Summer Would You Rather Tag.

Tagged by Karalee at Tales of Belle.

Would you rather…

  • Live in a tree house or a castle?
I would much prefer to live in a tree house! I love nature, so living in the trees in some epic forest sounds pretty awesome. Castles are overrated!
  • Be able to sing beautifully or dance beautifully?
I’d much prefer to be able to dance beautifully. I absolutely LOVE dance!
  • Ride a horse or a camel?
I’d love to ride a camel. Something new.
  • Know a fairy or a unicorn?
I’d way prefer to know a fairy. Again, unicorns are overrated guys! What’s all the hype over unicorns these days?! When I was a kid, I used to pretend to my best friend that I had a secret fairy – my own personal fairy that nobody else knew about. Would be so cool if that came true!
  • Have a backyard that was a huge bounce house or a huge ball pit?
I’m pretty lazy, so I’m going to go with the ball pit (as long as it wasn’t an insanely deep one obviously.) It sounds fun to just sort of lay back and chill out in a ball pit, under the nice lovely sunshine.
  • Travel or stay home?
TRAVEL! TRAVEL! TRAVEL! Although I LOVE home, I just HAVE TO see the world! Travel!
  • Be able to fly or be able to breathe under water?
Fly. Terrified of the sea honestly – I wish I wasn’t, but, sharks. And drowning. And being alone in the middle of the ocean. Many nopes. Also, I’ve always wished I were a bird. Birds are almost limitless in terms of where they can go – at least the ones that fly are. They can fly around, walk on land and many can bop around on the water and eat fish. Lucky things!
  • Know where you’re going or have it be a surprise?
I don’t really know. I like the idea of things being a surprise, but… I think if it’s something small, I prefer it to be a surprise. If it is something big and important to me, I’d much rather know about it!
  • Be on a boat or on an airplane?
Boats are fun but scary, airplanes are fun but scary. The upside with planes though is that you get to see all the water AND all the land below you, all in one big go! Pretty amazing!
  • Be able to see in the dark or be able to never get tired?
Well, I do love my sleep. Seeing in the dark sounds sort of creepy though. I have a fear of the dark (or rather, what might be in the dark,) and I’m not sure I really want to find out what it is that I haven’t been seeing up until now! But, I love my sleep! I’d choose neither – if I had to choose then I’d choose to never get tired – get to be more productive that way!
  • Go on a vacation to the beach or to the mountains?
Somewhere with mountains and beaches in close proximity 😛 Okay, well I generally would prefer to go to the beach. I love the coast – gives me a sense of freedom 🙂
  • Have picnics in the forest or in the park?
If there were several people in the forest, then the forest. I’d find it fairly creepy if me and my partner were just sat in the middle of an empty forest. Otherwise, the park!
  • Swim in the ocean or swim in a pool?
Prefer the ocean, although I am also scared of the ocean. But I still prefer it to a pool!
  • Be a dolphin or a cheetah?
Cheetah. Fuck living in the sea.
  • Be able to make people laugh or be able to make people trust you?
Make people laugh. The people who don’t trust me are the people who I don’t really want in my life, so I’d rather be able to make the people who I love and am happy to have in my life, laugh!
  • Be surprised by a present or be able to pick what you get?
Ooh, tough one. I love surprises, but at the same time, I know what I want! I think I’d prefer to give a general idea of what it is that I want, and then the present-buyer person to pick the specifics. E.g, if I really wanted some new Lush, I’d be happy to give my wishlist to anyone who wanted to give me a gift for my Birthday, and then they pick what it is from the wishlist that they want to get me!
  • Eat popsicles or watermelon?
Watermelon! Natural wins over artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavourings…
  • Go camping or stay in a hotel?
Okay, so camping sounds a lot of fun, and is something I did A LOT as a kid. I haven’t been camping anytime recently though, so I’ve sort of become attached to the luxuries of a hotel – a lovely private shower and bathroom, lots of private space… I’m going to say a hotel in general, but, I would love to go camping every now and then!
  • Do art or read?
    Art 🙂
  • Experience an epic waterslide or an epic zip line?
Ooh, see, I did an epic zip line recently over some chasm thing. It was really cool! I’m going to go ahead and say a waterslide, just because I haven’t done much like it recently (plus it sounds REALLY fun!)

