAVY HAIR!

4. da75a76a4029fa75d8a828bce0e76b5e--boho-fashion-fashion-hair.jpg

Last but not least is this lovely lady. Okay, I know, I obsess about hair more than any other physical feature in someone’s appearance. BUT LOOK AT HER HAIR!!! Her hair is just so glorious. It’s beautiful and long, looks so natural and sun-kissed (or at least I can imagine it is naturally sun-kissed rather than balayage highlights added to it,) and has a beautiful, beachy wavy and texture to it. I love this hair so much, it’s like… Goals… Add in some bangs and make it a bit more curly and we have my absolute dream hair!

Okay, and we’re done! I think it’s important to appreciate our fellow ladies for their beauty, and it’s totally okay to draw inspiration from other people.

Lush Daddy-O Shampoo Review

Daddy-O Shampoo (100g):

Rating: 2/5*

Cons:

I found that I’d lose quite a bit of hair in the shower after using this shampoo… This is something I have found with a few of Lush’s shampoos (such as Cynthia Sylvia Stout,) so I know this wasn’t just a flukey thing! Maybe it is the SLS in the product, or perhaps it is just too drying on my hair. Either way, this was obviously definitely a con for me!

Daddy-O was difficult to lather up. I’d squirt a bit of shampoo into my hand and attempt to lather it into my hair, with little success. I’d have to repeat this process a few times before my hair felt like I had used enough shampoo to actually thoroughly clean it. I’d end up using probably around 4 squirts of shampoo on average to clean my hair properly – it would really depend on how many days I went without washing my hair! Anyway, this process could be quite time consuming and irritating!

I didn’t REALLY notice much of a change in the colour of my hair or anything. Maybe a slight change, but definitely not a massive one! (This shampoo is supposed to reduce brassy tones in blonde hair and make the hair appear brighter and lighter.)

I’d always need to both condition my hair AND apply R&B Hair Moisturiser after using Daddy-O, because it just wasn’t very nourishing!

The scent of Daddy-O is very sweet and quite a natural sort of scent – definitely not everyone’s cup of tea!

Pros:

This is a purple shampoo, some some people with very light hair may find that it helps to fend away those brassy tones!

This shampoo physically looks gorgeous! It is a gorgeous, deep, extremely pigmented purple colour, and has a metallic sheen to it.

I think the name of this shampoo is quite sweet!

This shampoo lasted me and my partner quite a long time. I received this shampoo on 1st February, and although I didn’t start using it right away, I did start using it not too long after receiving it. I used up the last bit of this shampoo on Sunday 8th May, which means it lasted both me and my partner around 3 months. Considering it was only a little 100g bottle of shampoo, I think this is pretty damn good!

This shampoo smells really good. It smells clean, fresh, and like Parma Violet sweets. It also has this very green undertone to it – almost a very pleasant woodsy, grassy scent. This undertone becomes much more prominent while using the shampoo in the shower, and I think is an aspect of the scent of this shower gel that is very special and unique! I LOVE the scent of Daddy-O shampoo!

This is one of Lush’s vegan shampoos, so you know you aren’t adding to the harm of any animals by using it 🙂

Although I didn’t notice much of a change in the colour of my hair or anything, I did notice that my hair did seem to be very SLIGHTLY lighter in general.

This being a Lush shampoo means it is pretty much all natural, and the ingredients are quite good for your hair!

Daddy-O definitely cleaned my hair very thoroughly!

After using Daddy-O, my hair would usually feel quite soft.

This shampoo really increased the volume of my hair! My hair always would feel rather thick compared to usual after having used this shampoo.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I wanted to love this shampoo – I really did! When it comes to a shampoo causing me to lose more hair than I usually would in the shower though, well, that’s a huge no-no. I’m not exactly what caused this – it isn’t something I found with most of the shampoos I have used from Lush, only a few of them. I think it could possibly be due to the shampoo not going very far once in the hair. This being the case has a knock on effect – it means I have to spend a lot of time to repeatedly add more product to my hair and trying to lather up. Perhaps this increased amount of time having SLS in contact with my roots caused some of my hair to fall out! Also, perhaps all the extra lathering I needed to do caused my hair to become a little tangled, and maybe some hair came out that way.

