Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar Review

The Comforter Bubble Bar

thecomforter

Rating: 4/5

Cons:

This bubble bar is really soapy! There is no way I could have a bath using The Comforter and not have to rinse off in the shower afterwords.

You can get 2+ uses out of this bubble bar, but the second time I bathed with it the novelty of it has already sort of worn off (I had the leftovers from the first bath lying around the house for weeks,) so I just sort of… used up all the rest in the second bath…

I didn’t find this bubble bar to be that fun of a product compared to many of Lush’s others if I’m honest!

Pros:

This smells lovely! Like blackcurrent sherbet sweets ๐Ÿ™‚

This bubble bar creates an insaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee amount of bubbles!!! (The first image below is the result before turning on bath jets, the second image is the result after turning on bath jets.)

The colour that The Comforter turns the bath water is an incredibly gorgeous pale magenta colour – similar to slightly paler version of the colour of Calpol!

Everything about this bubble bar screams girly. It is perfect for a night in where you just want to celebrate being the princess that all girls know they are inside! It is pink, looks like some sort of pudding, and creates a fluffy pink sweet and fruity scented bath – what more could a girl need to relax?!

The design of this bubble bar is beautiful. It is made up of a swirl of creamy white and a swirl of beautiful magenta – both incredibly pigmented!

This is a Lush product and is vegan – in my opinion, those pros alone make this bubble bar worth a shot!

This bath was slightly moisturising, which although not incredible, it definitely wasn’t a bad thing.

Overall conclusion:

Overall, this was a vert cute bubble bar, and was one that I did really enjoy. It wasn’t as exciting as bath bath bombs are, but it was still really lovely. There honestly isn’t that much to say about this product – it is nice and girly, smells like blackcurrents and leaves your bath pink and very bubbly.

Overall, I give The Comforter Bubble Bar a rating of 4/5* (I’m feeling generous today.) It gave me a nice, uber bubbly and uber girly bath – nothing more or less than that really!

10 Question WordPress Tag

How long have you been blogging on WordPress?ย It will have been 2 years on the 15th December ๐Ÿ™‚

How many blog posts are there on your blog?ย 64! ๐Ÿ™‚

What was your favourite post to write?ย I’m not sure because I really have so many posts… I’m going to say my Leaving University post. Writing that post was just a massive weight off of my shoulders andย helped me to stop worrying about the whole thing. It was also a massive decision for me to make and one that I am very glad about. That post signifies to me the end of a horrid period of time and the start of a much, much better one!

Who’s your favourite blogger?ย I don’t follow any huge bloggers, but I have been really enjoying reading glittersandmayhem’s blog posts (Glitters and Mayhem). Her posts are very sincere, genuine and down to Earth. I also like the types of things she posts about – I like that her blog isn’t just a beauty blog, but also a travel blog, fashion blog, lifestyle blog… Many of my favourite topics all rolled up into one lovely blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Who would you like to collaborate with?ย Um… again, I’m not really a popular blogger and honestly, the idea of collaborating with someone for a blog post sounds rather boring!

Where do you see your blog in the future?ย I haven’t thought of the future of my blog much to be honest! I guess I see it ultimately just… gaining some popularity? I never see it being a major blog, and I don’t think I would like it if it did! I don’t intend to ever stop blogging though – I sort of think of it as my online journal.

What quote or saying do you live by?ย Um… I guess that you only have one life so never stop working hard toward your dreams! That isn’t an actual quote, so I guess something like “If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it.”

Why did you start blogging?ย Because I did not want to be bored over Christmas the year I started my blog, and because I did want to have a platform where I could express myself!

What challenges have you faced so far?ย So far, my biggest challenge with blogging has been… I haven’t really had challenges… I guess maybe my biggest challenge so far has been balancing my content? My blog posts now are mostly Lush reviews, and although I don’t want the amount that I post about Lush to be lessened, I wouldn’t mind the amount that I post about my education / life / plans / travel etc to grow, so that the distributions are fairly even.

What are your inspirations for blog posts?ย Let me thing. What has inspired me to write my blog posts? I think the main source of my inspiration has to be YouTube. I first started watching Lush reviews on youtube, I watch YouTubers talking about their lives and well, I don’t know. A YouTube channel for a YouTuber is like a journal of their life a lot of the time, and I guess that idea really appealed to me (minus the being in videos part!) There are’t any specific YouTubers, just YouTube in general ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I tag all my followers, give it a go! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Rating: 4/5*

Cons:

This tastes SO sweet. Like, really far too sweet for my tastebuds! If you do not basically like the taste of sugar by itself, don’t try this lip scrub – it is literally that sweet of a taste.