I nominate whoever feels like doing this tag!

90 Days of Summer left!

I wrote a blog post sort-of-recently saying how I had a full 137 days of Summer. I know, I’m very lucky!

A little bit of time has passed, and I now have 90 full days of Summer left. Here are some of the delightful ways I have spent my Summer so far…:

  1. Pampering myself! One of the first things I did with my time off was give myself a manicure. When you have spent so much of your time dedicated to a course or something as time consuming as one, you rarely have time to just treat yourself, make you feel good about yourself. Toward the end of my course, it got to the point where I would feel far too guilty to do my nails – I’d just feel like I should be studying instead!
  2. Using my Lush products. Another thing I just didn’t have enough time to do often whilst on my course was to use my Lush products. I have been using them much more during my Summer, and on one day I even went through a very extensive bath routine – consisting of every Lush product type that I own! It was

    A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Again, pampering yourself is something that is easily to neglect when you’re so busy! It is important to treat yourself though – sometimes some relaxation and a boost in confidence is just what you need to be able to be more productive in your work anyway!

  3. Post Lush reviews onto my blog! Throughout April, I hardly posted at all because I was just far too busy studying. I still used Lush products every now and then, so not posting on my blog meant the amount of reviews I needed to write really started to pile up! I do currently have a couple of reviews to write, but knowing I’m allowed to provide myself the time to write those reviews is so lovely!
  4. Catch up on doing the laundry! I live with my partner, and all the laundry is my responsibility. You wouldn’t think that two people’s washing would pile up quickly, but it really does. With being so busy, I really neglected to keep up with the washing, so I spent a good couple of days loading, unloading, hanging up and putting away mine and my partner’s laundry! It’s so nice to look into our wardrobe and drawers to find tons of outfit options!
  5. Present shopping! I love treating my partner, and it was his Birthday on May 20th! Normally I’d just find something quick to get him, because around then I’d usually have exams. Having this time off meant I could really go the extra mile and spend a good amount of time to really pick out some thoughtful gifts and to plan a really nice day for him! It’s sad how a course or work can really take away from your personal life, and it was really nice to be able to invest the time into my partner’s Birthday that he deserved.
  6. Writing in my blog in general! I haven’t posted that much this month, but having the freedom to whenever I’d like to is really lovely!
  7. Taking LOTS of baths! Nothing makes me feel more clean and refreshed than taking a good old bath. Whilst on my course, I could only really find the time to take showers! It’s nice to be able to pick out a bath bomb and enjoy a good soak whenever I’d like to feel super refreshed!
  8. Shopping! I haven’t been shopping for clothes or anything like that – more like useful household items. Me and my partner moved into our first flat just last October, which was after the start of my course. Neither of us really found the time to invest into putting the finishing touches to our home. During my Summer so far, I’ve bought loads of little bits and bobs for our home – some plants, lighting for our garden, planters, kitchen items, paint, decorating tools etc.
  9. Spending an entire day, undisturbed, to celebrate my partner’s Birthday! We didn’t end up actually going out for his Birthday in the end as he just wanted to stay in, but it was nice to not feel the pressure to study at all!
  10. A massive Summer clean-out! We brought a LOT of junk to our flat, and haven’t really had the time to go through it at all. We still have a lot of junk left, but I did manage to fill up 4 – yes, FOUR bin liners FULL of clothes that I no longer wear or want or that no longer fit, and am currently in the process of selling them! We also still hadn’t fully unpacked, and had a lot of containers lying around. I found places to put them all and gave all our floors a really thorough clean.