Overall, I’m afraid I’m going to give Daddy-O a rating of 2/5*. I’m giving it this rating because overall, using the product was a negative experience. Maybe continuously finding little locks of hair in the bath tub would be a good thing for some people who really want their hair thinned out, but I have extremely thin hair, so this was absolutely terrifying for me! I also don’t think it’s a very healthy thing to be happening in general… I would comb my hair very thoroughly with a fine toothed comb beforehand, so there would be no way that they were simply loose hairs/hairs that had already detached themselves from my head.

It is a real shame, because I really enjoyed so much about this shampoo! Ah well, until next time!

Lush Blackberry Bath Bomb Bath Bomb Review

Okay, so it might be confusing that I have “Bath Bomb Bath Bomb” in the title for this review, but that’s because the bath bomb’s full name is actually “Blackberry Bath Bomb”, and the product itself IS a Bath Bomb. In my reviews I always write out the product’s full name as well as the type of product that it is, so… Just bear with the weird title of this one!

My partner bought me the lovely Happy Bathday gift set from Lush for my birthday back in October. I only just used this bath bomb from that gift set, here is my review for it!

Blackberry Bath Bomb Bath Bomb:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

This bath bomb is pretty much a case of what you see is what you get. It is purple, and turns the bath water a shade of purple. It smells exactly how it smells once in the bath. There isn’t that much more to this bath bomb so if you expecting something really interesting to happen with this one then well, don’t. What you see is what you get!

The bath water wasn’t all thaaaaaaaaaaat moisturising. It was moisturising, but just not THAT much so.

The bath water left behind from this bath bomb isn’t very… opaque at all. There isn’t much bath art left on the water after the bomb has finished fizzing and the water is left almost transparent. Imagine using a purple filter on normal bath water, that’s what it is like. Literally just purple bath water!

Once my bath bomb had basically finished fizzing, there was this one glob of magenta dye still sort of… dispersing throughout the water. I’m a perfectionist so I absolutely MUST wait until the bath bomb has stopped moving entirely and has completely finished doing its thing, so this one little glob of dye taking like… 5 extra minutes to finish dispersing through the water… was a bit irritating!

Pros:

The smell is absolutely gorgeous. It has a rich, fruity, refreshing blackberry scent, but it also has a slight spiciness to it. It is just absolutely gorgeous. I love it SO much!!! It is also a sweet scent and wow, I just love it.

The colour of the bath bomb and the colour that it leaves the bathwater is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colour purple, so this one is right down my alley as they say. SO PRETTY!!!

The scent from this bath bomb lingered in my hair for a little while which was really, really nice!

The bath water was somewhat moisturising. Not massively so, but it was still nice!

This made a lovely gift and I am so happy I received this from my partner for my Birthday 🙂 This would make a lovely gift for pretty much anyone I should think!

This is obviously a Lush product, it is vegan, cruelty free, handmade etc etc… A fantastic product that is definitely worth a try at LEAST once!

I actually really liked the bath water being sort of see-through. I get kinda creeped out when the water is quite opaque, because it allows my imagination to go nuts and think that there might be a shark in the water… or that the water could be far deeper than I think it is etc… This probably sounds really weird to most of you, but I am really, really scared of sharks and of deep water! If you are too then a bath bomb like this is really nice!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this is such a nice bath bomb, and I just can’t get over its scent!!! I absolutely adore the colour it turns my bath water too… I think I love just about everything about this bath bomb. It COULD be improved, but not much honestly. I’d personally prefer it if this bomb had a liiiiiittle more oomph to it, but it is really lovely!

I’m going to have to rate this bath bomb a solid 5/5*!!! It could be improved, but almost no product can’t be, right? The colour and THE SCENT!!! I just LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH!

Until next time!

Lush Old Father Time Hand And Body Soap Review

This isn’t a soap I got recently – in fact, I picked it up in the Boxing Day sale back in 2015! I finally used my piece all up, and here is my review for it 🙂

Old Father Time Hand And Body Soap:

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This soap doesn’t have a sweet smell to it. In fact, the scent reminds me almost of… dust? It has a dusty, old book, tree, woodsy, incencey sort of scent to it – if that makes any sense at all! It is a very difficult scent to describe… it sort of smells like a nice smelling hippie’s den haha! Anyway, it isn’t a sweet smell in the slightest really, so if you don’t like more earthy, smokey scents, this one isn’t going to be for you at all!

The lather of this soap is, well, a murky brown-orange-red colour. This isn’t a massive deal, but it does take a bit of getting used to. It definitely does make the soap messier than some of the others that I’ve used, because it really is so pigmented. I know this soap will definitely be too messy for some!