The colour is a peachy pink and is quite feminine, meaning some males might not feel as comfortable using this product.

Sometimes I’d have to use quite a bit of this lip scrub to actually exfoliate my lips fully. I’d have to keep going into my little pot of lip scrub for more product!

It doesn’t just taste sweet, but it smells super sweet too. Avoid if you hate the smell of candy!

I didn’t find that this lip scrub actually worked quite as well as some others I have tried from Lush. Sometimes after scrubbing thoroughly, I’d still find bits of dead skin on my lips.

Pros:

The colour, in my personal opinion, is adorable! So, so cute! Perfect and girly ๐Ÿ™‚

Although it is EXTREMELY sweet, the general smell of this lip scrub is quite nice. It smells exactly like pear drop sweets that my mother used to buy when I was a kid. Delicious!

This lip scrub does work – not perfectly, but it does still work fairly well.

Buying this lip scrub saves you the trouble of making your own!

This is a vegan Lush product that is cruelty free. Just those reasons alone were enough to make me give this product a go!

This pairs perfectly with Snow Fairy shower gel because, well, they share the same scent. If you have the shower gel or are looking to buy it, I’d suggest you grab one of these lip scrubs to go along with it.

This lip scrub has such a cute name! Bubblegum – how adorable is that?!

Overall conclusion:

Overall, this is a nice product and is absolutely perfect for girly girls, those with a sweet tooth and Snow Fairy lovers.

Personally, I found it too sweet, and didn’t find that it did the job as well as others that I have tried. It isn’t a bad product – it did its job fairly well, and is quite cute.

I’m going to rate this lip scrub a 4 star rating today, because I’m feeling generous and well, it is pretty cute!

Lush Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb Review.

Hey guys! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is another bath bomb that I received from my lovely partner for Halloween! I hope you enjoy the review ๐Ÿ™‚

Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb

img_2477-2

Rating: 4/5

Cons:

Okay, so this bath bomb leaves the bath water a sort of… deep, pinky red colour. I’m not gunna lie, it did sort of remind me of blood mixed with some water… It was a little creepy (I guess that’s the point considering it is a halloween product!) If this sounds a little unnerving to you, I’d suggest you do not try out this bath bomb.

The scent is unusual. It is a musky, peppery, masculine, spicy yet sweet scent. I think it was quite nice, but it definitely wouldn’t be for everyone – especially those of you who enjoy more fruity, floral or girly scents! If it doesn’t sound like your type of thing then I wouldn’t risk trying it!

The actual bath bomb itself is a speckled green colour. Again, not very feminine looking so if you are looking for something more lady-like, Lord Of Misrule is not for you!

IMG_2480 (2).JPG

My Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb didn’t actually create THAT much bath art. The bath was left with a creamy milky white layer on top of the water, and with a small burgundy pattern at one end of the tub. It was interesting, but simple, so if you’re looking for a work of art in your bath then this isn’t the bath bomb for you!

My bath bomb sank shortly after I put it in the tub, so it was actually really difficult to tell whether it had finished doing it’s thing or not (the bath was covered in the creamy foam at that point.) I don’t like to touch and move and play around with bath bombs while they are in the bath, and prefer to just observe what they will do without me interfering. If you are similar, then this bath bomb is going to be quite annoying for you! Once the bath bomb sunk under water, there was no visible movement or colour release from it whatsoever! The only way I could guess that it had finished fizzing was when the popping candy stopped… well, popping. It definitely took patience!

This bath bomb didn’t have any amazing effects on my skin.

This is an exclusive Halloween product, meaning if you do like it, you’re going to have a hard time getting your hands on it through Spring and Summer!

Pros:

This being an exclusive product means it won’t be around for long, so if you are interested, you should grab one while they’re still in stores!

This is a Lush bath bomb – it is vegan, cruelty free… I honestly thing every vegan product from Lush is worth trying at least once!

The smell is very interesting, and makes a change from Lush’s usual style of scents. I think it is a smell that suit men more – perhaps one to buy for the man in your life to ease him into Lush?

This bath bomb is definitely fun, if nothing else. I really enjoyed trying it and it was a brilliant gift for Halloween.

The deep pinky burgundy colour of the design left on top of the water… wow! Such a gorgeous colour!

IMG_2490 (2).JPG

Although the colour of the bath water did remind me a little of bathing in blood, it also felt a bit like bathing in wine or pomegranate juice. Quite luxurious!

The creamy layer on top of the bath was really interesting, and my skin did feel slightly moisturised after using Lord Of Misrule.