I now have a list for what is allowed on the floors of each of our rooms to keep the floor clear! I also bought a new vacuum cleaner and tons of cleaning products, so that we can easily keep our flat nice and fresh. I even got rid of all the leaves we had piled up in our garden from last Autumn!

This clean out took quite a while, especially our bedroom as that room had sort of become our dumping ground for any junk that we couldn’t find a place for. It’s nice that it is done now though! So much more space!

We also now have a little white board in our kitchen, where we keep a tally of how many items we bring in and take out of the home. The aim is to bring in as little as possible, and to take out as much as possible! It’s to help motivate us to let go of some of our old things, so that we can live a more simple and clutter-free life.

  11. Giving myself facials. I know I’ve already mentioned Lush products a lot, but this is specifically for Lush’s facial products. When I neglect my fact, it quickly becomes pretty nasty. I was still washing and moisurising it everyday while on my course, but that was pretty much all I had time to do! I’ve been able to use face masks, facial scrubs, my serum bar, spot treatments, lip scrubs, toners – the WORKS! It really helps to boost my confidence when I feel like my skin is looking its best!
  12. Finances. Boring, I know. Me and my partner have a system where we pay for anything that we both use, by ratio of our incomes. So any rent, bills, groceries and household items we will pay using this ratio.

We’re really not very organised with this! We usually just sort of pay eachother what we owe around once a month or so by looking through our bank statements and working it all out.

Well, toward the end of my course, we just sort of neglected to do this at all. We probably left it for around 3 months! Working out how much you owe someone used THREE MONTHS worth of bank statements really takes a while – but it was something we needed to do!

I feel so much better now that we’ve sorted this out. It is nice to know how much money I ACTUALLY have!

That’s about it! It probably all sounds really, really boring – but trust me, you’d be surprised with the things that you really want to have enough time to be able to do, after spending so much time not really being able to do anything besides following a course schedule!

And yes, most of these things are small, and really didn’t need to take up a full 47 days. I’ve been relaxing and sleeping a lot to regain some energy! The clear-out and deep cleaning really did take a long time though.

I’ve just been on focusing on achieving one thing that I choose to do at a time. The thing I’m focusing on right now is booking flights! I intend to visit my family up in Scotland soon, would like to go travel to Spain for a couple of weeks and possibly have a couple more flights to book on top of that!

With my 90 days left, I hope to spend some time on how I look. I’d like to revamp my wardrobe so that I have a more up-to-date look, take the leap and get my first tattoo, maybe get a few piercings and to experiment around with makeup and with my hair!

I’d also like to become healthier. I’m working on my weight loss, and wouldn’t mind beginning to jog routinely too – and to maintain a daily skin care routine!

I’d love to get a job! An actual reliable, paying job.

I’d also love to volunteer and to gain some new skills – I’ve been thinking about volunteering at our local cat shelter or something! I’d also really like to start learning Spanish, programming and I’d like to invest more time in reading educational books, online courses and educational videos!

I’d like to pick up some hobbies – maybe buy a camera and start taking photos and videos. Maybe even start an Instagram account! I’d also really like to begin learning an instrument 🙂

Oh, and I’d like to adopt a kitty.

And to go on lots of adventures with Richard.

Yep, I’m a dreamer – I know the chances of me achieving all of that in 90 days is low, considering what I’ve achieved in 47 days! It is possible though, and I’d be damned if I don’t try!

Lush Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar Review

Yes, I know. This was a Halloween product for last year, and it is now spring of the following year. I know this review is late. I know I took a long time to use up this product. I know, I know. But hey, at least I used it up, right? Hopefully this review will help someone out when next Halloween range comes about!

I received this as part of a lovely, incredibly gift from my partner on Halloween. I hope you enjoy this review!

Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar:

Rating: 4/5*

IMG_3988 (2)

Cons:

This is a Halloween exclusive product, so if you find that you love it, you might have a lot of trouble repurchasing it! It might not even come back next Halloween…

This bubble bar is GLITTERY. When you hold the bubble bar, you will 100% be left with golden lustre on your fingers. When you put the bubble bar down, the surface it has been placed on will 100% have golden lustre on it afterwards. If you’re really not a fan of glitter, stay away!