Another problem with the colour of the lather, and of the soap overall, is that it looks almost gorey to me. It is a deep maroon colour, and honestly, when the soap is sitting in its soap dish with browny red coloured soap water dripping down the sides of the sink… I dunno, maybe I’m really weird, but nonetheless I found the appearance of this soap quite creepy – almost like having a chunk of liver in my soap dish!

This was a Christmas Exclusive soap in 2015 – and didn’t even return for 2016! If you happen to really enjoy this soap, you could very well find that you have a difficult time trying to stock up on the stuff I’m afraid!

The scent of Old Father Time definitely fades over time. The scent of my piece of this soap was much milder toward the end of its days. The scent remaining was more of a general soap scent, with just a slight hint of its original scent still present.

Pros:

The design of this soap is SO GORGEOUS! This soap has golden cogs going through it and wow, it is just absolutely stunning. The orangey-golden cogs are absolutely full of lustre and are more creamy and soft than the rest of the soap. Extremely lovely to use!

This soap overall was surprisingly moisturising. I don’t know why, but when I first received this soap I assumed it wouldn’t be very moisturing at all, but it really was. Perhaps not quite AS moisturising as some other soaps but it was pretty damn good! Definitely not a drying soap at least.

The scent is definitely one that both all genders can enjoy. My partner loved this soap and I think it was quite a nice one too. When I asked him if there was anything he would want to add to my review of the soap, he said: “I like how it got softer the more you worked it. I like how creamy it was. It was really nice!” 🙂

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, this soap was mostly a pleasure to use. It was definitely a fun experience, it is very different to any other Lush soap I have used thus far!

I am going to rate Old Father Time a 4/5* rating. Honestly, it reminding me of a chunk of liver or… something… really put me off! I would have given it less stars, but how much my partner enjoyed it sort of nudged it up somewhat!

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb Review

img_2452-2

Intergalactic Bath Bomb

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

The glitter from this bath bomb won’t go straight down the plug hole once you have drained the bath water, so the bath needs to be rinsed after using it.

The scent isn’t very strong.

I don’t know if this is the same for all Intergalactic bath bombs, but mine was very soft – holding it would leave tons of power on on my fingers and little indents in the bath bomb. It is very delicate!

Because of the peppermint, the water sort of feels colder than it actually is. This meant me having to add a lot more hot water to my bath once I got in, until the bath was very full!

After bathing with this bath bomb, I did have to rinse myself off in the shower quickly afterwards to get any leftover residue out of my hair and off my skin.

This bath bomb didn’t do that much for my skin in terms of moisturising.

Pros:

The peppermint in this bath bomb makes your skin feel extra clean.

THIS BATH BOMB WILL MAKE YOUR BATH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THE WORLD WOW! The glitter… the colours… just… wow…

IMG_2454 (2).JPG

The scent is lovely! It is a sweet, musky peppermint, and is really refreshing. I’m sure it would be brilliant to use when you have a cold, to help with feeling congested.

My mother got me this as part of my birthday present, and wow, what an incredible gift! I would highly recommend giving this to someone as a gift.

The glitter stays on your skin a little bit after you get out the bath.

The display that this bath bomb gives… At first, the bath bomb realeased a cloud of inky blue colourant, that slowly spreads through the entire bath. The bath bomb then begins to release glitter and a beautiful rainbow of colours, all whilst spinning elegantly. Absolutely beautiful!

IMG_2466 (2).JPG

The fizzing time of this bath bomb was medium – long enough to really enjoy the show, but fast enough to not become too impatient or bored whilst watching. Ideal!

The name, the theme… Who doesn’t love Astronomy?

IMG_2475 (2).JPG

BEAUTIFUL!!!

AMAZING!!!

VEGAN, FROM LUSH, CRUELTY FREE, ETHICALLY SOURCED INGREDIENTS… HANDMADE…

My hair felt really soft after washing my hair in this bath!

Overall Conclusion:

IMG_2472 (2).JPG

Wow. Just wow. I did not expect to love this bath bomb as much as I did. It was just such an incredible experience, using this bath bomb.

I have to rate this bath bomb a 5/5*, without a doubt. The only negative thing about this bath bomb really was having to add in extra hot water to the bath, but I’m sure in the future I could just learn how much hot water this minty bath bomb requires.

Overall, I absolutely loved it!