There was a little bit of cold glitter in the bath bomb – I don’t know if this was just residue from my previous glittery bath / residue from a sparkly bubble bar that rubbed off onto Lord Of Misrule, but it might have been from the bath bomb itself! It was pretty either way.

Overall Conclusion:

IMG_2489 (2).JPG

Overall, this was a fun bath bomb to use, but personally it definitely didn’t live up to the massive hype that it has! This is many people’s FAVOURITE bath bomb – Pumpkin, Intergalactic and Butterbear were all DEFINITELY more lovely than Lord Of Misrule (at least for my taste!)

Don’t get me wrong, I am so glad I did try it. It is definitely an interesting one, and one I really feel I may buy my partner in the future ๐Ÿ˜‰

Overall, I rate this bath bomb a 4/5*, only just! Mostly because of the fact that it was a gift from my partner to be honest – and because of how unique it was!

What is your favourite bath bomb? Which Halloween products did you enjoy using the most? What do you think of Lord Of Misrule bath bomb and the scent? Leave a comment below! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb Review

img_2452-2

Intergalactic Bath Bomb

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

The glitter from this bath bomb won’t go straight down the plug hole once you have drained the bath water, so the bath needs to be rinsed after using it.

The scent isn’t very strong.

I don’t know if this is the same for all Intergalactic bath bombs, but mine was very soft – holding it would leave tons of power on on my fingers and little indents in the bath bomb. It is very delicate!

Because of the peppermint, the water sort of feels colder than it actually is. This meant me having to add a lot more hot water to my bath once I got in, until the bath was very full!

After bathing with this bath bomb, I did have to rinse myself off in the shower quickly afterwards to get any leftover residue out of my hair and off my skin.

This bath bomb didn’t do that much for my skin in terms of moisturising.

Pros:

The peppermint in this bath bomb makes your skin feel extra clean.

THIS BATH BOMB WILL MAKE YOUR BATH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THE WORLD WOW! The glitter… the colours… just… wow…

IMG_2454 (2).JPG

The scent is lovely! It is a sweet, musky peppermint, and is really refreshing. I’m sure it would be brilliant to use when you have a cold, to help with feeling congested.

My mother got me this as part of my birthday present, and wow, what an incredible gift! I would highly recommend giving this to someone as a gift.

The glitter stays on your skin a little bit after you get out the bath.

The display that this bath bomb gives… At first, the bath bomb realeased a cloud of inky blue colourant, that slowly spreads through the entire bath. The bath bomb then begins to release glitter and a beautiful rainbow of colours, all whilst spinning elegantly. Absolutely beautiful!

IMG_2466 (2).JPG

The fizzing time of this bath bomb was medium – long enough to really enjoy the show, but fast enough to not become too impatient or bored whilst watching. Ideal!

The name, the theme… Who doesn’t love Astronomy?

IMG_2475 (2).JPG

BEAUTIFUL!!!

AMAZING!!!

VEGAN, FROM LUSH, CRUELTY FREE, ETHICALLY SOURCED INGREDIENTS… HANDMADE…

My hair felt really soft after washing my hair in this bath!

Overall Conclusion:

IMG_2472 (2).JPG

Wow. Just wow. I did not expect to love this bath bomb as much as I did. It was just such an incredible experience, using this bath bomb.

I have to rate this bath bomb a 5/5*, without a doubt. The only negative thing about this bath bomb really was having to add in extra hot water to the bath, but I’m sure in the future I could just learn how much hot water this minty bath bomb requires.

Overall, I absolutely loved it!

Lush Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar Review

Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar:

Rating: 5/5*

Cons:

Like all shampoo bars, this does leave a bit of a mess in whatever tray you store it in. Particles of purple shampoo bar seem almost permanently welded to my square lush tin that I kept this shampoo bar in!

To me, this shampoo bar smells sort of like a good ol’ gin and tonic – something I’m sure is not everyone’s cup of tea!

The smell didn’t cling to my hair at all, and because I personally enjoyed the scent, this was a con for me.

This shampoo bar is an online exclusive, so you’ll have to do an online shop and pay for postage to get your hands on one of these!

Pros:

This lathers up like crazy. This is the shampoo that lathers more than any other I have tried from Lush (Jumping Juniper is at least the fifth that I have tried!) You can literally see the foam collecting around the plug hole as you wash it out of your hair. It is absolutely incredible!

This lasts for ages!

The colour is super pretty.

I really like the smell – it smells like gin and tonic to me, so basically a sort of slightly peppery lemon/lime scent. It is really refreshing and interesting ๐Ÿ™‚

This definitely washed my hair absolutely brilliantly.