The scent of this product is quite smokey , woodsy, spicy, dry and musky. If those aren’t the sort of scents you are into then again, steer away from this guy!

The cinnamon stick sticking out the top of this bubble bar will be left in your bath tub. I forgot that this cinnamon stick was left in my bath tub, so I just pulled the plug out at the end of my bath as per usual, and that was that. Once I remembered about the cinnamon stick later on, I looked in the tub, only to find that the stick had… disappeared… I think it went straight down the plug hole. I really highly doubt this did my drain any good whatsoever! Be careful!

I didn’t find there to be too much pigmentation to this bubble bar – although that could be due to getting 3 uses out of it.

Pros:

I got three baths out of this guy. Yep, 3. And easily at that – if I had any less baths with this bubble bar then I would have felt as though I was being wasteful! This bubble bar produces bubbles SO EASILY!!! Each of my 3 baths with this bubble bar were covered in a thick layer of bubbles. Here are images of each bath:

Bath 1 (bath product, bath before turning on jets, bath after turning on jets:)

Bath 2 (bath product, bath before turning on jets, bath after turning on jets:)

Bath 3 (bath before turning on jets, bath after turning on jets:)

The bubbles this bubble bar creates are incredibly creamy and frothy.

A bath with this bubble bar is extremely warming and cozy.

The concept of this bubble bar is brilliant. It truly looks like a miniature pumpkin covered in golden glitter!

I really enjoyed the scent of this bubble bar. Zesty yet spicy – very up my alley!

I found this bubble bar to definitely be somewhat moisturising. Not extremely so, but somewhat for sure.

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, I think this was a lovely bubble bar, I seriously do. I think it could do with more pigmentation, with being more moisturising and with having a slightly better scent, but it really was rather lovely!

I’m going to rate this guy a 4/5* rating. It was absolutely brilliant, but I still feel I can find a better bubble bar out there that will absolutely blow my socks off!

I hope you enjoyed my review! 🙂

My plans for the holidays.

Summer time is the perfect time to get things done. The weather is warm, the sun it out and there is plenty of free time to do all those little things that you’ve been nagging yourself to do. There are so many things that I personally would like to sort out during the holidays!

One thing that has been on my mind a lot recently is my health. That’s not to say that I’m in a bad way, my health just needs a little maintenance! I am super unfit and get tired just walking up a flight of stairs, and I keep noticing new wobbly bits on me that weren’t there before. I would like to lose ~7lbs of weight, to begin eating healthier and I’d like to start going swimming for a few hours every week to help myself become fitter. I believe that a healthy body makes a healthy mind, so I’m hoping that the healthier eating and exercise will help with keeping me cheerful and with alleviating stress too!

I’d like to sort out moving out soon too – and I need to find a college for me to begin attending this year with the courses that I want to take. I’d like to take physics and mathematics  as intensive A levels, so that I can work hard to get better at physics before heading back to university.

I am also going to find myself a job so that I can support myself over the course of the next year. I’ve quite liked working from home doing freelance jobs in the past, so I will probably try that first.

Last but not least, I’m going to be driven through several European countries in the space of around a week which will be really exciting! I love travelling. 🙂 I’m not 100% sure which countries we will be driving through yet but it will be at least 6 different countries!

What I got for Christmas.

Hello! 🙂

I still have loads of new things that I’ve received over the past couple of months, but today’s blog post is all about Christmas presents! I am so grateful for all I have received and this is not me boasting in any way. I am very aware that many people do not receive any presents nor have the ability to give any. I’m just innocently excited and want to show what I’ve got!