This shampoo bar was the least awkward. What I mean by this is that the shampoo bar stayed in its form until it became very small, at which point the separate pieces still sort of stuck together, so it wasn’t very difficult to use at all.

My hair always felt lovely using this shampoo bar. It says it is very cleansing, and although it did clean my hair very well, it certainly did not strip it. I haven’t even been using a conditioner for quite a long time, yet this shampoo would leave my hair so shiny and silky and smooth and lovely – especially with second day hair!

I even got my partner into using this shampoo over his regular one – I convinced him that it was quicker and easier to use than regular shampoo and after trying it, he saw that I was telling the truth. As far as I know, he has used shampoo bars since ๐Ÿ™‚

This washes out very nicely. You do need to rinse it out quite thoroughly, but it definitely washes out faster than regular shampoo.

Overall conclusion:

Overall, I could not possibly give this shampoo a poor rating after what it has done for my hair. It just was such value for money – it lathered insanely well and really left my hair feeling lovely. It wasn’t anything extremely special, but it did it’s job very well – what more could you ask for from a shampoo?

I’m going to give this shampoo bar a rating of… hmm… I couldn’t give it any less than 5/5*. Although it is a simple product and doesn’t have a specific exciting theme (like Seanik for example,) it just did its job so, so well. I really enjoyed it!

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel Review

Hey everyone!

I recently finished my little bottle of Rose Jam Shower Gel that I got in a gift set during last year’s boxing day sale. It has taken me so long to get through it!

Hope you enjoy my review! ๐Ÿ™‚

Rose Jam Shower Gel (100g)

Rating: 5/5

Cons:

This shower gel smells super, super sweet. If you don’t like sweet smells then steer away from this one!

People say this shower gel doesn’t REALLY smell like roses. Well, it does, so if you don’t like the smell of roses I’d not advise you try this shower gel.

Sometimes this shower gel took me a bit of time to use the right amount of shower gel and in the right way to get enough lather for my entire body. I figured it out in the end though, but I have experienced having to re-fill my bath sponge with shower gel many times whilst using Rose Jam.

This is a Christmas exclusive, so if you really enjoy it you’re going to struggle to get your hands on it during any time of the year that isn’t Winter! Worse yet, it isn’t even guaranteed to come back next year – you just don’t know with Lush!

This shower gel is sort of a foody scent, so if that isn’t your sort of thing again, I’d not advise you try this shower gel.

Pros:

This tiny bottle of shower gel lasted me a really, really, really long time. Yes, I have been using other Lush products to clean my body with since buying this shower gel last Winter, but the tiny bottle still lasted me far longer than I expected it to when I was using it solely. I reckon this little bottle lasted me around… hmm… I’d say around 6 weeks altogether. That is a VERY long time for a bottle of shower gel this size to last. I’d estimate that it lasts between 30 and 40 washes. Extremely good value for money!

The smell is one that I personally love. It reminds me of this turkish delight me and my mother used to get in croissants whilst living in Bulgaria. Absolutely amazing! The smell was just perfect for me. I’d say if you’re not sure about this shower gel, it’s worth giving it a smell in store to see what you think about it.

The consistency… wow! So thick, it really does remind me of jam… or I guess it reminds me more of the consistency of strawberry sauce that you pour on ice cream or something. It is quite thick and sticky! It is really different and I really like it!

This shower gel is going to leave your bathroom smelling lovely for hours and hours and hours after taking a shower using it. I mean, who doesn’t like the smell of roses…???

The colour is very pretty. It is a dark, deep pink-red colour. Gorgeous!

This is a vegan handmade product from Lush that is cruelty free! Just that should be enough to make it worth giving it a go!

After working out how best to lather it, this shower gel lathered extremely well. I’ve been using ย bath sponge to wash myself with recently, and I found that if I lightly spiral a thin string of the shower gel on either side of the sponge, that will be enough to wash my entire body with.

Even after the shower gel has seemingly run out, mixing any left over with some water will allow you to get 5 or so more showers out of this gel! Often, this water-shower gel solution actually lathers better than the shower gel does by itself!

Overall Conclusion:

Overall, yes, I would recommend you try this shower gel. It is amazing! There are only really a couple of negatives I experienced while using it but on the whole, I’m so glad that I grabbed myself one last Winter!

I’m going to rate this shower gel a… hmm… this is tough. I’m going to have to go with 5/5*, because it really reminds me of the good times I had in Bulgaria. Roses are a very popular ingredient in Bulgaria – in both the food they make and the beauty products that they use, so I came across it often. Such a gorgeous smell!

Until next time!