So! First up, I got a beautiful purple cover for my iPad mini. It is from the brand ‘belkin’ and comes with a built in stand. I’m so happy about this gift from my lovely boyfriend because I’ve been wanting a stand and a cover for my iPad for a while,  so that I can use my iPad in bed more easily and so that I wont be too scared to take it into classes with me! I feel as though the iPad mini is too fragile for me to be willing to carry it around with me without some protective casing on it.

Here is a photo of my iPad mini cover:

Other features of this iPad mini cover includes a cut-out hole for the camera and an elasticated binder to keep the case on the iPad securely when it isn’t in use.

The next item I got is a ‘Power Bank’. It is an external, portable battery for smartphones/iPads that holds a full charge. To use it, you use the cable provided to charge it up and once charged, you use your phone/iPad cable to connect the Power Bank to your device. This should definitely come in handy!

Here is a photo of it:

Next up is a ‘Mini Buddy Portable Speaker’ by ‘Kitsound’. It is a cute pink winking owl design with colourful hearts on it’s front. The cable for it is quite small so it is meant to stay close to your device. It also has a keyring attached to it, so you could carry it on your keys. It works pretty well!

Here is a photo of it:

(I added an enhancement to this photo to more accurately show the item’s colour.) Isn’t it adorable?!

Okay, so next up is a recipe book which was a gift from one of my friends. It is a vegan recipe book, because I am a vegan! I was actually brought up vegetarian, and went on to being a vegan when I was around 13 years old. It is called ‘easy vegan, simple recipes for healthy eating’. The recipes in this book look so clean, fresh, healthy and delicious! I will definitely get some good usage out of this book when I’m back to Uni.

Here is a photo of the recipe book:

(I have again enhanced this photo and cropped it to better show the item in the photo. I will continue to do this for all photos).

The next item is ‘Beyonce Heat eau de parfum vaporisateur natural spray’. It is the 100ml version of the spray. I love perfumes/sprays/any scents that smell good that I can use on myself! I love to smell clean and I think that most scents are perfect at doing just that. This perfume comes in an ombre red and clear bottle in an upside-down prism shape. It has quite a strong scent that is very fruity and sweet. I’m not very good at explaining scents so this will sound peculiar, but it sort of smells…fizzy… It literally smells like a delicious, fizzy, warm, berry flavoured drink haha! I think it smells lovely and was a gift from my man. 🙂

Here is a photo of the perfume:

Next is my new coat. I had seen this coat in a popular high street store and fell in love with how adorable it looked. The only reason whyI hadn’t bought it was because I had spent quite a bit at the time on gifts for others, and because I felt as though I wasn’t allowed to almost? Because I had only just gotten a beautiful new coat a few weeks before!  It is made from a thick, fluffy material and has a pastel pink and pastel grey tartan design. It is in the style of a duffle coat in the sense that it is done up using poppers and toggles. This coat has been made extremely well! Mine is in a size 10.

Here is a photo of the beautiful coat (also from my lovely boyfriend!):

The next item is a cute little notebook. It is a little A6 notebook with lined paper (with rounded corners), a ribbon bookmark and an elastic binder. The cover of the notebook is made of a black, thick, sort of spongey plastic. It’s in the colour black. This is a really lovely little notebook!

Here is a photo of it:

I also got a couple of pens that I will quickly show.

Here is a photo of the pens:

That’s just about everything! Bye bye!

My Christmas break. :)

So, I have a while off from Uni for Christmas – 33 more days in fact! I actually began my break 4 days ago, and I’ve spent those days resting as I’ve caught a bug. 😦

I plan to spend my break mostly studying all the material we have covered in our course so far, so that I can be confident on it all before the next teaching term begins. I’ve also got quite a bit of Christmas shopping that I need to get done very soon! I think I’ll have to make tomorrow be my shopping day. I’m in urgent need of buying some Christmas presents, buying some study supplies and of getting some fresh air! Besides, there’s nothing like a good shopping spree to help myself recover from feeling unwell. 😉

I’ve actually been super cheeky and over the past six weeks or so I’ve treated myself to quite a few new items. I will make a separate post detailing those items at a later time.
